Katrina Kaif was introduced to Arjun Kapoor five years back by Salman Khan and then she tied Arjun Kapoor rakhi but she did not follow it up and considering this Arjun Kapoor to be Kat's rakhi brother.
"But she didn't follow it up. Katrina always threatens to be my rakhi sister, but I completely deny that," laughs Arjun. But, why the denial? "Because she pressurizes me to do it (be her rakhi brother). You should ask her why. She made me do it once, literally, at gunpoint. But we are not a typical brother-sister pair. I am not a protective brother who's like, 'Koi dekhega meri bahen ko to thok doonga (if someone looks at my sister I will hit him).'"
Boney Kapoor's son Arjun is debuting with Yash Raj's 'Ishaqzaade' opposite Parineeti Chopra and refuting the rumor that Katrina is doing an item number in Ishaqzaade, Arjun insists that they'll work together in the future. "I will work with her because whatever equation we share shouldn't concern anyone else," says the debut actor.
It was Salman Khan who saw the actor in him when Arjun was puring his career in direction. "I worked on films like Kal Ho Na Ho (2003) and Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) besides No Entry (2005) with dad (Boney Kapoor). Once, I happened to meet Salman bhai. Within seconds, he told me, 'I know you want to become an actor.' He said, 'Give it your best shot. Else, you will wake up as a 35-year-old and might regret (not trying your luck). You might not lose all the 50 kilos.' When he said 'we' are going to lose weight, it gave me confidence that he is going to take me through this journey."
Arjun plays an uncivilized and disheveled character Parma in Ishaqzaade. "Besides working out, I would cycle with him and he'd keep an eye on my diet," he says. "A few days ago, I showed him a couple of songs from the film, including Pareshaan. Although we are busy with our films, we message each another whenever possible."
