Karisma's Haunting Comeback...but not in the UK!

After a hiatus from the silver screen, India's favourite leading lady and multi-award winning actress Karisma Kapoor is set to make her stunning return on the big screen in Dangerous Ishhq, being released by Reliance Entertainment on11^th May 2012. However Ikonz have been informed today that the film will not be releasing in the UK "due to the producer's decision."

Over the decades, Indian cinema has evolved leaps and bounds, namely with a rise in actresses taking centre stage as the "female hero". Blazing this trail is Karisma Kapoor, who with such critically acclaimed films as Zubeida, Fiza, andShakti: The Power, set the stage for strong female portrayals, delivering some of the most memorable, emotive and poignant performances.

Now, Indian cinema's modern female heroine makes her long anticipated comeback delivering an enigmatic, powerful and dramatic performance in Dangerous Ishhq, solidifying her status as Hindi cinema's most sought-after actress.

Dangerous Ishhq, athriller that impacts with mystery, suspense and deception, is directed by acclaimed director Vikram Bhatt, who in 2010 wowed cinema audiences the world-over when he pioneered the stereoscopic 3D film genre in India with his hit film Haunted ' 3D. The film was also Hindi cinema's first 3D projectandbecame the highest grossing Hindi horror film of all time making RS: 270 million (3.24 million) at the box office.

Completing the winning pairing of an all-star-cast featuring Karisma Kapoor, Rajniesh Duggall, Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta, and cutting-edge director Vikram Bhatt, is a musical score by India's man of the moment Himesh Reshammiya and the melodic voices of esteemed artists such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, ensuring a soundtrack that is poignant, memorable and, of course, haunting in all the right places.

Karisma Kapoorplays Sanjana Seksena, a Mumbai-based supermodel, with a high-flying lifestyle, full of socialite parties, glamourous photo shoots and jet-setting around the world. Her perfect life is made even more special as she is the much envied girlfriend of super-rich industrialist's son Rohan Thakral (Rajniesh Duggall). But, in classic suspense thriller format, her picture perfect world comes crashing down when her beloved boyfriend is kidnapped. His ruthless kidnappers demand RS: 50 Crores, and it becomes a race against time for Sanjana to rescue the love of her life and bring his evil captors to justice in an intriguing game of cat and mouse. As well as the thriller aspect of the film, we also get to see elements of Sanjana and Rohan's life together with clever supernatural snapshots from the past and the future.

Dangerous Ishhq is released in cinemas on the 11^th of May 2012, but not in the UK. Exact reasons behind 'the producer's' decision has not yet been confirmed.
