Why did Sumer change?

Could it be that the PH was testing waters to see how the audience would react to Rishi being replaced when they showed Sumer as a man with a golden heart?

There were many days between his first "Robin hood" appearance and the "corrupt" cop.

Maybe when they saw that we did not like it one bit, they decided to change Sumer's character to an obnoxious, corrupt PO.

But it is fascinating that they changed his character. I must admit that I was taken aback to see him taking that briefcase full of money right there at the police station. I kept expecting to see Sumer pull something off that would indicate that his taking bribe twice was just some sort of a sting operation and he would haul the bribers off to jail~😕

PS: How much is the time lag between shooting and broadcasting the episode?
