Tellychakkar.com was the first to break the news of Giaa Maanek being replaced in Star Plus' show Saathi Nibhana Saathiya (Rashi Sharma Telefilms) where she played the lead character of Gopi bahu. Giaa gained immense popularity all across the globe and became a household name as the timid, saree clad bahu.
But the moment she decided to get out of her skin and experiment and went on to sign a dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on a rival channel, Colors, problems struck her with all might.
Yes, she was shown the doors by the channel by stating, "Giaa Manek has however been discontinued with immediate effect, due to unprofessional conduct and breach of contract from the actor's side."
Hmm...heavy words...and this is what Giaa had to say in return, "I don't care what people have to say about me. My contract says that I have to devote 25 days to Saathiya and remaining 5 days are mine (Jhalak only needs 4 days a month). I did not ever reach late for shooting during rehearsals yet they called me unprofessional."
She continued,"I was made a scapegoat as the channel wanted to send a message to other artists to fall in line or perish. I was lots of mental torture. In past one month my doctor said if this continued then I might have slipped into depression."
Giaa...we understand. But looking ahead how is she preparing for Jhalak? "I have not thought anything as I was tied up in this mess. But I am keen and hopefully will have a great sting."
