Hurt ego may be one way of seeing it, but just see he broke all ties with her.
Why isn't he happy? He is drinking and crying that Anandi cannot forget him this easily. Is he stupid? In unrequited love, it is always nice to see your pursuer going away. You don't go and start drinking thinking that other person cannot forget you. Why does her love matter to him? It could be ego, but I think he has a hidden love for her, an importance of which he never realized. Anandi never made him feel guilty for anything- his shouts, fights, misbehaviour, infidelity. Never appealed to his love. She always forgave him. So he took her for granted. He may be surprised, especially after what Gauri and his mother brainwashed him into believing that Anandi wants to possess him. This is such a tight slap on his face. May be, this is the first time he faces the prospect of permanent separation from her. Anandi's true love did prevail somewhat over him, because she didn't try to harm him and his relationship. This divorce may also send his suspicions into turmoil. Anandi never had motives in staying back at the haveli. Something he knew all along but Gauri's accident changed him.
I think the writer now wants to show true colours of Gauri. Dadisa had already noted that she is impatient and unforgiving. May be Jughead overlooked it all because he believed her to be insecure. Now that Anandi is out of picture, Gauri may not work hard on the relationship. We all know she will get better job, how will she handle ego problems in the relationship? She is not that tactful and diplomatic. Gauri also ignored Jagiya earlier in her marriage, always giving her career a top priority. She became lovey-doey only after Sumitra's challenge. Now that she has won it, will she be that considerate. Anandi always overlooked Jagiya's defects and shortcomings. She even forgave him. Will this be same with Gauri or Jagya always has be that lovey-dovey, which he is certainly not. I will love to see if for next 6 months this marriage will survive or not.
