Part 3:
At Meera's home:
"Babaji, ye kya ho raha hai mere saath. Whenever I close my eyes, I see only him, and even when my eyes are open, then also I see him. I will go mad if this continues." Geet thought as she was desperately trying to sleep. But it seemed like her Babaji had other plans for her.
"And where is that Meera. Tomorrow is her engagement and still she is talking to her fiance, okay, would be fiance. And here I am in her room, waiting for her. Why did I have to come here. Accha hota agar kal engagement me hi aati. Lekin no, she had to drag me here today while she is busy talking to Dev."
She again flopped on bed in order to sleep, but sleep had eluded her and taking its place was a stranger who she was not able to forget. The stranger who had captivated her heart and mind.
All she could was his eyes looking at her. She could still feel the touch of his hands on her waist. Her cheeks gained colour as she thought about it. She would have been in her dreamland if not for Meera.
Meera entered her room only to find Geet lost somewhere. She had never seen her like this. She was dreading entering the room as she knew that Geet will be angry on her for talking to Dev for so long when she stayed here only for her. But what can she do, Dev was not ready to cut the call. Only she knew how many things she had to promise to make him agree. And when she came this girl is lost somewhere.
She jumped on the bed to make her aware of her presence. Geet instantly looked at her shocked and then made an angry face and turned the other side.
Meera was just about to touch her shoulder to turn her back when she heard, "Don't even think about it. I know what you will do and I will not melt with your stupid puppy face." And then she pulled the duvet over her pretending to sleep.
Meera knew that now she has to work hard to make up to her best friend. She was thinking and Geet was peeping from the duvet to look at her, to know what she is planning. Suddenly Meera ran from the room and Geet again got angry. She was thinking to herself, "Look at her. Ek toh, I am here just for her, and she, first went to talk to her boyfriend, and now just ran away. Chaddho, even I will not talk to her." And she went back inside her duvet.
After few minutes, she heard someone entering the room. She saw it was Meera who was opening the door with her back and was carrying something which she was not able to see as her back was facing her. Meera was slowly walking to the other side of the room, and she kept all that she had on the table there and turned. Geet immediately turned but Meera caught her looking at her.
Meera smirked and went near her. She nudged her, "Geet, uth naa, wake up sweety. I am sorry dear, but Dev was not keeping the phone down. Sorry na, see I am holding my ears."
Geet looked at her holding her ears cutely, she was melting, but she turned away again. Meera knew now she had to use the last weapon. She went to the couch, switched on the home theater, and the DVD of F.R.I.E.N.D.S started to play. The opening song was playing, and Geet instantly sat upright on the bed giving her angry glares.
So no one told you life was gonna be this way

Meera was sitting there looking at her pouting, holding tub of ice-cream in one hand and chocolates in another, saying sorry. Geet just could not hold her laugh anymore

She just laughed and ran ran towards her, and hugged her, feeling what the song was saying. I'll be there for you.
"Ab to maaf kiya naa. See I arranged everything like you like, ice-cream, chocolate, and I did not even bring any bowl or anything, direct tub only." Now how can Geet remain angry on her best friend, especially when FRIENDS is going on.
"This is the last time. I won't agree easily next time." Then she took the tub from her Meera and looked at the screen and said, "Meer, fourth season nahi, season 1 se laga naa. I want to see from where it all starts. And waise bhi I don't want to miss it seeing with you, pata nahi dobara mauka mile na mile."
Meera said angrily, "Why are you saying ki mauka mile na mile. I am not going anywhere, sirf engagement hi hai kal, shaadi nahi."
"I know, shaadi 1 week baad hai. But then we won't be together like this. Jiju will be your first priority." Geet said sadly.
"After you," Meera said completing her sentence, "And stop all this emotional atyachar. God pata nahi what has happend to you today, first you were lost at mall, then you were lost at home and now all this emotional talks, where has my Geetu gone?"
Geet just chuckled hearing her and said, "Ab bride toh emotional ho nahi rahi hai toh maine socha main he emotional element daal dun," Geet said winking and ran.
Meera made an O face, picked a cushion and threw it on Geet. Thus began the Tom and Jerry sequence once again. Geet running dodging the cushions and pillows and Meera running behind her to catch her while throwing all the soft materials that she came across.
Finally both of them collapsed on bed, catching their breath. Geet looked at her and said, "Sorry, tussi hume chodkar chale jaoge."
Meera looked at her with a questioning face, "Do you really think so?" Geet shook her head. Meera hugged her and said, "Never will I let you go. Dev ko Suhaag Raat par kamre se bahar kar dungi, and we will watch FRIENDS together."
"Oye! Jiju will curse me the whole time, though he will want to kill me for making him miss the 'Suhag raat' but he knows you will kill him if he did anything to me, but he will just have to do with cursing." Geet looked at Meera and both burst out laughing imagining poor Dev's face.
"Meer, can I ask you one thing?" Geet said lying in the same position.
"When did you start to ask permission to ask me anything?" Meera propped up on her elbow.
Geet also came in the same position and asked, "How did you know that jiju was the one for you. I mean did you feel it or you just, you know..."
Meera was confused. This was the first time Geet was asking such question. She now become suspicious about her. And she knew it will not to easy to make Geet tell her what is wrong, so she thought the best way is to try to answer her. And in between her questions maybe she will find out what is wrong with her Geetu.
"It is not a difficult answer but also not an easy one. YOU JUST KNOW. I know you must be thinking how do you know. Its that feeling inside you. You want to see that person every time, want to talk to him whole time. Like if you do not see him or listen to him, you will not be able to breathe. For us, it was like we could not exist without each other. He completes me. For us it was like when we saw in each others eyes, I knew that he is the one in whose eyes I want to look my entire life and with those eyes only I want to look at the world. And you know..."
Meera was saying all this, but as soon as Geet heard the word eyes, she again remembered the stranger and was again lost in those chocolate brown eyes. She was so lost that she did not know when Meera stopped talking and was looking at her.
"Geet, Geet," Meera was shaking her by her shoulder to get her out of her reverie, "You okay?"
Geet smacked herself mentally to get lost in him again and said, "Oh, Yeah, umm, I am fine." Meera looked at her suspiciously and asked, "Are you sure? What were you thinking?"
Geet knew she has to think of something quick and then she heard someone saying 'How u doin', and she answered, "I was thinking you are making me miss my Joey, and my other FRIENDS," making a pouting face.
Meera just rolled her eyes and said, "First you only ask a question and when I answer, madam is busy thinking something else. Now get up, otherwise you will blame only me for missing your sweet FRIENDS, even though we are watching on DVD."
"You know how I feel about them."
"Yeah, yeah, I know, now come on, the ice-cream must also be melting." They both got down from bed and went towards the couch to see their favorite sitcom.
Meera was thinking, "Geet I know you are hiding something, but I will not force you now. Let the engagement be done tomorrow, then I will see how you will hide it from me."
Geet was thinking, "I know Meera you think I am hiding something, but I myself don't know what is happening to me. His one look, his eyes have captivated me so much that I am unable to think anything. Is this what you were talking about. Is this LOVE? Did I fall in LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?"

The whole hall was decorated with different flowers, with different colour lights, kids running around, the girl's family looking at the last minute preparations before the boy's side comes.
Everyone was running here and there. The boy's family finally entered and they were welcomed with all the customs, with Meera's mother doing the tilak, and others were welcomed with the same gusto.
Finally Meera was also brought down, and the way Dev was looking at her, it was evident that she looked out of the world. The girls were giggling seeing their would-be jijaji lost in their didi. Meera was also lost looking at the love of her life looking so handsome in that sherwani.
Both were made to sit on the sofa that was especially kept for them as there was still time for the engagement ceremony muhurat.
Just as they were seated on the sofa, Dev asked Meera, "Thank God, tumhari wo toofan mail friend has left you side for today."
Meera looked at him angrily. She was angry for two reasons, first, he said her friend to be toofan mail and secondly he did not even for once praise her. But before she could say anything to him regarding these, they heard a voice on mike.
"Hello everyone, you must be wondering who am I, well let me give a little introduction. I am the same person who is handing her best friend to someone who just called me a toofan mail," Dev gulped his saliva as he was now afraid what would his wonderful saali do to him, while Meera smirked, "and because she loves him very much I am not going to do anything to him," Dev breathed a sigh of relief, which was gone as soon as her heard the next set of words, "not today at least. So yes, I am her best friend. But today is not about me, but about the two love birds who are sitting there and who be officially be each others from today onwards. Now no more hidden meeting or calls. Now they can do it openly."
Both Meera and Dev blushed at this statement of hers. "Aww, look at the blushing pair, don't they look just adorable. Well before they get engaged, this is my gift to them. Especially to mu best friend in the whole world. We don't have any blood relation. but for me she is my soul, my soul sister who will not be mine alone anymore." Meera had tears in her eyes, and Dev hold her hand tight gesturing that he understands.
"No more emotional drama now. This is my her story, their story, how they have come this far."
Lights suddenly went off and the whole hall was dark. Then they saw girls entering with candles and singing.

They could see a pair of eyes behind the girls singing. Everyone was looking at her. He was also
looking at those hazels which did not let him sleep, which made him fall in love.

He did not even greet the couple who were getting engaged but sent his family to do so on the
pretext of an important call.

From the moment he entered, his eyes were searching for her, for a single glimpse. His family
was seeing the restlessness in his eyes. Even they were astonished.
When he heard a voice on the mike, his heart started beating wildly, he knew she is here, but
where is she hiding.

Though Geet was saying their story, but her heart knew what she was singing about. She was
singing about him, her love. She still remembered how he was looking at her, how she was
searching for him.

She was remembering that how his first sight, how when their eyes met, they were lost. They
were not aware of what was happening aound them. They were lost in each other.

He was waiting for her one look, lost in those hazels that he saw yesterday. He just knew that she
is his heart. He did not know what to do, how to call her. He can't shout Geet.

But to his bad luck, the girls once again dragged her to some other place.

Both were restless, he for her one look, and she for thinking whether she will ever be able to see
him again, meet him again. She was feeling all alone in this crowd.
And she turned. Their EYES MET.

They found each other. It was like they found their soul. They found their heart. Both were so happy
She was able to say it and she could see his happiness in his eyes.

Both were so lost in each other once again that they did not see three people watching them curiously. Two were happy, which was visible from their face. And one was confused, but then realized what it was all about.
