Article-Manini sings for KTLK/All will b smooth?

The folk artiste will sing two songs to celebrate Nidhi and Ashutosh's upcoming nuptials

Kuch Toh Log Kahenge's Nidhi (Kritika Kamra) and Ashutosh (Sharad Kelkar) are gearing up for the big day. After going through much heartbreak, the couple will finally see their dream come true when they get to tie the knot next week. The preparations are already on with Nidhi's haldi ceremony happening today. The show's makers have roped in Malini Awasthi, one of the foremost folk singers in India, to add a much needed dash of Awadh to the proceedings.

Till now, whenever there has been a wedding or any grand function, we have seen the same trend – a few popular stars shake their leg to the latest Bollywood numbers. With KTLK, we heard that the makers wanted to bring in the flavour of Lucknow to the proceedings, as that's where the show is set. Malini is known for her proficiency in thumri, dadra and ghazals and has often been credited for reviving these folk traditions. That's why the makers decided to go against the norm and signed Malini. She has sung two songs for the show – one is a well-known folk song and the other one is a song she has composed. Malini said, "It was a great pleasure shooting for Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. I felt back at home in Lucknow, where no wedding is complete without naach-gaana (dance and music). The entire haldi function had the authentic essence of Awadh and that has been brought to life with the ambience created. The cast and crew of the show were also very nice to work with."

The haldi may be going well, but we wonder if it will be smooth sailing for Nidhi and Ashutosh till the wedding. There are already a few hints of trouble in the plot. Ashutosh's haldi ceremony was stalled due to the unavailability of Armaan's mother for the function. Nidhi's grandaunt has made it clear that if Ashutosh doesn't get his haldi done on time, the wedding cannot take place. Will Malini's wishes prove to be a good omen for the couple?
