...that the actor you love so much is a jerk

...that the singer who's voice you so admire is a lech

...that the author you adore is a bitch

What is more important? The talent or the person?

Sorry, I know this post has nothing to do with the show, its actors, this forum or anything else

It is just one of those questions that popped into my head after reading something in the paper this morning.

Wonder if anyone has any thoughts?

i dont know..

very honestly i dont think i will be able to love them that much.

es i will still admire their work and respect that talent..but love..i dont think so.

TALENT becos u admire that person for his talent u are no way associated to him or her personally profession is one aspect of life which is in front of u

Hmmm... that's what I thought too but turns out that appreciating the talent becomes very difficult. Maybe it takes a very mature individual to keep the talent and the person separate.

Personally, I would never like the person in the same way anymore. Nope! I love a certain actor, singer, author because of their whole package. There is much more than talent in a person.

If he/she turns out to be a jerk or whatever, then he/she would be like other people in the world for me. I might turn indifferent towards them.

Talent as that is what we love,some rubbish written about them doesnt matter.Only it feels bad that the person we admire may be troubled,every thing has 2 sides,who knows it may be an attempt to malign name of the concerned person.

Reading about them in the newspaper - yeah of course we should ignore things we don't know the truth about

I am actually asking what if you know that the person you admire is a creep / lech / bitch / sloth / meanie.

😊 Thanks! Glad to see I am not alone! Suddenly the song I love, the book I read over and over again, the movie that is my favorite tends to lose that shine.

I can tell you from past experience, that I wouldn't be able to look at them in the same way.. I might still watch their movies/shows, listen to their music or read their book, but it wouldn't be with the same degree of enthusiasm as before.. Especially if what they have done goes against a deep rooted personal principle.. I've gone off an actor in the past because of reports of adultery.. It's very difficult to separate the person from the talent. when I admire someone, I usually admire the full package..
