Another episode goes by today ... and another day dawns in the life of the Scindia pariwar.
Today we saw some more homely scenes of a family in the throes of adjustment with each other. There were lots of little things that add up to a lot, rather than any major events of significance.
My favourite six scenes today were:
1. Yash understands Aarti's silent entreaties
I liked the scene right at the beginning when Aarti finishes the mock scolding of Yash in front of Ansh, and instead silently with her eyes pleads with Yash to understand the little boy's sentiments. While she was saying "Ansh has promised to be a good boy, and you should not have scolded him in front of others, but told him separately ..." Yash was getting the message that Ansh needed different and sensitive handling. But the beauty of the scene was in the eyes of Aarti (silently pleading for understanding) and in the eyes of Yash (silently communicating understanding). Lovely scene, again with few words from Yash, but lots of acting just with the eyes!
2. Paridi manipulates mom-in-law
What a clever and manipulative girl this Paridi is! I loved the way she used her brains to flatter this mother-in-law commenting - of all things- about her youthful figure even after having three adult boys and many grandchildren! And how Gayatri fell hook, line and sinker for the flattery is very revealing! Seems like Paridi is going to get away without doing any work in this house, just by sheer flattery of the mother-in-law. I wish we could see Paridi teaching yoga aanas to Gayatri! Will be such fun to watch!
3. Pratik Paridi have the eternal hots for each other!
Arre wah, this Praik and Paridi seem intent on undressing each other even if they have just five minutes alone in the room! They are eternally turned on, both of them! Looks like today Pratik is going to bunk office, come home with a gift (as per Pankaj's experienced advice??) and make up with Paridi ... and looks like he may try to cool her anger through some hot action? What a nice-but-naughty pair these two are!
4. Aarti combing hair for kids
This was a lovely scene when Aarti interrupted Yash trying to comb his daughter's hair (what a royal mess he was making, sprinkling water to remove the tangles and then tangling the brush fully in the hair!) The scene was not just cute but also a bit comical, which was a vey nice touch. I liked the way Yash tried to act casual about the hair combing, and then almost banged into the pillar to not be seen watching Aarti doing the combing! I like the way these simple but loving scenes are also directed with a bit of comedy to make them very lively!
5. Three brothers getting along like a merry bunch
The scene near the car where Pankaj, Yash and Pratik were geting ready to go for work was nice too. I liked the way Yash made fun of Pratik wanting to spend time with Paridi, and then Pankaj made gift-buying and wife-placating suggestions. Whenever these three brothers are together without any others in the scene, the camraderie between them is very interesting to watch. Yash in fact becomes boyish and ribs Pratik a lot. Pankaj who has no success with his own wife ends up giving the best wife-manao-fying suggestions. Nice irony!
6. Yash getting a gift for Ansh?
When Yash gets into the car he is self-talking that he too needs to get a gift for someone who is very angry with him and needs to be pacified. I am sure he is going to arrive back at home with a nice gift for Ansh and that will be his "Sorry". Aarti would also be nicely surprised to find that she does not have to ask Yash to apologize to Ansha as he has done it in his own special way!
Two scenes I absolutely did not like:
Gayatri has big ears, interferes in everything ... and is doing total injustice on this issue of Ansh's schooling!
The end of the episode and the precap disturbed me a lot. First of all whatever the daughters-in-law talk to each other, this mother-in-law seems to have very big ears. She immediately appears from nowhere and gets involved in every dialogue, like she did when Aarti asked Vidhi's help to send Ansh to school.
And then look at Gayatri's cheek to suggest that if it will be too late to send Ansh to school, he'd better stay at home, especially since he has a lot to learn about his behaviour at home!
There are some moments when Gayatri seems polite to Aarti, but then in a sudden twist she becomes the rude and sarcastic mother-in-law. That is precisely why I am not able to sympathise with her in her good moments, because we can never tell when she will become a rattlesnake!
Anyway my feeling is that this whole Ansh school going issue is going to boomerang on Gayatri. I fel suddenly Yash is going to return home from office, with a gift for Ansh, and he is going to drop Ansh at school instead of the driver who is taking Palak and Payal!
Looks like the other gossipy lady is Gayatri's sister and is planning to stay for longer in this house ...
... that all we need for total hungama! The big-eared mother-in-law and her long-tongued sister!😡
All in all, it was a nice and homely episode and it took the story forward on many little tracks and was not boring even for a second. The CVs seem to know exactly how long a scene should be and they are constantly shifting focus so that all the characters are nicely covered! Hats off to them!
