A silent buzz filled the air, the audience sat erect in anticipation, their eyes focused on the batter who approached the pitch once again. Females in the crowd squealed as he glanced briefly towards them, a slight smirk gracing his lips before he turned to study the bowler, his face becoming drawn in determination. He slowly wiped away the sweat that trickled down his handsome face, eyes squinting into the afternoon sun that beat down upon the vast stadium. Giving a thumbs up to the non striker, he put his helmet back on, quickly slipping into position and signaling that he was ready.
The crowd's spirit pumped up as the home team watched their favorite player scuff his shoes against the dirt in preparation for the fast ball that was sure to come his way. Sure enough the bowler began his running start, launching the hard ball into a blazing trail headed straight for the wickets placed behind the batter. The batter took a swing as the crowd held its breath. This was it, they make it or break it. With four runs to go on their last ball, the man standing on the pitch right now had been the Delhi Dynamite's last hope. And as always, he met their expectations, maybe even outdid them.
Cheers erupted from the stadium as the ball sprung from the bat and flew forward, the batsmen stopped running, waiting with bated breath as their eyes latched onto the ball which soared well past the four point boundary.
Yes. This was it. The spinning sphere catapulted into the stadiums tiered seats, causing hundreds of fans to leap at a chance to claim the winning ball.
The announcers excited voice boomed through the stadium as it erupted with affection. Hoots, cheers, whistles, and shouts of joy accompanied the moans of the losing team threatened to drown out the official declaration.
"And with that final sixer," the announcers voice boomed throughout the stadium, "at all of 25, Karan Wahi has once again proved himself and batted his team to victory! Folks moments ago, times looked grim for the Dynamites who needed 4 runs from just one ball, but as you just saw, they have once again secured their place as winners of the IPL Season 6 and are once again taking the trophy home!!!"
The crowed cheered in agreement as The Delhi Dynamites rushed out onto the field, smothering the youngest and most beloved member of their team. Within moments, he along with the captain were hoisted upon the strong shoulders of Delhi's finest batsmen and fast bowlers as they paraded around the field.
Up in the stadium seats, a group of girls convened.
"Twenty-five!" Zarqa exclaimed, "that dude just said he was twenty-five!"
"Yeah," Aish replied distractedly, "that's how old he is, duh. We celebrated his birthday together last year remember?"
"DUDE!" Zarqa reached over to shake Aish's shoulder violently, "are we maybe forgetting something?!"
Aish turned to look at her quizzically, then froze as realization set in. "OH MY GOD!" she exclaimed, "What the! How the! HOW DID WE FORGET?!"
Zarqa shrugged miserably, "I guess with all the excitement for the finals, it just slipped our minds. Do you think the other girls remembered?"
Aish bit her lip anxiously, "well noone said anything, and we were all so busy planning the after party that-"
"OHMYGOD!" Aish jumped at the sudden interruption, "what,' she asked.
"DUDE. Aish!" Zarqa said with a twinkle in her eye, "we already have a party planned..."
As Zarqa's words sank in, Aish began to smile with her. "We are really lucky," she commented.
"Pfft, you can say that again," Zarqa agreed. Both friends stood silently for a minute, their eyes following the players who were still celebrating out on the field.
"Right," Aish said coming out of her reverie, "let's call the others and tell them to congregate!"
...
"Karan!!!" Zarqa and Aish smiled broadly as their friend and admittedly biggest shared crush finally emerged from the locker room. He grinned at them in return, face lighting up at the sight of the balloons each girl was clutching. One literally bounced from excitement, while Aish waved excitedly at Karan as he weaved through his teammates towards them.
"Hey girls," he said pulling them into a hug, "how was the match?"
"Amazing," Zarqa replied.
"As always, duh," Aish added with a laugh.
"Why thank you my fine ladies." Zarqa and Aish laughed as Karan bowed to them theatrically, earning laughs from the teammates who were still idling by the door.
"Hey," Zarqa said, "you remember about tonight right?"
"Well, I kind of thought the whole planning a party before we actually managed to win thing-"
"Yeah, whatever," Aish cut Karan off, "we were right, as always, and you won. Therefore this after finals party has become a victory party! Wohoo. We should remind everyone."
Karan shook his head in silent amazement, possibly a touch of respect, as Aish pounced onto a nearby bench, yanking Zarqa up beside her.
"ATTENTION." Aish screamed out.
"Everyone is invited" Zarqa took over, "to the celebratory party tonight."
"There's gonna be lotsa fun sh- STUFF." Aish added, "so bring your party hats!"
"She means figuratively," Zarqa cut in, "I think that club actually has something against party hats but whatever."
"Yeah, right, anyway, so THE KUSH ROOFTOP at 8 be there!" Two bellowed.
"Or be square!" Zarqa shouted with glee. Karan snorted right then, causing both girls to mock glare at him. Exchanging a conspiratory look, they turned back to the crowd.
"Just so you know," Aish said to the crowd with a teasing tone.
"The first ones to get there," Zarqa continued, "will have their names put in a raffle drawing."
"Yeah. Winner gets to throw balls at Karan's Dunk chair." Aish finished sweetly.
"You can't expect me to show up after that little stunt," Karan stated as the two girls stepped down.
"Oh you'll show up." The girls' smiles grew wider as an arm curled around his shoulders, a familiar grinning face emerging beside him. "Don't worry girls," Saania reassured them with a wink, "I'll make sure he gets there on time."
Giving their new partner in crime high fives the girls bid farewell, waving goodbye to Karan, Virat, and the rest of Delhi Dynamite, who by now knew most of Karan's crazy fans by name.

"SANUUU"
"BANUUU"
"SANUBANU!"
"BANUSANU!"
Zarqa and Aish stood with hands on their hips as their voices echoed off the walls of KUSH, returning to their ears, unfortunately without an accompanying reply.
"Guys?" Zarqa tried again.
"MARCO?!?!" Aish shouted.
It took a few seconds, but soon enough, a pair of voices ascended from the steps leading to the basement.
"POLO!" Saania's voice floated towards them as she appeared at the top of the stairs,
"Polo two!" Bani's voice came from behind her as the two worked in tandem, lugging a huge box of what seemed to be party decorations between them.
"GUYS!" Aish screeched, "you're not done yet?!"
Zarqa rolled her eyes as she walked towards their friends to help, "we've got time Aish, it's only 3 pm!"
"Yeah- leaving us like two hours to decorate this place before we have to get ready!" The retort was accompanied by a horrified look before she too rushed to help her friends by running to grab the boxes of cards that had arrived.
"Seems like not everyone was distracted by the games," Zarqa commented and she and Aish walked up with their third box of presents.
"Guess not eh," Sanu grinned.
"Oh shut up," Aish grumbled.
In less than two hours, KUSH had been given a facelift, not a trace of the match watching party from earlier in the day remained. Instead everything had been done up in attractive hues of blue and green with a dash of gray. More helpers had arrived and assisted in setting up the buffet the caterers had delivered. The more tech savvy amongst them were busy helping to set up the sound system and coordinated light show along with the projector and screen.
Before they knew it, it was eight and guests began flowing into the popular nightclub. As expected, Virat and Karan had been "unexpectedly delayed" by Virat's unfortunate flat tire a good forty minutes away from the venue. Karan would realize only much later in the night why a man who lived a mere ten minutes away from KUSH had insisted on not only going out of his way to pick him up, but also chose to go the long way around heading back to the club. This gave the party organizers enough time to make sure a majority of the party was there, and inform them just what was ultra special about that night.
At around 9 Virat and Karan finally arrived, they were quickly swept in by the crowd. Their teammates gathered around as the celebratory cake was brought out and cut by a rambunctious group of cricket players who daylighted at actors, anchors, singers, and sportsmen. By the end of the impromptu cake fight, half the party trudged off to clean cake off of their faces.
As the clock edged towards the 12 am mark, the girls met in the middle of the dance floor.
"Ok guys," Zarqa said, "you all know the plan right?"
The other three nodded, breaking their huddle with a silent cheer, they each walked off to complete their duties.
At precisely 11: 30, the lights and music died. A single spotlight came on, scanning the crowd until it came to rest on a very confused Karan Wahi. The friends that surrounded him began to not so gently prod and shove him. Finally picking him up so he was deposited onto a raised platform. He looked around in confusion as the crowd excitedly, immidiently quieting down as Aish's voice boomed from the speakers, "Karan thought everyone forgot."
"But he tends to grossly underestimate us alot," Zarqa's voice added.
"It's ok though, he is only human after all," Saania reeeassured everyone.
"But the point is that we didn't forget," Bani said.
"Before we tell you what exactly we didn't forget however," Aish continued.
"We thought we'd tell Karan and everyone else why exactly we love this man so much!" Zarqa declared
"So with a huge thank you to Bani, the amazing adorable person who slugged through a bunch of horrible takes and put this together," Saania announced, "we present to you!"
"The first," Aish stated
"Of many gifts," Zarqa concluded.
Everyone's eyes turned to the huge white screen erected on one end of the rooftop, clapping as the projector flickered to life and started the video.

The spotlight came on again to focus on a grinning Karan. A mic floated through the crowd before he grabbed it.
"O.M.G. ... thankuuu so mch for this
thxxx a lot...this is overwhelming..." Karan declared after coming out of the shock "and about the 8 packs, let me sharpen them again and you'll see them" he joked, winking at his most favorite foursome!
The laughing crowd turned to follow the spotlight as it swung towards the entrance. Bani and Saania appeared, a large cake in between them as they delicately carried it towards a small table that had magically appeared.
As they set it down, Zarqa and Aish appeared beside Karan, bearing an explosion of balloons they directed him to get down and follow them. Approaching the cake, Aish began leading the crowd in a really loud rendition of the Happy Birthday Song.
"Ready for the countdown?" the crowd was asked.
Sure enough the clock had struck 11:59 a few seconds ago. As the second hand moved closer to the 12, Sanu reached for the mike, "TEN."
"Nine..." Bani continued.
"Eight!" The crowd got the hint, joining it at this point.
"Seven!"
"Six"
"Five"
"Four"
"Three"
"Two"
"ONE!!!!!!!" The crowd shouted together.
Fireworks exploded in the sky as a happily surprised and overwhelmed Karan bent to blow out his 26 birthday candles, ringing in his 26th year on earth to a chorus of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARAN!!!'s"
He emerged ten minutes later from the mosh pit the area surrounding the cake had become, crawling his way out of a crowd who had yet to realize the person they were attempting to attack had escaped.
"Thanks guys," he said weakly to the four girls who lounged by the bar, laughing at the state their friend and, admittedly, idol was in.
"Having fun?" Zarqa teased.
Karan pulled himself onto a barstool. "Despite the mauling, yes." he admitted.
"Good!" Aish chirped as she popped into the seat next to him, "because we drew for the raffle and found the person who gets to dunk you!"
A look of what can only be explained as pure panic flooded Karan's face before he turned to escape. Unfortunately, banu, sanu, zaq, and virat, who reappeared once again to assist his partners in crime, blocked his way. he was cornered. friends on one side, a bar on the other. Sighing in defeat he turned back to bar, eyes lighting up as he saw the tiny glasses lined up before him
"Happy Birthday Karan Wahi," the five people around him said in unison.
"Now," Aish shouted.
"SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS, SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS!!!!!" The group belted together, rushing to the bar they each gulped down a little glass of scentless, burning, tasteless...totally-worth-its.
...
Hours later, a completely drenched Karan sat down again. This time downstairs in the dining area at table which was towered with gifts. After toweling himself down as best as he could, he sighed. Filled with joy and partly with apprehension, he set upon opening the many gifts his friends had piled up as they came to party at his surprise birthday party. And I thought people had managed to forget my birthday, he mused. Smiling softly, he read the first card. "Shrishti Di!" he exclaimed out loud in delight, "let's see what you have to say."
Happy Birthday to my baby, my prince, my pride... My Ranvir Sisodia! Much love always and remember- this is just the beginning xx
-Shrishti Arya
A content smile laced his lips as he reached for the next card, grinning widely the single line written on it brought back priceless memories.
Best wishes to my fellow Modi bro...all the best to you
-Amit Tandon
Sure, he loved playing cricket on his All-Star Cricket Team for the All-Star tournaments, but he missed the days spent on sets. It had been hard work, tiring, and plain boring a lot, but the memories made between shots had definitely been worth it. Thinking about those days, he opened the next card
hey..would like to wish him loads of happiness n success. he is a down to earth n a very genuine person.

honest n fun lovin n mischievious.
-Neha Jhulka
He opened the next card, laughing as he realized it had kind of become a timeline, going from one friend to another in chronological order.
i wish karan wahi a very happy birthday and may he

him all the happiness in this world
-Shilpa Anand
"Hey buddy," a voice came from behind, "how ya holdin up?"
Karan turned to smile as Raj descended down the stairs towards him.
"Good," he replied, "just opening these gifts."
"You're not tired right?" Karan Mehra appeared almost out of nowhere on the other side.
"Umm...no?"
"Good," Jay said as he joined them.
"Because there's more," Gaurav finished.
The four men pointed with a flourish towards the back of the restaurant, where Aish, Zarqa, Bani, Saania, and Virat stood, each holding a pile of gifts and messages from around the globe.
"Oh Boy." Karan muttered with a good natured smile.
THE END!

Karan did in fact reply to the video already, below are the two messages he actually sent out, we edited for the sake of storyline. If this insulted or bothered someone, we apologize We hope the "SHOTS" scene didn't disturb anyone. For those of you interested, that whole scene was due to an infatuation with the song "Shots" by LMFAO Before anyone gets up in arms, the scenarios in this OS are obviously purely fictitious and purely from our imagination. Our names were used simply because we were involved in the process and didn't feel right being the one forced to decide what other names would be used. We did not in any manner mean to make anyone feel bad with any of this. Please take everything with a pinch of salt.
