Art films - Most Boring

I don't understand why people go gaga over art films, they always get good reviews and are usually projected as some sort of "cinematic genius", mainly by the so-called "intellectual elite", but most of the arthouse films that I've seen are as boring as watching grass grow, I'd actually prefer that to art films!

So do you like art films, if so which ones?.. or do you think they are overrated pile of trash?

2nd Amazing TOPIC MAN... Simply Rocking, from the time i joined the forum, waited for this kind of topic only... i hate ART FILMS, such a boring genre... some of them are

1. Raincoat - My gf dragged me 2 hall 2 watch it, i literally just slept on her shoulder in whole movie, i m really happy ajay don't do this kind of trashy movie more 😆

2. 15 Park Avenue - What was it?? Banda seer maarle deewar se... 22 jo torture, infact konkana ki har art movie is torture only, she may be very gud actress, but i can't sit 2 watch any of her art movies.

Aisi bahut hai jaar... bahut pakao hoti hai movie... they shud release these movies on DVD only...👎🏼

I did not understand (rather could not sit through) No smoking...Anurag Basu made some gr8 films but this isnt one of them...for sure...

I didnt quite like Saat khoon maaf either...just felt soo bored throughout.

Also guzaarish...pretentious pretentious crap...

Others that come to mind are sudhir mishra's Khoya Khoya chand...

I might hurt some sentiments here but i happened to catch satyajit ray's pather panchali a few years ago and i just could not sit through it...had to switch it off in like 20 mins..

Jaar 7 Khoon Maaf & Guzaarish don't fall under ART MOVIE SEGMENT, They were made and Projected as Full Commercial Films, Content was boring Art Cinema type, Audience rejected at once.

i guess ur right...those were commerical films coz they had big stars, good publicity n stuff...but they were made by so called "artistic" directors so i included them...

haha.. 15 Park Avenue is one of the VERY few art films that I did like, actually I wouldn't say I "liked it", but it did have an effect on me, it was quite scary, because it made me doubt my own sanity!... luckily I snapped out of that. 😆

It's a Eye Opener for Film Makers, never to try this kind of treatment to films... People went to see Hrithik-Aish Magic like they did in Dhoom:2 & JA, sadly they disappointed a a lot... now if fans or critics wanna say it's hrithik's best work or anything else, it's fine... but as a audience, i want Hrithik 2 entertain me, not experiment on audience with such kind of content.

I would say Hrithik's Mission Kashmir, Fida were somewhat on serious subjects, and i liked them no matter they were not hits or huge hits... i love Altaaf's character, now if an actor can entertain audience in this way, it is appreciated, not with guzaarish.

Its also very subjective...like,if u can relate to a films emotions (i.e uve had similar experiences in ur life etc),it dosent feel boring even though its an "arty" film...

Like i relate very well to swades and its one of my all time favs...but there are lots of ppl who pulled their hair out during the screening of tht film and i can totally understand where they are coming from aswell...i mean a 3+ hour film with srk bringing "bijli" to a gaon is not everyone's definition of entertainment...i loved it coz i could relate to the emotions depicted...but i know many who hated it...

but the emotions in guzaarish,...felt too synthetic to me...so there was no connect..
