I SOOO agree with that!!!The quality of indian tv is downright abysmal, IMO. They need to seriously make changes.Indian tv doesn't necessarily have to copy the american/european model...but they can learn a lot from it.American soaps are part of "day-time" tv...mainly targeted at women. These saas-bahu serials should also just be moved to the day. The evening then can be free for more diverse types of programming (including some family dramas).I don't think it's only the case that people are hesitant to accept new concepts. The problem is not only with the audience. Producers must also be brave enough to make shows that are not cliched and boring. They need to find the right audience and market their shows too. Bring other audiences back to tv...audiences who don't watch saas-bahu shows...
