His Vaagai Sooda Vaa might not have done well commercially but it earned the National Award for director Sarkunam, who is now teaming up with another National Award winner, Dhanush, for his next project. Talking to CT, Sarkunam said, "Yes, Dhanush has agreed to play the lead in my next film and has signed up for the project though we are yet to confirm the producer."
Like his debut feature Kalavani, we hear that this one too will be a romantic comedy set in rural Tamil Nadu. While the director says that he is still in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast and crew, including the film's leading lady, he has already come up with a unique and quirky title for the project. The film has been titled Sotta Vazhakutty!
Quiz the director on the meaning of the title and he explains, "Just like how we say 'super figure' to describe a beautiful girl, 'sotta vazhakutty' is a colloquial term used in rural Tamil Nadu to describe a charming man."
