I had to share this with the rest of my IF buddies! I WENT TO KARU'S SHOW IN DETROIT!!!!! 😊
So here's the review firstly and read till the end coz I have a surprise for all of you!!
I completely remembered why I love him so much to this very day!!! I couldn't help but marvel at what a great performer he is in addition to being such a talented singer! What a star II has made him!
He sang about 15 songs.
He started off with 1) Rind Posh Maal (completely reminded me of the finals!)
Here's a list of the rest of the songs:
2) Afreen Afreen
3) Layi vi na gayi
4) One love
5) Ya Ali
6) Siva Sankari
7) Deva devuda (he sang this twice!)
8) Woh lamhe
9) Kava Kava
10) Humma Humma
11) Badan pe sitaren
12) Hayi hayiga
13) Chitapata chinukulu
14) Khambakht Ishq
15) Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani
16) Chand sifarish!
My personal fav's were Afreen Afreen (coz I think he pours his sould into it!), Siva Sankari (completely justifies all of his training!) and One love (coz of how much fun he has during the song!) with Deva devuda as a close 2nd coz of all the dancing! He is such a good dancer too!!! 😳
Btw I got to see the angel who gave our Karu the opportunity to sing in movies....Shaila i.e. Vidhu Vinod Chopra's sis who cried after Karu lost only to be the prime cause of his launch in Bollywood. She was there and Karu was so indebted to her it was heart-warming! 😊
Oh also guys he was soooooo absolutely down-to-earth! Spoke to the entire audience and interacted with them like he was their friend at the end when they gave him a title of Gana-sekhara you should've seen the expression on his face! He was bewildered and when he spoke he was extremely humble! With all the humility in the world he politely declined the title saying that he was just in the beginning of his career and doesn't deserve these titles. He said he'll come back at the pinnacle of his career and maybe think about such titles but until then all he wanted was our support and love. That you always have Karu....a promise from the entire Karu parivaar to you!
I was glued to my seats singing along with him the very end and just nothing short of mesmerised by the talent in front of me!
Here's the best part!
I GOT TO GO BACKSTAGE AND MEET HIM!
I went up to him and the first thing I asked was to give me an autograph addressed to our Karu FC! 😃 He was so impressed! 😃 I told him that we exist in IF and that we call ourselves the Karu parivaar! Then he spoke to me like he would to any friend of his...in an absolutely comfortable tone saying "I've heard so much about IF but I don't check it...it's my mom and dad who do" So I didn't lose the opportunity to tell him that I was voted the most vocal Karu fan to which he muttered a very smiley "thanks a lot" completely Karu ishtyle! 😳 I was practically the happiest fan around there! So I got him to give us all an autograph and of course being selfish I got one for myself.
I think that this was prolly one of my most cherished memories.....def worth the 10 hour trip! 😃
