DEK FORUM CONTEST(S) DISCUSSION THREAD


HEYYY EVERYONE!!!!!


Jyo and I have come back with something very VERY important to discuss!

With DEK show running dry lately, with all the crazy twists CV's are throwing, falling trps, and what not...Jyo and I are afraid members are going to bhaag away from the forum and we cant have that can we? 🤣 Nahi toh humari nokhri's are in danger 🤣

Nahh just jokings...BEEN A WHILE since the forum has had any decent contests, so we have decided to have a sort of OPEN discussion on a few CONTEST ideas you guys might have in your minds!

What we were thinking is, on this thread:

Discuss Contest Ideas (ex/Fanfic or Siggy Contests...etc...)
*INCLUDE guidelines, RULES, REGULATIONS, HOW THE CONTEST WOULD WORK...*

THIS INCLUDES things like, whether the contest needs teams, how those teams would be divided, EVEN CONTEST WINNER (S) SIGGYS/Prizes! You need to tell us if you are going to be requesting siggy's yourselves, OR if you want us to then INCLUDE it. EVERY LITTLE detail should be worked out!

Everyone can do this, its an open forum thing! We will have this up for a about a week.

Then, Jyo and I will take this thread down, and Put all the members ideas to POLLing. We will have an open Forum Voting for about another week.

Then depending on the votes, will be the order of the events on the forum! MEANING, EVERYONES IDEAS will be done eventually as long as the complete contest details make sense to Jyo and I, and it doesn't break forum rules, and they have appropriate "How the contest would work" regulations.

So if the ideas meet our criteria, it will be up for Polling, and depending on votes, will be the order of events.

SO FOR EXAMPLE:

Lets say Person A, B, C came up with the following contest: Siggy C, Fanfic C, Avatar C (respectively), and Jyo and I approved of all the rules.regulations.etc...We would put those contest ideas up for voting.
In voting lets say Siggy C gets 7 votes, FC gets 4 votes, Av. C gets 1 vote, THEN The forum will have a SIGGY CONTEST FIRST, followed by a FANFIC CONTEST, followed by an AVATAR Contest.

Get it? 😉

Anyways..the purpose of all this is soo MEMBERS can stay involved and take part in things that THEY WANT TO DO. So that our DEK forum stay active Saada 🤣 and Jyo and I don't loose our jobs 🤣

Anywho...You guys can get to discussing right here!

Will be leaving this open till NEXT Thursday the 7th of June! What's say? 😎

Make sure everyone gives proper detailings for the contests!!! Enough so Jyo and I can LITERALLY copy/paste and CREDIT (of course). This way we don't mess your contest rules and everything up 😳 .

ORIGINAL IDEAS WILL BE CREDITED, and any IDEA that is NOT original (Fanfic/ Siggy/AVI contest type events) WILL NOT BE CREDIT for ORIGINALITY But ONLY for suggesting.

Jyo and I WOULD LOVE if you all get creative though! Do stuff that OUT OF THE BOX! PUT YOUR Khwaab caps on! 😎

" THE BEST WEDDING PLANNER"
(fun category)

as the name suggests here in this contest you have to turn into a rocking wedding planner for manveer as now it is the most awaited moment in thhe show

GUIDELINES

* you have to post pictures for the locations and setting and describe them
* in this you have to take care and post pics on different programmes you have planned
* bridal atirre for groom and bride should be uploaded
* with pics you can describe the moment to make it more specific

THE THINGS U HAVE TO INCLUDE (compulsory)

the number and names of events ( ex: sangeet , bridal shower etc )
the setting and ambience( pics on arrangement for halls and stage )
the list for decorums( list of lights flowers lyt and ambience etc used with pics)
the guest list ( u can include the name of characters aswell as IF members)
the attire for bride and groom ( u have to post pics of dresses and accesories for uday and manyata for different functions)
the wedding card ( u have to desing a wedding card for them)
the menu card ( wich dishes u would lyk for functions)a
and describe each events brifely


RULES & REGULATIONS

*not more than 16 pics should be posted
*all the written work and pics should be properly divided and neat
*should not copy entirly the ideas from movies and books

One Shot Challenge

Well, the title gives it away, doesn't it?😆

Outline
It can be an OS on anything: Continuation of a scene, a completely new scene- can be about Manveer, Just Uday, VB, Maya & Brij or even JN. It can be in any perspective (1st, 3rd etc)
Rules
(1) LESS then 1,000 Words (which is like 3 pages on Microsoft Word)
(2) Should fit within IF rules (about nudity and foul language)
(3) NO TO BE CONTINUES. It's an OS not an FF or SS. ONE SHOT ONLY.
(4) Should not contain abbreviations of "u" "becoz" etc
(5) One Entry per Member: No multiple accounts allowed.
After the 2 Week deadline, the voting process will begin: Depending on the number of entries, essentially weed out by 50%, then 50% again, the 50% again. Until we reach Top 5 or 6 or whatever it will be after the 50% process is done. Then Final round voting where the top 3 are announced. Keep in Mind that it's one vote permember per round of voting: No multiple accounts will be accepted.

So there you go! We've had quite a few siggy ones for the artists here, might as well have one for the numerous writers as well!

Outline
Simply but it's a contest for our future editors in film. The VM can be about Anyone in the show; be a visual story, or simply follow a flow and beat of a song. It's up to the creator: So long as it encompases the Charecters from the show only, it qualifies. The Song can be in English, Hindi, Punjabi etc, doesn't really matter.
Rules
(1) NO EXISTING VMs: All VMs must not be from previous creations, because then the public knows whose is whose
(2) No more then 3:00 MINUTES. Songs must be cut and edited to fit this time line.
(3) MOVING: Meaning it can not be a VM of pictures with music, no still photography, but rather VIDEO.
(4) Song must contain proper liguistic rules as per IF rules (no swearing etc)
(5) One VM per Member, no multiple accounts allowed.

How about a "DEK headlines writing contest"...it will be like newspaper headlines, only it will be something about DEK ...the most interesting headline wins the contest..😳
*Rules*
  • The news should be of DEK , whats happening/happened in the show.
  • It should be in about 6-9 words.
  • The headline should be self- explanatory.

The deadline will be of 1 week...after that voting will happen for another week...and then the one with most votes will win, and we will also have a runner's up.

The 50% Voting

I thought I should explain this just to be clear, the reason I like this method is because it has multiple levels and allows time for Voters to veiw each entry carefully (I think in the cases of VMs and OS' its important because there is so much more detail involved)

EXAMPLE
For instance, let's say there are 34 entries in total for one contest.
The voting in Week One begins (each one is a week long)
At the beggining of Week Two, 16 will be left. (50%)
At the Begining of Week Three, 8 will be left (50%)
At the Begining of Week Four, 4 will be left (50%)
Then the LAST week of Voting, the winner, and runner ups are announced (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
The length of the voting can be changed, but I think a leved system allows for more time and detail to be present, also takes up space for the comptition to run (Almost a month in some cases) which is important, keep the forum live.
Sorry for the long explaination, but I thought I should explain what I was referring to!

What about a DEK writing contest? Some people have some great stories...with awesome manveer scenes. Or perhaps best shaadi organizer?

How well do you know DEK?

So, let's begin with a fun contest. 3 rounds of 20 questions will be asked regarding DEK. The questions will NOT be easy and will take a lot of thinking. It will consist of things that you never notice the first time you watch the episode. Well, if you're a fanatic and notice everything besides staring at Udayveer's face/body, you shouldn't find it hard to answer the following questions. 😆😆

The first round will be the comparatively easier questions, all the members that get the right answer, they will be moved on to the 2nd round and then the final round. 😃

Easy enough? 😉

Rules:
1) You MUST answer all the questions.
2) You MUST PM them to -------
3) If you don't know the answer to any question, sure you can skip that and send in the other answers, but that means your 1 answer is wrong.
4) If you have a picture that you would like to attach with your answer because you think you're not sure if you explained the answer correctly, then you can send the LINK of the picture, DO NOT send in the image itself, please send in the direct link.
5) If you give two answers to one question with an OR in the middle, then only the first one will be considered and the second answer will be ignored.

READY? GO!!

Caption the picture.


The title says it all. Below are 5 pictures and you have to caption each picture with something funny.

Rules:
1) You will be given 5 pictures and you have to write a short, funny, witty and unique caption for them BUT please keep the IF COC in mind while writing them. If anything is against the IF COC, then all your entries will be eliminated from the contest.
2) A maximum number of 2 entries per picture per member.
3) Each caption must not exceed 50 words.
4) PM them to ----------------------.

*I have not added the pictures so they remain a surprise and I will PM them if the contest is selected*

Rename Dekha Ek Khwaab

The title says it all. You have to rename DEK and give it a new name.

Easy enough? Sure, but first the rules.

Rules:
1) You have to write a short, funny, witty and unique name for the show BUT please keep the IF COC in mind while writing them. If anything is against the IF COC, then all your entries will be eliminated from the contest.
2) Your word limit is: 11 words. YES, that is it. So, if for example your title is "Dekha Ek Khwaab - A love story." Then your word limit is 6 words. If the limit has exceeded and you didn't notice, then we would either ask you to edit it or disqualify it depending on how much it exceeded by.
3) Each member can send in 5 entries.
4) PM them to -----------------.
