I'm getting there...getting there. The romance is starting to work for me.
Bhabo for the first time didn't know the meaning of this latest custom - sleeping separate - separate. She more than anybody, was maha annoyed about this custom. As Meena told Vikram, SurYa would be quite happy. She was half right. Bhabasa explained ... it is to impress upon said couple how empty-empty life is for them without each other. Violins start playing literally in the background.
So Sur goes up to his room and makes his bed. He sleeps on bed when she's there, but on the floor when she's not there. This is because this is Sur version 1 not SV2. He settles to sleep, turns and sees his wife across on the other side, settling down to sleep. Then he hears her bangles tinkling all over the room. He's up in a flash. Bhabasa has turned this custom into a living doll. Sur sees her folding sarees, combing her hair, drying his kurta, reading a book ...they had to throw that in. But there was a difference. She was smiling. It really does make all the difference in the world even to me. So for Suraj, it was an unbearable ecstasy. He looked like he was 70, reminiscing about his gorgeous doll from years ago. A couple that grew old together and got so used to having each other around that being alone was only half a life. No. He couldn't waste another moment. He had to go to her, be near her.
Gorgeous doll was of course downstairs, asleep with the ladies. The dreamless sleep of the innocent and the virtuous. Sur comes to her and gazes. Meena doesn't shut up even in sleep and there's a running commentary on sarees and Bhabo's laddoos. No wonder Bhabo didn't embrace this custom of sleeping with Meena wholeheartedly. But a train could have driven through and Sandy would have still slept. Mosquitoes buzz around Sandy...coz of course they only want to drink her blood, and who can blame them. So Sur, lights some repellent and wafts the smoke over sleeping beauty. Untangles her hair. She turns and grasps his hand, but no hope of ever waking. Sur was very sure she wouldn't wake, he stays crouched next to her. As he leaves, he knocks over something and causes a commotion. Even then...Sandy is zzzing. Only Bhabo's yells seem to get through to her and she's on her feet in a flash. Sur decides to 'hide' while Sandy switches on lights and sweeps her eyes systematically over the place, backing towards the nearest wall. The 'chor' has nowhere to go and just shuts his eyes and waits for the danda...or a day long lecture...
But we know from the promos that he 'escapes' and has to face an interrogation from his gorgeous doll. If only said doll would soften her stance and tone with him. But then, that's what we are waiting for and don't the CVs know it.
Edit Add: Oh I'm such a dunce. Of course! DUH!!!! Sandy will PROVE that Suraj is lying coz of the mehndi that's on his hand from her hand from last night!!!! I need to start thinking like a police person from now on. I really do!!!
