I just want to ask one question to all the forum members. If you were a married woman and had a choice to have either Anandi or Gauri in your life (as a friend, philosopher, guide, teacher, sister, anything) , who would you pick (Any one of them)?
I know some people call Anandi a doormat but she fights for others rights (Phooli). Gauri is also smart and intelligent but she only uses her smartness for herself.

I am not asking which character you support or which character you justify or which character is real or whom you feel bad for or which actor you like. Just answer based on the actual characteristic and personality of the person and how they are portrayed in the show not based on how the CV's should actually portray the character or their ulterior motives which is not shown in the TV serial. Answer only based on Gauri or Anandi, not based on child marriage or cheating or first wives in general, etc.

Please give honest answers and explain why as I just want to understand your perspective.

Out of the two--I'll pick Gauri...because I won't be able to relate to Anandi as a friend. I will either pity her all the time--or constantly be in awe of her sacrifices.
With Gauri, I think I will be able to enjoy as a friend. I think it would be fun to sometimes talk or go shopping with her... sometimes breaking some rules...sometimes being serious about work... it would be easy to admit the little selfish things we do in our daily lives to someone who thinks it is ok to be little selfish sometimes. Journey of friendship would be more fun with Gauri, so I will choose to be with her.

Thanks for letting me know. I agree with you that a friend is someone you can have fun with and enjoy.
But a friend is also the person who you can share your true feelings and show you the correct way to be happy. Shivani was Gauri's friend but when she shared her true feelings, she actually stopped talking with her just because she didn't agree with her. Shivani was a true friend to Gauri who tried to show her the correct path. Gauri even indirectly kicked out her parents (scaring them) when she for her own selfish reason wanted some privacy. So if you have Gauri as your friend, she may just use you whenever she needs to and leave you for her own selfish reasons. A friend is someone who sticks by you in both good and bad times. She might also lie to you sometimes if she thinks it would benefit her and might also get you in trouble during one of her temper tantrums or when she is going through tough time in her life. She might even go out with your boyfriend if she thinks that he is her saccha pyaar. I am just saying these things based on what I have watched in balika vadhu till now.

For sure I will choose person who has character like Anandi. Friend like that is one who will be with you when you need on your side to provide support, spend time for fun, shoping (I rememeber how Anandi used to gave fun, shoping etc. with Puli, Jagi, Puli, Sugna...)

I find both opposite ends of the extreme but since I cannot relate to someone like Anandi I will pick Gauri - just because she seems real she feels those normal human emotions of anger and insecurity. I think without Jogia she is a fine human. She has always been a good friend and I know the real Gauri is the one we saw before marriage. I will pick that Gauri anyday!😊

I agree. Anandi is not an old lady. She goes shopping and has fun with her friends too.

I agree that both are at the opposite end of the spectrum and unreal characters. I was asking about the current portrayal of the character, not how the character was in the past.

I am just asking imagine if these two girls were a real person. Every human being is unique. when we pick friends do we actually test if the characteristics of a person is real or not? If anger and insecurity are normal human qualities, so is forgiveness, helpfulness & patience. And what is the actual tool to measure if a character is real or not? There are so many people with different qualities. There are criminals, murderers and there are also social workers who help people. Does that mean you wouldn't have a friend who is a social worker just because he is unrealistic. Would you like to have a friend who is angry, insecure and lies all the time or would you like a friend who helps you in the hour of need. Gauri also kicked her own parents out, so how can you be sure that she will stand by her friend in bad times too.

And how do you know that the Gauri before marriage was the real Gauri?????? Some people do not practice what they preach. Gauri has always said what an ideal person should do, but has she actually put her words in action. While Anandi on the other hand has given justice to Phooli, Asha, Sugna, etc. And Gauri is an adult who is educated. Tht's why we can't put all the blame on Jagya alone.

And I agree with you, I liked that Gauri before marriage. But now there is a drastic change in her character. I also liked the Jagya before he cheated Anandi, does that mean he is still a positive character?

I'll Pick Anandi anyday over Gauri. I actually have a close friend like Anandi, who's very righteous and a complete sweetheart, She is what we call a cyber activist--very very vocal and active to protest against injustice happening all over the world and spreads awareness via the internet. She is associated with many NGOs and really does a good job of spreading the word around. But sometimes she becomes too serious about the things happening around her, and then we shake her up by dragging her to absolutely trivial activities like Bollywood theme parties at some artsy aunty's house🤣 Gosh, how she curses us!!🤣 But she's such a darling and am so proud to have a friend like her who is socially aware and is brave enough to raise her voice against injustice, when a lot of people just prefer to be self-complacent in their own lives. I have really learned a lot from her and appreciate her for making her life worthy enough for others. I feel that Anandi is so much like her and would really love to have such a sweetheart friend who can be always there for me.🤗

I personally avoid people like Gauri who have no morals at all, are ill mannered, badmouth others and are selfish to the core🤢. Such people are nobody's real friends---they will be friends with you as long as you agree with them and join in their gossip and backbiting about others. But the moment you disagree or refuse to sing in their tunes, they will turn volte face in a second. Also, I passionately hate extra-marital affairs and cheating spouses---so I can never relate to a woman who is a partner in such a crime. Moreover, I also feel very suffocated with people who always complain about everything in their lives and blame others---"everybody is unfair to me" "I am the greatest victim of the world", "everybody around me is bad, only I am the good one", "whatever I do is right, whatever others do is wrong", "X is selfish, Y is jealous, Z is a miser, A is a flirt, B is rude, C is a manipulator"---only I am miss perfect"🥱
uuf such negativity and pettiness is too hard to handle🤢. No Gauri for me🤢.
