Arjun is not sacrificing..he is cheating two girls, playing with emotions.

He makes some fak, false promises to Purvi @ office and totally forgets when he sees Ovi
He can not feel the pain of that woman whom he loves ( he claims at least)
Rather he gives priority to his friend.
Arjun needs to know that he can't satisfy all his near & dear ones and he cant be so good in front of every one. He has to take a strong decision.

When Arjun told DK about Purvi, I remember DK saying " Is it some kind of a game or what, you are playing with the emotion of 2 daughters of Manav/Archana" Looks like Arjun is doing exactly what his Dad was concerned about.
