If CVs ever do so..I will definitely stop watching PR..

I only love PR because of ARVI...

I don't think Arjun will easily accept Ovi in his life and give that place to her..because he has already confessed that Purvi is the world to him...

It really does not necessary that the person whom you are loving is also loves you...

Love is unconditional..you can not compel other to love you..of course you can help him/her to make realize...

On the other hand ..it does not mean that you stop loving her/him & get engage to another..
If it really happens.. everybody will be cheated..including that particular person..

And I must say..one night is not the enough time to take such a serious and life long decision.. It's not a business deal..here emotions, heart & love will say the last word...

Dear Trish,

Thanks for a nice satirical entry.

I agree that there is no knowing just WHAT the so-called creatives will do. I was a professional Foreign Service officer for all 38 years of my working life, and an Ambassador for the last 15 of those 38 years. One of my last assignments was as High Commissioner (Ambassador) to Canada. One day there I met a couple of young TV actors at a function in Montreal; both of them were then working in a serial called Kkusum. They were in despair about the development of their respective characters because, they assured me, the story line was worked out practically on a day to day basis, and they never knew just what their characters would end up doing on any one day. I was astonished by this statement, but when I now watch these soaps, I tend to believe them! Judging by these standards, the ArVi track is pretty coherent, though one could hardly say the same thing of the Manav-Archana track. I remember mentioning once earlier that I feel the ArVi track is written by younger people, and the last 2 episodes have reinforced this conviction.

To revert, of course Arjun is NOT going to get engaged to Ovi, and there is going to be NO Arjun-Ovi track . One should thank Heavens for that. Ovi reminds me of nothing so much as the maid in the nursery rhyme of Four and Twenty Blackbirds, 'Along came a little bird, and pecked off her nose'. She desperately needs a nose augmentation job! I have never come across a more unlikely set of 'twins' as Ovi and Teju.

And while one does feel sorry for Ovi, given her hopeless infatuation with Arjun, it is a fact, as pointed out by some other members, that she is childish and shallow. So Arjun has had a lucky escape from drifting into marriage with her.

Dear Shyamala,

Love your post a lot Shyamala .. :) and love all in bold.
I don't know if I will be able to tolerate seeing Ovi getting engaged to Arjun. Her character relies heavily on makeup and skimpy clothes to get attention, and I don't think that is a personality which will suit Arjun at all. It will be a terrible thing to happen. Everyone is so positive that ARVI marriage will take place. But, I have my doubts, still, because PR is an unpredictable television series. ARVI is just too good to be true. Arjun and Purvi create magic together on screen. This is the best pair I have seen on television in a long long time.
And I can't bear to see ARVI break.

Purvi will tell Arjun she loves him because the story is so designed and for her to tell him that she'll have to do so before Ovi comes.Once Ovi comes and Purvi finds out about her and Arjun she"ll scarifice her love for her sister i just no it and from reading the update i nowhere see Arjun givin Purvi one day he just tells her to think abt it and make up her mind soon he didn"t say by tomorrow.so i believe she will tell him she loves him before Ovi comes and wen Ovi comes the drama will start. Its gonna be a bumpy ride for all and an emotinal one for Ovi since she deeply in love with Arjun who is deeply in love with Purvi.

Dear Trish,

Please don't get worked up over something that is simply not going to happen. I am sure the PR team is fully aware of what a good thing they are on to; the TRPs should have made that clear to them. They will not want to return to the aimless drift of the late 2011 days, with fake tragedies/crises manufactured by Varsha, the chawl people and so on led to a sharp fall in the TRPs as the viewers were bored to death.

Ovi is obviously Shravani II, but Arjun-Purvi are NOT Manav-Archana II, at least Arjun is not. Unless they are going to suddenly rewrite his character, I cannot see him settling for not even second but nth best when he has seen what he wants. Remember that the first time Ovi floated the rumour that they were engaged, even though he was not in love with anyone at that point, he refused to play ball, and told both DK and Manav that it was simply not on. It was only in a moment of weakness for a childhood friend that he later agree to marry her provided she did not interfere with his business. If Purvi pushes him too far out of misconceived loyalty to her mother/"sister", he will simply walk out and go back to Canada, he will not saddle himself with Ovi. Just as Romeo would not have gone back to Rosalind even if Juliet had gone out of his reach for whatever reason. So relax, and let us enjoy the ArVi segments in PR as they develop.

But you also have to understand something else as well. There can be no edge to a book or a film or TV serial or play without tensions between the players. A fulfilled and happy love story cannot hold viewer interest for long. That is probably the greatest love stories – think Romeo-Juliet, Devdas-Paro, Shirin-Farhad, Laila-Majnu, Camille – have all been tragedies.

Not that I want Arjun-Purvi to end up as a doomed Shakespearan couple, but you cannot deny that in the ArVi segments so far, the best scenes have been in the last few episodes, especially in the last 2, and they have all been very tense. Without these conflicts, there would have been no scope for some of the best acting I have seen so far on Indian TV, Yash Raj's Powder and Kismat, and to a lesser extent, Rishta.com excepted (the first two were both marvellous, and the last was very good, but the TRPs were apparently abysmal, alas!). Now suppose Arjun and Purvi have a nice, smooth romance over the next 4 months or more (in TV land, time is elastic, so there is no knowing how long 4 months can last in real time!), WHAT could the writers do with them? After showing them walking hand in hand on the beach, and perhaps eating out or looking at sunsets, then what? It is VERY difficult to write very many happy, yet substantial love scenes, and that too for a daily serial. It is much easier for the movies, as the duration is only of 2 hours plus these days.

So, we have to accept that if the course of ArVi's true love is to run smooth, it will become a flat stream, not the turbulent, rushing torrent it is now. Arjun looks best when he is either in despair or dominating. He will not be anything like as impressive playing a standard issue lover boy. Someone had written that Rithwik should abandon his three piece suits (in the humidity of Mumbai!) for shirts or T-shirts. That would not suit Arjun Kirloskar at all. I have seen Rithwik in the Sprite TV commercials, which are quite clever and tongue in cheek, but he does not at all look like the kind of chap who would be riding a scooter! He is best off playing a tycoon, and Arjun Kirloskar is a perfect fit for him, and vice versa. And if ArVi go from one problem to another, he will have plenty of opportunities to brood effortlessly, with a few happy scenes thrown in for a change. It is a little like Sir Laurence Olivier. Did you ever see him as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights? It was a dream performance, and he was one of the greatest actors ever. But he was nowhere near as effective in light roles.

Moreover, Purvi too seems, as yet, to have no streak of mischievous gaiety in her. She is basically a serious girl, loyal and committed and extremely hard working, but not either turbulently passionate in love or what one would call bindaas. So her character too would thrive only in tension and adversity. Otherwise she will be reduced to doing pretty, pretty scenes as a good daughter, granddaughter and so on, all standard TV soap stuff. That may be pleasant as what is called 'time pass', but it is not serious acting and one would soon tire of it.

What I would like to see would be for Arjun and Purvi to develop not just a loving, but a trusting and mutually supportive relationship, that can help them cope sensibly with all the probems they will face (not with the kind of hysterical and totally misplaced loyalties that at the staple of such serials, leading to meaningless and self-destructive "sacrifices"). That would truly be a modern love story. Right now, with Purvi flying off at a tangent and shrilly declaiming against Arjun even as recently as in the last episode, we are nowhere near this ideal. Arjun, as he is now, is almost too good to be true, and I hope he stays that way, and looks out for himself as well as for Purvi, even if the latter has to be in spite of Purvi.

We definitely know though Puvi denies loving Arjun, that she is in love with him. Its just that she does not want to accept the fact.
So, creatives please do not destroy this thing btw Arjun an Purvi by bringing in Ovi, Punni and the irritating Manav's mother to destoy their love for one another ... ARUPUR love story should be different and strong enough to oppose any obstacles that will arise! Too many breakups and divorces will be just stupid!
Come on Ekta, definitely you can see how popular ArjuPur hve become! So, please do not destroy it by bringing in too many villians! Punni has to be exposed soonest possible!

Dear Shyamala
Thanks for your really nice Post😊 I really liked it and do agree with it.😊
But I am worried because of the past track of PR -- to create sensation they separate popular couples like Manav and Archana and take ages to bring them back together. I would like to see an Arjun Purvi wedding, but am willing to wait 4 months for it, not a year. It'd be too much. What I am worried about is if Purvi will get the chance to confess to Arjun before Ovi arrives, because once she does, things will become very tense for ARVI. I agree, conflicts and tension create good drama, but I wish to see Purvi confessing to Arjun once atleast before any of the villians or vamps arrive. I don't want a situation where Purvi is not even able to confess to Arjun once she realises.
Trish
