Star Plus and Giaa Maanek have betrayed us

But today, I feel by replacing Gopi with some other actress, has ruined the charm of the show for me, I feel betrayed by Star Plus from not backing down.

I understand that Star Plus put out a new rule, this year because they were afraid of Jhalak Dikhlaja's popularity, in previous years that show was not such a threat, now that shows like CID (those Sony crime shows) are closing in on Star Plus, they felt they had to change things and not allow their stars to take part in rival channel's shows. But then we have all the comedy circus, also that Ishq Sufiyana performance of GiNa, it was fine then because it was promotion for Saath Nibhana Saathiya. This time also they could have backed down and took it as a promotion for SNS. But because they had refused people like Sanaya Irani of IPKKND and they heeded they advice, if they backed down for Giaa, Sanaya and other would have said favouritism. So they have gone ahead and replaced her, and are now throwing out soundbites to disuade audiences to stay with Saath Nibhana Saathiya, to say Giaa Maanek doesn't want you to stop watching (that twitter message), telling Nazim to urge people to carry on watching SNS, putting out a promo with Rupal and Swati (Kokila and Hetal) supporting the new replacement. That is the strategy to stop the exodus of fans from the show.

I feel equally betrayed by Giaa Maanek, yes she wanted to do other things, she has been dropping hints that she wants to do a villain role, it's perfectly understandable that she had no growth as an artist in the role of Gopi. But Giaa should have recognised that the show won't go on for much further regardless of her staying or exiting the show. Saath Nibhana Saathiya is one spouse reluctant and one spouse willing, when the unwilling partner becomes willing that's the end of the show, and Aham has admitted he is happy now, Rashi also we can see she accepted Jigar, Kinjal is left, once this all was tied up, most likely SNS is finishing in December 2012 anyway. So Giaa Maanek could have waited and seen it through to the end.

I don't like seeing a stranger take the place of a lead, I have grown attached to the show, and Gopi is part and parcel of that attachment, if a stranger is playing Gopi, it will not be the same, it ruins the charm of the show for me, and I know others feel the same.

I felt Star Plus and Giaa Maanek have been selfish and are not considerate of fanatics like us. They don't view the show with our eyes, our feelings, to them they have no feelings of attachment to the characters and faces on screen when they watch Saath Nibhana Saathiya.

I'm sure it's going to hurt Giaa Maanek as much as it hurts us to see the new replacement be in her shoes on the show, I know most likely she will not watch another episode of Saathiya, it will be too painful for her to see it. Giaa Maanek should have considered not only us, but her own feelings at seeing her part played by someone else, and not gone ahead with this move.

i dun understand why giaa shudnt have taken up JDJ??? i see no offence here, there are many stars in the JDJ show who work for daily and can manage doing both shows.. then why SP had to axe giaa... i totally support giaa for her decison of taking up the show JDJ afterall, its worth an experimentation... i am very sure giaa is intelligent enuf and could have easily handled two shows at one go...

its only becoz of SP and their ego hassel one of the longest running shows SNS is affected and so are its viewers...

Monyka, then we need to hear the truth from Giaa Maanek, she needs to tell us why she is leaving, so far all she has said when the news broke out yesterday, was she would have press conference at 12pm today 07/06/2012...we are still waiting for that, however later on anther article Giaa said my focus is on Jhalak Dikhlaja now and get back to me just before JDJ is coming on air to discuss that telling the journalists, that led me to believe Giaa Maanek has chosen not to have that press conference. But I think she should have it, as already Star Plus have replaced her, and are unlikely to ever offer her a role in Star again, she might as well reveal to the public what happened!!!
