There are many people who are not so happy about single mothers..or single mothers adopting babies. People say that a child needs both the father and the mother...and are sorta against single moms adopting babies. Even my parents say the same thing...they wont believe me when I say I'm gonna adopt a baby boy..

What are your views on single women adopting babies??
People say the baby needs father too, but how will he miss the parenting he gets from a father, when he never has one?
Share ALL your thoughts on single mom's adopting babies. Thankyou.

Akanksha! :D .. nice to see you posting here 😃 ..hope yor active on here.. :):)
It's the same case with me! I'm still 18, and my dad treats me like a princess.. 😃 ..my mom ALWAYS tells me, that I'm so close to my dad, and my dad treats me like a total princess, she worries if I'll ever be treated that well in my life ever again(marriage) . 😆 ..she literally is worried at how close my father and I are :) ..and I have to admit, I'd do ANYTHING for my dad. I'm not just saying(I dont feel the same way bout my ma 😛 ) but I cant explain how lucky I got as a daughter to have a father like that, and I hope that I can pay back all the love he's showered on me :'( ..the world'd be just a BIG neurotic place if I didnt have my father who I can return back to by the end of the day 😆 😃
And yes, the adoption agencies you've approached in Russia are so stupid. It doesnt matter what colour a person is, all mothers are same around the globe. Anyway, adopt one from India Akanksha 😃 ..
And, I agree with you. 😃 ..One person is enough to make a baby feel loved and cared for.. :):)
But there are people who quite dont agree with our views..I wanna know, I wanna know why people think two parents - a father and mother are needed?
Thanks for your reply!! :):)

One loving parent is better than no parent at all. If there is someone who wants to raise a child and experience parenthood why not? There is no reason for the child to remain an orphan. There are way too many orphaned and unwanted children in the world who could do with a home. In that regard I even support single men adopting as well as same sex couples adopting. Even if a married couple is able to conceive, I highly encourage considering adopting a child as well.

As a kid, I'd make a lot of trips to India and spend a lot of time there. About a 2 minute walk from our home there's an orphanage I used to visit quite often as one of the girls from there worked as an assistant at my mama's surgery.

I can say with confidence that almost each and every kid there would have been more than happy to have a single parent's love. Those 50 odd kids were looked after by a few ladies and they were doing a good job but I don't think they all managed to get the same love they would from being adopted, even if that was by a single woman. Though I think it depends on the situation. There were also a few kids who ran away from home. Kids who were being looked after but never appreciated the presence of either of their parents in their lives and maybe they were right not to. Either way, it creates a lot of doubt in one's mind about the entire adoption process, not just being adopted by a single woman.

If the mother can afford to not just bring the kid up, but bring them up well..then there should be no problem with single women wanting to adopt.

^A women can do lots of fatherly things...and if a single women capable to take care a child...nothing wrong n adopting a child... adoption is already so complicated in India But what about Single Men!!! a man can also has the wish to adopt a child. There should not be any bound to adopt child. In specially a country like India, where there are lot's of street child available. Having a father can guide their future. This is really a bad one. Single fathers' should have the same right's like single mothers'!!!?!

Sushmita sen is a single mom who adopted two baby girls, she seems to be doing fine with both of them and without needing a father. Thats a celebrity example. Angelina jolie adopted her first kid max as a single parent. Also katherine Heigl.

I donot really know about celebrity single papas adopting kids but there definitely are people who do that.

Why people feel its important to have both parents. Simple, the world is incomplete without both. I need my mother and my father both. There are certain things i feel comfortable sharing with my mother, certain things which my dad makes possible. My mother made sure i got ready for school, made my lunch and my dad finished my pending school art projects.
All that being said, one loving caring parent is better than none at all. Ideal is to have two loving caring parents but the world is not an ideal place.

Akansha, interesting thought. I live in germany and i have seen white parents with their adopted brown/ black kids but now you mention i have not really seen the reverse.

Hmm, actually its easier to adopt such kids, there are so many orphans in India and bangladesh and other developing countries. On the other hand the number of white kids waiting to be adopted are really less. Although i have heard russia has a lot of orphanages. The idea is thought provoking.

thankyou for all your responses.. 😃 ..agree with each one of you :):)

I sorta agree with you Tannipartner -- my world would've been incomplete without either of my parents...I'd have been incomplete. Now that I think of it, I see myself as a mix of my father and mother.. A child learns a few things from her mother, and also learns few things from her father..which cannot be available in one parent.
:(
...but, it's also true that.. one loving parent is better than none at all..
@Prometeus -- YESS.. I wonder why men never adopt babies though. Never heard any man adopting babies. They can make great parents, but why dont they usually adopt?

I think before a single mum adopts someone they should be financially independent first. We cannot support others unless we can support ourselves.
There are the schooling costs and help need to fetch them and feed them etc.
But it is good to help the homeless and care for them. PLenty of responsibility too.
And hope that the kid's parents do not come back after a ten years and demand the child back !
