Tumhari Disha to go off air

This month has seen major unexpected changes in TV serials—be it with the cast or the fate of the show itself. Recently, Twinkle Beauty Parlour saw a mass sacking of the actors. And now it's the turn of Zee's Tumhari Disha to go off air.

"Tumhari Disha will end on August 14. It will complete 450 episodes by then," says Rupali Guha, producer of the show. The news comes as a surprise because the story recently took a a leap of 25 years.

"It was the channel's call. The TRPs of Tumhari Disha were not as great, post-leap. So they decided to wind up the serial. Nevertheless, I am glad that Tumhari Disha will complete 450 episodes, a long time for a serial,"says Guha.

But wasn't the real reason for the dip in TRPs the absence of its earlier protagonist Chavi Mittal? "The TRPs started to fall before Chavi's exit. So her quitting Tumhari Disha has got nothing to do with the serial going off air," says Guha.

The serial will end with the characters DK (played by Ashish Nayyar) and Kaamna (Poonam Joshi) finally bonding with each other.

This news could hit Poonam Joshi the hardest as it was her first lead role. Moreover, after Poonam took up Tumhari Disha, Balaji Telefilms served a legal notice to the actress for failing to give them enough notice about joining another serial. "I am still acting in Kahiin To Hoga. Nothing can be done if the channel decides to wind up the show. I am looking at the positive aspects of life," says Poonam.

Oh well at least Rupu admitted that it had nothing to do with Chavis exit as the trps dropped before her exit so theres no reason for Chavi to be big headed!!!

Oh and guyz good news the ending seems positive DK and Kaamna bonding!!!!

Anyway Im soo glad that this show lasted for 450 episodes I wish everyone on TD the best!!!

I must appreciate Rupali for admitting that TRP's have dropped before Chavis exit......she must keep in mind while producing other show to make the story in a logical way....My dear Rupali thanks for ur show for giving such good concept for one year n sorry that u have taken unusual twists n tortured ur viewers for the nest year.....but i will always be loyal to u for making me stick to this show n for making friends on this forum.....if ur show is not there then i may not be able to get such nice friends....thanks a ton.....and congratulations for completing 450 episodes of TD....all the best n may u produce n ice shows without dirty twists n may it contain some logic..... 👏

I luvtd....i dont think any of the two r working for Zee......twinkle beauty parlour is a serial on SAB TV which comes in India in which Chavi acts as a reporter......hope they both get oportunities in future n all the best for all the cast n crew of TD......

I found out that Twinkle Beauty Parlour is a serial which Disha (chavi) is in and it comes only in India on SAB TV. Its a good show. But i don't think you'll be able to watch it since you live in Canada like me! But you can still watch her new film which is coming soon in October i think.

Sad that it is ending ..but happy to know that it will end on a happy note with dK-Kaamna bonding...I have had the opportunity to watch Ashish nayyar enacting a fantastic role of DK...I shall always remember dK/AN....I thank Rupali just for that...for me DK made TD...and glad he will be shown happy at the end....wish Ashish would act in other shows and his talent will be enhanced in the future.

aww....so it's finally ending.....well.....atleast it'll be ending on a happy note....and 450 episodes....wow!!.....that's a lot!!!
