Kalki is actually really talented--after I saw Shaitaan and That Girl in Yellow Boots I was mesmerized with her wicked expressions. She's plays very "cold" and "twisty" characters and that's refreshing b/c her face is so regal-like. Plus, she has connections as someone mentioned she is Anurag's wife.

I don't love her, but I def don't hate her. She's a very neutral yes for me b/c she's different. That's something mysterious about her when she's on-screen that makes her intriguing. Plus, she's not boring on-screen--there's some kind of zest to her IMO.

I dont think someone as strong willed to follow her dreams and carve a place for herself in realistic cinema would ever use her husband's or anybody else influence to bag a movie
Its not like she is acting with khans or doing promos & ads & photo shoots left right & centre

Whenever you think of actresses, there's A-list GLAMOROUS Kareena, Kat, Sonam, Aish, etc etc... and then, there are actresses like Kalki and Konkana Sen.

She isnt the "typical" heroine, but has LOADS of talent. Just look at her in each movie - Dev D, Shaitan, ZNMD... she is THERE. unique and talented.. more importantly, she looks REAL to me.. (could be the character she's given to portray, but she lives through 'em)

I loved her in Dev D, and I always stop whenever Hawa Hawai song comes on TV.. I just love her :)

Hope to see more movies coming from her :):) ...and, I love how she kept her teeth the way they are. This girl is very natural and doesnt care what others think about her teeth..

She's one of the few foreign girl that can actually act. I have no problem with her really I saw two of her films and she impressed me in both 'That Girl in Yellow Boots' and 'Dev.D'

ksh, u answrd ur question in ur post. she gets cast in th roles which doesnt require her to dance or b a typical indian heroine. she's pickd up for ths off-beat roles. jus lik konkana and tabu , she too is suitd for certain roles and will b discarded by BW once she's used.

Personally yes I cant get why would anyone be interested in her apart from being a clotheshorse maybe...but her connections with Salman helped her get some early breaks. And she managed to convert them all to popularity. Like I said she is every Indian man's fantasy-the gori chamdi romancing ordinary looking Indian guys onscreen thus the man on the street can dream of a beautiful White woman like her. But Kalki has never depended on her fair skin or skimpy clothes to get work. Skimpy clothes and skin colors are primary factors for success in BW. There are a few good actresses but they are a rare commodity in BW.

I completely agree. I think the fact that Kalki has managed to carve a niche for herself without having to resort to cheap tactics and basically prostituting herself like 90% of te mainstream BW actresses, is a testament to her skills and talent as an actress. I can't think of a single BW actress who matchess her in skill charisma and sheer screen presence. Vidya Balan is hailed as BW's best female talent at the moment, and whilst I do think she's excellent Kalki is way ahead of even her.
