Part 16

Restless hearts surrounded Shyam Manohar Jha but he stood oblivious to them. The good outweighed the bad very heavily which is why Shyam did not stop at whatever he had told Khushi. It was as if the evil in Shyam had been boiling for a long time and today the pot toppled over to unleash the monster inside. What the Raizadas and Guptas knew about Shyam was miniscule compared to what he told them. Khushi stood frozen to the spot and looked at Arnav whose face had lost its colour completely. She wanted to reach out and comfort him but she could not as Shyam continued, 'Lekin jaate jaate bhi sasuma apne damaad ka bhala kar gayi.' Khushi took a deep breath and asked, 'Acha, kya baat hai. Par kaise?' Shyam seemed like he was in a trance and said, 'Woh apne pati ko yeh toh bata gayi ke unka chakkar kiske saath tha par yeh nahi ke unhe yeh baat kaun bataye. Sasurji ke dimaag par jaise bhoot sawaar ho gaya. Gaadi leke chal diye, Mr. and Mrs. Vanraj Sharma ke peeche.'

Khushi's eyes widened with disbelief and fear. Arnav noticed her and was worried about why she looked so shocked hearing those names. His eyes were glued on her as Shyam said, 'Humne toh unhe keh diya tha ke Sasurji aa rahe hai. Woh bhaag gaye aur Sasurji unke peeche...' The silence was broken by a pained sob from Khushi which left Arnav devastated. Shyam continued, 'Durbhagyavash lekin ek raat mein hamare saari samasyayein khatam. Sasurji ki gaadi lagi Vanraj Sharma ki gaadi ko aur dono gaadiyan khayi mein. Hamare toh bhaag khul gaye.' Shyam laughed wildly at this when Khushi rushed to him and turned him to face her by grabbing his arm.

Khushi's eyes were bloodshot as the Raizadas gathered around her. They were shocked with Shyam's revelations but Khushi's reaction was worrying them more. Arnav stood next to her and put his arms around her as her tears began to flow uncontrollably. Shyam was shocked seeing all of them together. He started to back away when Akash and NK held him on both sides. Arnav said, 'Hilne ke baare mein sochna bhi mat.' Shyam's face starts to twitch and he says, 'Khushiji, aapne humhe dhoka diya.' Khushi wipes her tears and goes up to Shyam with Arnav's hand firmly in hers. She slaps with all her might and with great difficulty says, 'Vanraj aur Shalini Sharma hamare Amma Babuji the, Shyam Manohar Jha.'

Arnav looked at Khushi's grief stricken face, her delicate frame shuddering with the effort of controlling her tears and her eyes red with sorrow. He squeezed her hand and Khushi continued, 'Woh darr ke bhaag gaye aur humhe Shashi Gupta ke paas chod gaye taaki humhe kuch na ho.' Shyam was shocked to hear this information. His entire game plan was out in the open. Arnav was immobilized with the boulders hitting him one after the other. Shyam was responsible for the death of Khushi's and his parents. All the sorrows in their life were because of one man. To top everything, his father never cheated on his mother. The entire scheme was evil and vicious and had spread destruction in Arnav's once perfect world. His parent's images were floating in front of his eyes along with the happy moments they had as a family. After what seemed an eternity Shyam looked at Khushi and said, 'Khushiji...' But his words were silenced by the sound of a slap to him which came from Naniji.

Naniji was glaring at him with anger that was somehow mightier than Arnav's. At that moment, you knew where Arnav got his temper from. At that precise moment, she was truly Devyani Singh Raizada, the matriarch of the Raizada family who stood like she could kill for her family with her son and grandsons standing by her side. She angrily said, 'Humri bahu ka naam lene ka sochiyega bhi mat, Shyam Manohar Jha. Aapki itni himmat ke humre ghar mein rehkar, humri bitiya ki zindagi barbaad kiye rahe? Aur woh bhi ek nahi do do ki? Hum aapka bharosa kiye, aapki chalaaki ko aapki acchayi samjhe rahe hum aur aap kya nikle?' Manorama came to the fore and said, 'Hum ee jaante the ke tum mein kuch toh problem hai lekin humri sister in law ke saath itna ghatiya scheme. You have no shame, you Shyam Kameena Jha!' Shyam came forward and said, 'Hamari baat toh suniye...'

Arnav had gone beyond his breaking point and said, 'We said, shut up! Ya tumhara dimaag kharaab hai ya tumne hamari baat sahi se suni nahi. Humhe tumhari koi bhi baat sunne mein koi interest nahi hai.' Arnav came forward and slapped Shyam twice across his face. He said, 'Meri zindagi ke sabse zaroori logon ko takleef pohchayi hai tumne, Shyam. Tumhe aisi sazaa dilwaouga ke tumhe yeh zindagi ek bojh lagegi. Di, Khushi, ma, Papa aur Khushi ke amma babuji ke har ek aasoun ka hisaab tum doge, you damn scumbag! Tum maut ke liye tadpoge. Remember that!' Shyam is confused and says, 'Par Khushiji ne jo kaha...' Khushi wiped her tears and replied, 'Wahi toh samasya hai ghatiya logon ki, Shyam. Woh sabko apne jaisa samajhte hai. Aur jab paap ka ghada bhar jaata hai toh woh chhalakta hai. Tumhari zindagi woh din aaj tha ke apna saara sach poore Raizada parivaar ke saamne khud kaha.' Naniji reiterates saying, 'Chalaak usse kehte hai jo har cheez ke khabar rakhe. Aapne sab baat par dhyaan diye rahe lekin iss baat par nahi hai Khushi aur Arnav bitwa ek doosre se kitna pyaar karte hai.' Shyam glanced at Arnav and Khushi who's hands were intertwined together. They looked at him with anger and confidence in their eyes. Arnav says, 'Apni barbaadi ke jashn ke liye tayyaar rehna Shyam. You're going down.'
