While it seems true from one side that IPKKND has taken to comedy completely when it comes to Khushi and her behavior towards Arnav I think this has a lot to do with things that have piled up in her mind over a period of time.
Though on the face of it we have Khushi playing pranks and seemingly clueless as to what she feels for ASR, I think it is only because of the way he has treated her in the past. He has played roller coaster with her feelings without telling her what is playing on his mind.She is certain about one thing.She doesn't want to get hurt anymore.During the Heer-Raanjha week she did get a glimpse and was sure Arnav did feel something for her but soon after realised it was pointless to pursue it since Anjali told her ASR doesnt take to affection too kindly.Every time Khushi has tried to walk out Arnav has been very mean with her forcing her to stay put in the relationship with all the absurd blackmail threats posed .
After all she is just 19 and is clearly not someone who is gifted with the most intelligent mind.She is driven by impulses and does all that comes to her heart.Arnav has done nothing for her to feel the said "love" for him whereas Khushi on various occasions has forced Arnav to rethink of his feelings for her. Other than that one time when he caught Khushi at the play with Shyam there have been no instances where he has ever "caught" them together. Infact it was Khushi's idea to move back to the Gupta house. Why would she want to move away from the man she supposedly loves and willingly live with another in her own abode? An unknown pull, I understand, but love I am not yet sure! Arnav has never really given Khushi a chance to explore that emotion from her end. He has either been magnanimous at heart with her family and her during tough times or he has completely shunned her making her realize her status and the forced marriage she has been living for all this while. The forced rabba veys only remind you of what could have been instead of what is or will be!
Do you blame a 19 year old, for devising a silly plan to get out of the mental mess she is in since she thinks she is trapped from every end? Of course she would get pissed when the man who she is not even sure is her husband constantly makes her family realize and feel they can never match up to him in any manner. There is always a point up to where one can tolerate pain beyond which you cease to react strongly to your surroundings. You let things be and start deriving sinister pleasure out of the game fate plays even on you.
What happens to Khushi after 6 months? What will happen to her family when they learn their daughterhas been a part of a marriage that would eventually not see the light of the day? How will Payal feel when she learns her sister had been forced into a contract marriage since her own was at stake? Will Arnav's AC, gol gappa treats and emotional outbursts take away the fact that Arnav had blamed Khushi for something she had never done? Does one act of kindness on one fine morning take away the oodles of pain borne for days and months together??
Post the teri meri sequence, Arnav was a man in love. He wanted to give his heart a chance but the cruel game of fate turned things upside down. But what about Khushi, who was just about beginning to take affinity towards someone? What about all that she was slowly beginning to feel, but never got a chance to share it with anyone? Not even her sister! Before she knew, she was thrown into a marriage which to her was the harshest reality of her life. Why she is married she doesn't know! What her fault is still a complicated mystery to her!
For all you know once Arnav learns it was never Khushi's fault, he will not confess his love for her, butsimply let her go for the pain he put her through. How does that make anything better for Khushi? Would her feelings matter at least then? Should she then forget all the pain she went through and just embrace ASR with all her heart because he loved her all this while but didn't know the right way to show it? We know ASR will never become a love sick puppy! He will always maintain Arnav Singh Raizada's aura! He will hurt from the fact that he hurt another, and even show he is sorry, but he will never think straight. He will not understand what Khushi Kumari Gupta is made of, since what connected to him was not what she is, but it was always what he could not be!
That's why, while I do occasionally get irritated with Khushi for behaving the way she does, I think the only way she can face up to Arnav Singh Raizada and the pain he puts her through is by herself becoming a pain in his life so that he asks her to get out one fine day! Where the story will go from there is something that only time will tell, but for now I cant simply equate rabba vey to love, neither can I define their relationship as yet! However, I would love to see, how the man in love would actually make this little girl realize all that exists between them is love and not gratitude, favors and obligations! But I guess one has to go a long way before that!
