I did think of the 'open letter' but then that means degrading a show which you love the most... I have seen worse shows, but seeing the same thing happening to your show is extremely difficult.. I'm ok with fillers but these OTT scenes are getting on my nerves... When was the last time we saw a serious Khushi? When was the last time Barun was given a chance to showcase his 'Arnavgiri'? Now it's becoming a bore... If they don't have a storyline, I can understand... but they have so much to show, yet they are dragging it... I really want to write to Gul... If she is not interested in this show anymore, then at least give it an end dammit... I'm ready to miss Barun onscreen for sometime and I'm sure he will get another show pretty soon.. Ekta mai will be the first one to approach him 😆😆 I really feel that they are misusing SaRun or rather not using them at all 😡
I know, I completely understand your view. I think a majority of us feel exactly like you do. Yes, Khushi's antics are getting a little annoying now. When I see how Khushi was at the beginning of the show and now, I can see there has been a huge shift in focus. There were OTT scenes even at the beginning but they were genuinely fun to watch... like the new years day episode, the diwali scenes, the devi puja days when those little girls in RM had destroyed ASR's project model etc.. back then the focus was on Khushi's innocence and how Arnav saw through that and fell in love with her. She acted completely demented even then (like the time she tried to turn Arnav's cocktail party "desi") but at least those scenes were funny to watch and bearable. But recently, watching Khushi barge into ASR's office and shutting people's laptops down to feed them lunch was definitely cringe-worthy. There is a fine line between being funny and outright annoying. I think the CVs have forgotten to tread this carefully and have tipped the scales completely on the wrong side.
So yes, I share your frustration. I even wrote to Star Plus about it but I got a very non-committal response from them after which I simply gave up. This was the response I got from Star Plus:
Dear Dinaz, To begin with, we thank you for writing in to us. It's always a great pleasure to hear from our viewers even when it is a critical feedback. We are really glad that you took out time to write to us, and share your feedback. We do understand your views, as well as your connect with our shows. We always endeavor to provide our viewers with a full spectrum of shows and sometimes they may not be to everyone's taste. We regret that you are not enjoying Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?' in its current form. We will convey your feedback to the relevant team. It is only with our viewers' constructive feedback that we can deliver better. Once again, we thank you for writing in to us. We, at Star, are committed to provide quality entertainment that goes beyond television and touches lives of our viewers in every way. Warm Regards Consumer Response Cell Star India Private Limited |
Hence my suggestion to just hang in there and wait for the storyline to get better because, clearly, our feedback just generates a vague response. On a positive note, the production house apparently asked for feedback on the IPKKND fanpage on Facebook and a lot of people complained about the exact same thing. Hopefully, they took notice of our comments (I wrote as well) and they'll change things.. 😊
