Ok so I know she has decent language skills and acting skills so much so that she has been from time to time cast as an Indian in several films without having to explain her looks. She is also a decent looker. But she really doesnt fit in Hindi cinema heroine mould like say Kareena or PC and nor does she fit the exotic White fantasy mould like Katrina. We also never hear any rumours of casting couch surrounding her...she dated Anurag Kashyap and went on to marry him. She is a decent actress but there are better ones. She is very low profile in the media too. So what makes her click with casting directors of Bollywood?

Yup..godi chamdi is there. But she doesnt do jhatam-matak roles or item numbers like other White imports are doing. What is the point of godi chamdi if she isnt a fantasy queen?

Shes anurag kashyap's wife...comeon...and he knows all the new age filmy directors...zoya, sriram, dibakar...and kashyap himself directs and produces movies...most of her work is in the "anurag kashyap and gang" creations...

Kalki is one of the few foreign descent actors whom I have no problem with. That is because I find her immensely talented. She does not ham or go over the top like your typical clich stars, she has a nice understated style and embraces characters. Moreover, she isn't as foreign to India as we might think. Her parents settled in India, so she is born and raised in India. She is probably more Indian than some NRI born kids. Her roles are off beat and she has not been passed off as a typical and ordinary Indian girl.

Her language skills are fine (she was born and brought up in India). She has done theatre work before joining films and still goes back to that from time to time. And she seems content in working in offbeat films, low budget niche audience films which is fine I think.

Personally I like her. She's a very good actress and not just your standard "white girl" or the typical "pretty face/love interest" in her movies. I'd say she is more talented than many of the mainstream (so called "A-list") actresses.

Kalki is pretty decent as an actress and she comes across as a nice human being too.

I have seen her in 2 or 3 movies, and she was quite impressive and doesn't coem across as bimbettes. Her interviews and articles (on HT) are pretty decent.

I guess her acting skills and common sense gets her those roles. And I am mighty glad at that.

She needs to get her damn teeth fixed first. They annoy the hell out of me. At times, she reminds me of Darsheel Safari's mom or older sister.

I find her really good. I really liked her in Dev D and recently she was alright in ZNMD. She's pretty.

Kalki definitely can act better than many Top A list actresses for sure, she has Phirangi looks but she isnt dead pale, cannot rule out she tries new roles no matter even if its a side role unlike i wanna do a solo role alone ... her husband may or may not be involved in getting her roles , but what ever , as long as she is doing good work with good scripts and good roles, who cares and why bother
