TT Review of Monday Epi of Madhubala

Like the dhamakedaar entry of baby Madhubala —-The third day of Madhubala's existence on earth brought a dhamakedaar Jashan in the mohallah courtesy Roma Mausi and ended in another dhamakedar drama courtesy Madhu's Loony dad Balraj Choudhuray ! I swear it's Balraj who should've been in the film line and not Padmini—-with the spate of nautanki and singing that we've seen Balraj capable of recently—hehe. I liked the way Shamsher seems to have become the self appointed body guard, cum savior cum friend, cum guardian cum " bachchey ka pita" u name it and he's it, when it comes to Padmini—-the fact that he was unwilling to answer Trishna's question regarding his relationship with the baby , and his hurt expression at Padmini's unwillingness to put his name in the hospital discharge sheet under the baby's father, was proof enough that he wants to be much more than a " Mamuji" to baby Madhu. His concern and worry that Madhubala might be called " Najayaz" if Padmini continues to conceal the baby's father's name , was very apparent in his explanation to Padmini that his intention was to give the baby a father's name not to forge a relationship with Padmini herself ( even though he wouldn't half mind it ). That Roma is every bit the eccentric Drama Queen with a heart of gold ,was very apparent from her spontaneous jubilation at becoming a Mausi—–her extravagant arrangements celebrating Madhubala's entry into the Mohalla from her lifetime savings indicate her genuine love and concern for Padmini and her daughters. I felt Balraj's self dentistry was more comic than scary , but his words and menacing presence sure terrorized Padmini to the core. I'm hopeful that our fight master Shamsher Dada won't allow Balraj and his goons to take away Padmini without a fight —-hoping that he makes it on time though ! All in all , I'm liking the pace of the episodes and each episode seems to be instilled with its share of drama, emotion, suspense and comedy——-still awaiting the entry of Mishti Madhubala filmy style !
