Well to answer that i will just copy paste info that i had put up in a separate thread...Actually the TRP system is very unfair...there are TAM meters put up only in 15,000 homes in India... from different classes, cities, towns and rural areas segregated proportionately... and that's how the calculate the trp... So earlier if you have noticed shows on star one were very popular across the world but never got high trp's as youth based shows are not watched in those 15,000 homes... they are mostly watched by the younger generation online... and unfortunately our show suffers with the same problem... But the channel considers the online popularity of these shows also... so just to give an example... shows like GHSP or DMG had TRP's of not more that 1 for almost a year and a half and still they did not shut shop because of their online popularity... but that was a different channel... Star Plus has lot of new content to be used used up... and it believes in being the market leader...To sum it up... popularity of the show is very much considered but for a channel like Star Plus TRP's will also count... but only shows wil TRP's lover that 2 for months and months are generally axed... so lets just enjoy our show... 😊
