@abhimg and vgiri...thank you so much for the compliment on my writing and analysis dear! I'm so happy someone appreciates and likes to read what I write 😃 Its a pleasure to hear my degree in journalism and passion as a writer being validated.
Jhanvi I've loved your response to my post...and I was actually going to respond but will do it here. **grins** PAX my friend!!!! *smiles* It's so sweet to see u defend Purvi with all that indignation and righteous anger. 2 things I noticed as points u had brought up. Main one being your very justified anger and indignation that Arjun is still wearing the ring.
I don't knew if u will totally blow me out of the water for daring to say this...but I'm not sure he even realizes he is! Since the engagement the boy has been nothing but totally miserable...and I'm not convinced he even realizes the symbolism or significance of it. He is just so concerned with straightening this mess out...talking to Purvi and Ovi...i just don't think he realizes what effect having that symbol on his hand might be meaning to Purvi. We don't see him looking at it (even in misery and sadness), twisting it, nothing.
Which does lead me to agree with u on one point...Arjun definitely isn't perfect and his earnestness in love does make him a but dense (perfect word btw...sums it up pretty well actually). That and being a guy...they just don't see the importance and symbolism behind little things that we women see. This is prove by his continual mess ups...his heart and intentions are in the right place but he fails to manage the situation properly because of this.
Also him not actually getting on the plane and leaving. As we can see he had every intention of leaving...right up until at the gate. The last split second emotional decision of not being able to bring himself to go was just that...the thought of being gone for good and never seeing Purvi again really hit home to him and he made a split second choice. He did have every intention of leaving Purvi alone to live her life...it was the finality of going halfway across the world that scared him in that instant.
I am in Shyamala's side of the camp I admit and am an Arjun-phile so to speak. (which is why I find myself posting all the time to defend him) However I really do love Purvi for him. The main point that I find I have to agree with is that yes...although Arjun did keep quiet at the engagement out of respect for his dad and Ovi's feelings...he did immediately tell his dad afterwards. I think at some point he will boil over, throw all caution to the winds, and let everyone know Purvi is his...as he said she means everything to him.
Unfortunately Shyamala is correct...Purvi loves Arjun too...no doubt about that but he is not her world. He Aai, Aaji, sisters, Baba...mean everything to her too. That is the difference between them. She may have been wronged to a degree in not knowing about Ovi but ultimately I have to agree..it is Purvi who is more loved.
