Hey everyone!! Missed me?? (lolz)
Well!! m back with the next chapter. Thanks for ur support. Ur feedback means a lot to me. Thank u so much. Now without wasting any more time, lets get back to the story.
Chapter-2
Mehta Mansion
Sonam enters Living Room to find Rohan & Dinesh waiting for her at the dining table.
Sonam (with her million dollar smile): Gud morning uncle. Gud morning again Bhai. (winks)
Sonam takes her seat opposite to Rohan. Dinesh is sitting at the head of the family's chair.
Rohan: Gud morning Princess. Finally u came out of the washroom. I thought u r planning to make it ur bed room.
Sonam: Stop teasing me bhai.
Rohan (teasing): Please don't mind my question but what do u actually do in washroom that takes u so much time to come out??
Sonam: That's a very personal question bhai but anyways. Actually during summers, the chilled water is so soothing that i don't feel like getting out of the shower. (laughs)
Rohan: And what about winters??
Sonam: Same goes with warm water too bhai. Duh!!
Rohan (rolling his eyes): Sorry i asked.
Dinesh smiles at their tactics. He feels happy to see the two of them sharing a bond like any real brother and sister. Their smiles brighten up his world.
Dinesh: Ok ok. Now no more teasing both of u. Have ur breakfast. Then u have to go to office as well.
Sonam: I don't feel like going today uncle. Can i get a day off??
Dinesh: Are u alright beta?? U never ask for a day off. Should i call the doctor??
Sonam: Don't fuss uncle. M perfectly fine. Just that i have not taken a break for a long time now and i feel like spending some leisure time.
Dinesh: Alright beta. But do call me if u need anything. (Looks at the clock) Well i better leave now. I'll b going to Mumbai today for one week. Do u want me to bring something for u??
Rohan: Dad if u r going to Mumbai then please bring the records of the Mumbai branch for last one year.
Dinesh: Sure beta. Anything for u Sonam??
Sonam: I'll call u if i need something. I can't think of something to demand at such a short notice.
Dinesh: Hahaha... Sure beta. And Rohan, u stay at home with Sonam. I don't want her to feel lonely in the presence of her family.
Sonam: Come on uncle. I have stayed alone before when i was in London. That's not something which can scare me.
Dinseh: Still Rohan should stay.
Rohan: I'll b back in 3 hours Dad. m having a bit of work. I'll finish it soon and come back.
Dinesh: Ok son. m leaving. come i'll ask the driver to drop u before dropping me at the airport.
Sonam: Bye Bhai. Bye uncle. Call me when u reach Mumbai.
Dinesh: Sure beta. See u.
Dinesh and Rohan leave. Sonam decides to watch TV for some time.
Arnav's Office
Arnav was sitting in his cabin thinking about the happenings between him and Khushi in the past month. There is a knock and without looking he says "come in".
Khushi enters with his tiffin. Arnav is lost in her beauty. She looked stunning in pink and white anarkali suit. Khushi places the tiffin on his table and the sound brings Arnav out of his reverie.
Arnav (annoyed at himself for still feeling things on seing her): What the hell are u doing here Khushi??
Khushi: Isse pehle k aap humpe chillana shuru kr dein, hum bta dein k hume koi shaunk nahi hai yahan aane ka. Wo to Di pareshan thi k aap aaj b nashta nahi kr k aaye to unhone hume bhej dia.
Arnav: Tum ye tiffin HP ya JP k haath b to bhej skti thi.
Khushi: Haan bhej skte the. Lekin wo dono hi vyast the or Di apni doctor se appointment chodh k khud yahan na aa jayein isliye hume aana pada. Or gussa krne ki zarurat nahi hai. Hum ja rahe hain. Aap bus ye khana kha lijiye or uske baad ye dawai le lijiye.
Arnav: Tum... (The phone rings)
Arnav picks up the phone.
Arnav: Yes??
Caller: Is this Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada??
Arnav: Yes. But who's this??
Caller: Sir this is Ms. Reena Roy from XYZ channel. We want to take ur interview along with ur wife for our channel and magazine.
Arnav knew that it is a very well known channel and magazine. So he says yes for the interview.
Caller: Thank u sir. If u r free then we can arrange this interview in one hour if it suits u. Or any other time as convenient to u.
Arnav: One hour is fine. We'll b there.
Arnav disconnected the call and turned to Khushi.
Arnav: Hume ek interview k liye abi nikalna pdega. Aadhe ghante mein tayyar raho. Dressing room mein se kuch b select kr k pehen lo. Make it fast. Or yaad rahe k duniya k liye hum ek happily married couple hain. Or contract k according tumhe meri baat maanni pdegi so u don't have an option to say no.
Khushi: Aapko wo contract baar baar yaad dilane ki zarurat nahi hai. hum samajh gae. Waise b aapke liye to hamari zindagi hi ek deal hai.
Arnav (through gritted teeth): Khushi Kumari Gupta... tum...
Khushi: Singh Raizada. Hum tayyar ho k aate hain.
And Khushi leaves the cabin.
After 20 minutes, Khushi comes back in a red saree, loose hair, with minimal make-up. The only jewellery she wore was her Mangalsutra.
Arnav was speechless to see Khushi in that look. He was mesmerised by the stunning beauty in front of him.
Khushi: Chalein??
And Arnav realized that he was staring at Khushi. He left the office and Khushi followed. He got seated in the car and they drove away for the interview. The interview was to b telecasted live and then included in the next edition of the magazine.
The reached the venue and Arnav told Ms. Roy that he won't b answering any sort of very personal questions. Arnav & Ms. Roy were old acquaintances as they have met each other during many events in the past. Ms. Roy agreed on the condition that Khushi will b answering the questions asked from her. She also assured that as the viewers know nothing about Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada, so the questions from Khushi will b only about Khushi as a person.
Khushi was fidgeting with her pallu when Arnav entered the studio.
Arnav: Don't b nervous Khushi. Darne wali koi baat nahi hai.
Khushi: Humne ye pehle kbi nahi kia hai Arnavji. Koi galti ho gai toh??
Arnav: Relax. Kuch nahi hoga. Lo paani piyo.
Arnav handed her a glass of water which she drank in one breath.
The live interview started.
Ms. Roy: Hello ladies and Gentlemen. Today we have very special guests on our show. The newly wedded couple- Mr. & Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada. Welcome to the show Mr. & Mrs. Raizada.
Arnav & Khushi (together): Thank u. (Khushi smiles)
Ms. Roy: So Mr. Raizada, any changes in life after getting married??
Arnav: Not much. Just that i have got a companion now. Someone who is less scared of me. (Fake laughs)
Ms. Roy: Hahaha... Mrs. Raizada, we don't know much about u as ur wedding was kept such a low profile event just including the family that we could not know much about u. So please tell us something about u.
Khushi looks at Arnav who signals her to answer.
Khushi: M from a middle class family. I lost my parents when i was 8 years old. Since then amma, babuji, buaji & jiji are my family. Then suddenly one day a Prince came to my life and changed everything. That's how i landed up where i am today.
Ms. Roy: so sorry to hear about ur parents. Do u remember anything about them??
Khushi: I don't remember anything as i was a kid at that time.
Khushi was teary at the time of answering this question. Arnav could sense it an squeezed her hand reassuringly. After that the questions turned somewhat professional and after an hour the interview ended. Arnav & Khushi left the studio after their interview.
They did not know that some one was watching this interview with a very keen interest.
Mehta Mansion
Sonam was flipping through the channels when she came to the channel on which the interview was broadcasted. She watched the whole interview with a very deep interest.
Sonam to herself: Why do these eyes remind me of someone i have seen very closely??
Rohan enetered to find a very serious Sonam all lost in thoughts staring at the LED.
Rohan: What's so interesting Princess??
He came and sat next to Sonam. Sonam was still oblivious to Rohan's presence. So he came close and shook her.
Rohan: What happened Princess??
Sonam: Nothing Bhai. How come u r back so soon??
Rohan: I felt like staying with u. So i told La to handle everything. Now tell me what happened to u?? Where r u lost??
Sonam: I'll tell u when i'll b sure. But i need Arjun bhai's help right now.
Arjun is Rohan's childhood friend. He is very close to the Singhanias and, of course, Sonam. He used to do some detective work during his stay in London where Sonam did her high school & Diploma in Music while Arjun did his Diploma in Photography. He is 7years older than Rohan but still he is more like a friend. (Image of Arjun is given below)
Note: Lavanya (La) is an old friend of Rohan who started working with Mehtas as their exclusive Event Manager after leaving her job in AR Fashions.
Sonam called Arjun.
Arjun: Hey Princess!! What made u remember me today?? Everything all right??
Sonam: Everything is fine bhai. And what do u mean?? Do i always call when there is some purpose??
Arjun: I know that. So?? Wassup??
Sonam: Actually bhai, I need ur James Bond Help bhai. Please Please Pretty Please.
Arjun: There u go. U know that's not my actual job. Still??
Sonam: Please bhai. For me. Please...
Arjun: Ohh!! Alright bachha. Stop pleading and tell me the case.
Sonam: Bhai i want u to give me all the details about Mr. & Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada. Their background, all about their family members. Everything.
Arjun: Why are u so interested in the Raizadas??
Sonam: Please do it bhai. I'll let u know the whole story later. I wanna b sure about it first. Please bhai. Please do it asap.
Arjun: Ok Princess. I'm coming tomorrow. I'll start the work right then and u'll get the reports in a week.
Sonam (smiling): Thank u so much bhai. I'll b waiting for u. Take care.
Sonam cuts the call & leaves for her room.
Arjun calls Rohan.
Arjun: Hey dude!! Wassup??
Rohan: So Sonam gave u another James Bond job, huh??
Arjun: Yeah. But i don't know why the Raizadas. Any idea??
Rohan: Nah. But it must b something significant. She never does anything without purpose. M sure its something worth giving ur time.
Arjun: Yeah. I know her that much. Anyways. M coming Tomorrow. See u then.
Rohan: Sure. See u.
And Rohan cuts the call. he's still trying to figure out what's Sonam thinking.
Rohan (to himself): What r u upto now Princess??
