Is it just me or am I missing the public reaction to the second Episode on Child Abuse...the first Episode on Female Foeticide had tons of articles and so much media coverage...that i was expecting the same for this episode...but this time I don't see all that...I was expecting public officials to come out again and support like the first time...what happened this time around.?..has anyone come across any news about people taking a stand regarding Child Sexual Abuse?😕

I didn't notice it but may be u r r8.. der can be 2 reaons for it

1st .. last week it was d 1st epi of SMJ... so hype was at its h8

2nd n d more reliable answer is social taboo .. u know u in our country u can spek about women infanticide freely but child abusing... that too when it includes sex.. discussing SEX is itself a taboo here n sexual abusing of children... people may hide under d carpet but won't talk about it.. kudos to AAMIR... Mr. Perfectionist ... he show d guts to bring such subject in front of d audience ,,, I don't know even after watching it how many ppl will accept d truth n act on it ...

sexual abuse is a taboo in our country...people don't want to discuss it...forget openly not even behind the closed doors...they conveniently want to overlook this issue...the mere fact that in India we don't have a law against child sexual abuse is a testimony to this fact...for most of the people including sections of media it's an uncomfortable topic...I think the state of denial is main reason for this lukewarm response...however, I think thanks to SMJ at least we now have a public platform where we can discuss such issues...I think it will take time for people to shed their inhibitions...kudos to SMJ to have the sensibility and sensitivity to take up this issue and handle it not only perfectly but also urging people to leave misconceptions and be upfront and direct...

@ sayaneegupta ...i think it is a combination of the two things you mention...the taboo reason winning out...i am actually latin american...but the indian culture really draws me in...so when i saw that this show was talking about such topics i was very happy...and i guess it will be harder for this particular issue to pick up steam...i am ony hoping that enough people keep the discussion going so that it doesn't get forgotten...

@ Super Kool ...yes...i have to say that it was a complete shock that still in the year 2012 there was a place...and of the size of india...that did not have child abuse laws in place...the only thing is a land mark case that took 10 years to solve...i guess it was too much to ask for there to be a reaction such as there was to the first epi...but i hope that it doesn't fizzle out...

Hopefully this time it will not fizzle out...I think by the standards of Indian television the episode was a cult...I think we have taken the first step...we will only move ahead..in a correct direction...let us be optimistic...

@undisclosed its gr8 to know that u r a Latin-american n interested in Indian culture... just like ur culture we Indian also have a gr8 culture n we r proud of it but its said light n darkness is 2 sides of one coin... here we feel proud for d enriched culture, glorious history n literature of us another side is such dirty that we try to ignore them ... keep them under d carpet... but now I guess its d time that we leave the mask n accept d ugly truth that yes our society has this disgusting side ... AAMIR KHAN has done it... kudos to him... at least 10%people is moved thats enough... d bill is pending hope the law comes fast n the application of d law goes in r8 way

@ suvi...yes...the first step was a big one...the fact that the episode ever aired is already a big accomplishment...i will remain optimistic...

@ sayaneegupta ...i guess the victory here would be to get that bill passed first...then all the cases that have been hidden may finally come out...

2nd episode ne mujhe bahut rulaya ... in India it feels difficult to discuss about child abuse ho ya phir sex .. kyun iss baath ko bacche khud apne parents ya bhai bahan se iss haadse ko share nahien karpate ..jab tak unhe khud poora kisse pe vishwas ho ki woh unki baath pe yakeen karenge...

but am sure after watching this show children & parents will have more confidence to discuss about this issue!
i dont how to put my feelings into words!

Thats because Indians are too embarassed and ashamed to discuss child sexual abuse! Its a taboo topic and ppl prefer to shove it under the rug when it happens in their families. Discussing it or confronting it would open up a can of worms that may break up the family.
Thats why that poor boy's mother didnt believe or support him when he told her his mausa (aunt's husband) was molesting him regularly since when he was 7 yrs old!
Can you imagine that? This boy finally gathered up courage to tell his mother abt it and she didnt believe it! 😡 She was too scared to take action against her brother in law as that may mean her sisters marriage would break up!
This is exactly why so many child abuse cases happen in families but everything is hidden, kept a secret. Thats why so many kids dont even tell their parents abt it!
As we can see from the lack of reaction or feedback from the media abt this episode, even the so called progressive, educated ppl are embarassed to discuss this issue! No wonder there are no proper laws to punish the offenders and pedophiles who commit such heinous crimes!
Indians are all hypocrites and want to ignore these embarassing topics as it makes them uncomfortable!
