I SOOO agree with that!!!

The quality of indian tv is downright abysmal, IMO. They need to seriously make changes.
Indian tv doesn't necessarily have to copy the american/european model...but they can learn a lot from it.

American soaps are part of "day-time" tv...mainly targeted at women. These saas-bahu serials should also just be moved to the day. The evening then can be free for more diverse types of programming (including some family dramas).

I don't think it's only the case that people are hesitant to accept new concepts. The problem is not only with the audience. Producers must also be brave enough to make shows that are not cliched and boring. They need to find the right audience and market their shows too. Bring other audiences back to tv...audiences who don't watch saas-bahu shows...

They first need to change the TRP system. Some 500 TRP meters cannot decide the fate of shows on television. While discussing with friends on Facebook, I posted that rather than looking Distant West, we need to get inspired by the Near West TV format -- Pakistani shows. Most of their popular shows, recent Humsafar, have limited episodes. Kismat had limited episodes but then it didn't get the TRPs for Channels to show enthusiasm for similar shows to air on TV.

I feel for the creatives, writers and actors -- they want to explore new concepts and ideas but then they cannot and it can be quite frustrating. As one of the directors was saying, there are so many regional stories that can be explored.

Apurva I can tell you the risk you took is entertaining, I am inclined towards Love stories towards family drama but when a show deals with showcasing mind and emotional ball game its a bundle of everything...

ASA is showcased with chunks of things at perks and as a viewer when you catch that its full on entertainment.. And glad that actors like you explore such frontiers and your character hits me harder than any other character played by you earlier..👏👏

its a bullet...

Thanks for sharing..

To take risk seems an additional forte for Apu..he is one actor who did not hesisitate to take a show of almost 2 yrs on air..it was a risk taken to play the character of Anmol..for him the role did matter the most not the duration.his hard work paid off as the he did left a big mark portraying Anmol..

Now ASA a unique concept and playing DC..Dev chopra ..a grey character where he has to balance the good in him and the mastermind as a producer to get his TRPS..Till date he is doing a very outstanding job..

All the best Apu and keep rocking as DC..DEV and i'm sure you will get more recognition for this role too...

Apurva Agnihotri says he is content with Aasman se Aage!

on Tuesday at 10:17am
After getting a lot of fame from the show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi quiet some years back, Apurva Agnihotri has once again started getting fame on the small screen playing a grey shade this time.

The actor is seen in a show named Aasman se Aage on Life OK in which he is seen as the producer of a reality show. Talking of the unique concept, Apurva said, "Reality shows strive on emotions. People like to watch how a person works for 18 hours a day to earn 1,000 bucks or hardships faced by an autorickshaw driver. This is because they relate to the hardships. No one would really like to listen to the stories of a multi-millionaire. Aasman Se Aage delves into the world of reality shows. I wouldn't say it is 100 percent based on reality shows ' 70 percent is about the reality shows, 30 percent is fiction."

He further accepts that saying yes to the show was risky. He said, "I have taken a risk, but I like it. It is a path-breaking show, something, which has not been on television before. The show has opened up well, considering there was hardly any publicity. Moreover, it clashes with Bade Acche Lagte Hain (on Sony) in the same time slot."

Well, this decision seems to be really leading the actor's career higher.

Its a beautiful show 👏👏👏

I can see the repeats n number of times I watch this show and put my thinking caps on

Emotional Baggage is the Biggest Hurdle in this dream path for attaining fame. and that deals with getting one to preoccupied and deviate from focus...

This show plays with emotions ...Very enteratianing.. and Apur rocks as DC grey . whatever He is positive rock for me..His equation is amazing..

People should take time at 10:30 pm and watch this show, Its so seeping into your grey and white cells 😃

and come out of the herd mentality of viewrship and see something novel and blend of such drama drama and only drama in DCland...👏

O I forgot this was the picture from Bidaaii sapna babul ka where he was used as a TRP card ... for the show to end at No 1 where no show ends when it is no1 Thanks to some channel who really made use of an amazing actor and character just to get TRP ...

Here taking a risk Apurv you proved that you can be a a multi tasker role , ur presence makes me watch ASA everyday and scales high whenever u give your dialogues which puts us to homework 😳

Exploring such shows is important and less with pomp and show...
