Hey guys. As promised, here is next update. Its longgg to compensate.😃
⭐️Miss me and enjoy.⭐️
Reni…..congrats hun!👏👏
The morning rays brightened the foggy weather of Secunderabad, dispelling the obscure surroundings of the night, welcoming the new day, with a new ray of hope in the Geet's heart.
Maan woke up to the smell of incense, and the sight of his wife's head bent over her pooja thal, eyes closed, and lips moving nineteen to a dozen. "Lagta hai aaj kuch extra long list hai iski!" his smile turned indulgent as he watched her facial expressions changing dramatically, as if she was in a drama company.
Geet on the other hand was lost in her one sided conversation. "Babaji, today is Holi. Let this day grant me a new beginning in life. Please aaj sab kuch theek kar na. Mai un dono ke kehne pe ye kar to rahi hu, kahi kuch ulta na ho jaye! Aap please sambhaal lena haan!"
After she finished cajoling and whining to her heart's content, she opened her eyes to see Maan who was pretending to sleep. "Chal puttar! woh kahawat hai na, A faint heart never won fair lady, bas usse yaad rakh... aur baaki sab Babaji pe chod de... sambhal lena Babaji"
"Suniyeee…" her voice called out to him, the underlying sweetness a balme to his soul, which he chose to ignore. "Kya hai? Subah subah kyu chilaa rahi ho?"
"Chilla rahi hu? Mai chilla rahi hu?" she squealed, before calming down. She needed him to be in a good mood today. "Aap uthe nahi abhi tak. Chaliye uthiye, sab aate honge."
"Hmmm…" He lazily turned his back to her and burrowed deeper into the quilt. "Don't stand on my head. I will get up in a few minutes." He ordered. Sighing at his stubbornness, she poked his shoulder with her finger. "Maan…" she called out, determined to be the first to wish him before everyone else trooped in. Irritated, Maan sat up on the sofa and glared back "What?????"
She took some colour in her hand and applied it to his cheeks, "Happy Holi Maan." She said softly, her eyes looking into his, shining with the budding sense of hope, the luminosity blinding Maan's thoughts. Those eyes would kill him one day, he thought. Unable to garner the required amount of animosity at her audacity, when she looked at him that way, he turned away and got up in order to avoid her.
"Geet, mai fresh hoke aata hu." He tried walking away, but was stopped by her hand on his arm and her painful voice, "Maan please! Humari pehle Holi hai." She extended the tray of kumkum to him, eyeing him expectantly. He looked back at her, despite his mind telling him against it, into those eyes which were his Achilles heel.

Jaane kyu fir jhuk jaate hai
He looked into her eyes. Geet was an open book. Her face betrayed every nuance of every thought going through her mind. And today he read a kind of hidden excitement. The restlessness he had been seeing for the past week was missing; instead a steady hope was shining through them. Her skin was gleaming in the morning sunlight, her wet hair trailing across her cheeks, hiding the enticing view from his hungry eyes. He hadn't seen her directly since that night, being too busy in trying to avoid her. And here a flick of hair was once again hiding her pure profile from his hungry eyes. His hand moved as if of his own accord, to push the culprits behind her ears, trailing his finger down her neck, the urge to feel her skin a temptation he couldn't control. Geet dropped her eyes in shyness, her cheeks getting a natural rose adding to already astounding beauty.
Aage badhte hi kadam ye
Jane kyu fir ruk jaate hai
She smelled of lavender and a unique scent that he had begun to recognize as typically 'Geet'. He inhaled in deeply dipping his head into her shoulder, his hand going around her waist, bringing her close. His warm breath against her nape made Geet's breathing erratic. She felt the same sensations, whenever he came near her, all her senses jolted, a current passing through her body, leaving her wanting more. She closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his body near hers, arousing her nerve endings, increasing her heartbeats. He got impatient to feel her further and he started brushing the tip of his nose upwards along her neck, her intoxicating scent luring him to further his assault into his voyage to know her better. His lips reached hers, hovering deliciously over hers, their breaths mingling together, just aching to close the gap and venture more into temptation. She blindly turned to burrow herself deeper in his embrace, shyness getting the better of her. Inadvertently, his cheek which was coloured, brushed against her forehead, filling her maang with the sacred kumkum, unknown to both of them.
Dhadkano se hai guzarish
Dor ye bnadhe le jaye hume
After all it's the will of God. A mere mortal cannot change his destiny. People whose lives have been shackled together by the Lord Himself, no matter how much the mortals deny it, what happens is what He wills to happen.
Har uljhan ko suljhaye
Kasak meethi si de jaaye
"Maaan" she moaned, dying to feel his lips against hers, her free hand going up to grasp his vest. Her legs felt weak and she needed the support, otherwise she would definitely fall. Maan was too lost in his foray along temptation, to pay heed to her, but he held her tighter, tightening his grasp on her waist.
He kissed his way to her cheeks, sucking her cheek, making her moan out in need. He left her to take a breath, looking at the enchantress in his arms; her trembling lips beckoned him to taste her sweetness.
His moves were totally out of his control, his senses refused to listen to his mind which had shut down long back like he was under some spell. His brain was overcome by his heart's passionate need to explore the goddess in his arms.
Geet too was lost to rational thought; she just wanted to go with the flow. The touch of his cold lips was setting her skin ablaze with myriad sensations. He was treating her like she was some delicate porcelain that needed to be handled with love and care. His touch was giving her a tour of heaven; her wish to finally belong to someone, to be cherished by him was being quenched. She felt his lips, hovering above her own, igniting a desire within her to feel them against hers, to feel those sensations she had till date only read about.
She waited for him to close the gap. But when he didn't, she opened her eyes to look at him in confusion. They stared at each other, trying to read the others eyes. Geet's reflected desire, which was easy for Maan to read, but Maan's were again inscrutable.
Aakhir dil hai na
Akhir dil hai na
His inner conflict was not visible to her innocent eyes. Maan Singh Khurrana had conquered the art of hiding his emotions behind a mask, and no one could breach it. It was only his to feel. The almost maddening desire to touch those petal soft lips beckoning him like an oasis in a desert, but he was afraid that this innocence may just be a mirage and disappear if he came close enough to quench his thirst.
By this time, Geet had come out of her stupor and was watching him for his reaction. Hoping he would break this barrier and accept their relation. When it became clear to her that he was going to do no such thing, she bent her head in order to hide the pain in her eyes at his rejection, yet again, bringing her forehead up to eye level and Maan saw her coloured maang.
Ye dil hai ye dil hai ye dil hai
Sab is dil ki hi to mushkil hai.
Maan pushed her away as if scalded, seeing it, hurting her further. His eyes stuck on the spot, cursing his libido for making him do something against his better judgement. Geet felt his rage filled eyes on her brow, confused as to the reason. She swept her hand there and felt the kumkum powder.
Tears rolled down her eyes as she saw her coloured hand, testifying to her colour filled maang.
"Aap ke kuch na karne pe bhi mere Babaji ne meri sun li. Kab tak aap is rishtey ko jhutlayenge Maan? Ab to Babaji ne bhi humare rishtey ki gawahi de di. Jab aap khud takleef me ho, aapko meri takleef ha ehsaas hai to fir kyu Maan?"
He closed his eyes in frustration, as he had no answer to her questions. Turning away, he banged his hand on the wall, making Geet flinch.
"Maan please. Can't you give US a chance? A new beginning?" she asked hopefully.
"Never" he said vehemently and moved forward as if to wipe of the sindoor from her maang.
She caught his hand in shock, "Maaannn! Ye aap kya kar rahe hai!" Shaking her head at his act.
"Babaji has shackled together our destinies and lives Maan. You can hide from it but you can't deny it" she said proudly.
"Stay away from me Geet! Please! I don't want to hurt you more than I have already. Just do yourself a favour and don't compel me to harm you more." Saying so he wiped off the colour from his cheek with her dupatta and left.
Leaving behind a broken Geet, whose hopes and dreams once again came crashing down like a stack of cards.
========
She laid the table, as guided by Naintara. Her heart really not into it, but she knew she could not let the other two down. His behavior was breaking her insides.
Maan's behavior this morning made her realize that she was making a mistake. She had misread him. It was only guilt that had made him behave humane towards her. There was no change in his stance otherwise. Wiping off a tear silently, she got everything ready just as she heard the doorbell.
Maan went over to open the door, angry at her for beckoning him towards her and at his own incapacle self for falling for her innocence time and again.
"Happy Holi" screamed Annie and hugged him followed closely by Naintara. Arjun and Dev trooped inside, looking askance at his cheek, which was still stained with residual colour, in spite of rubbing it off vigorously.
"Naintara, which side did the sun rise today? Humare saale sahib ke chehre pe ye gulal?"
"Haven't you heard Jiju? Marriage changes everything" Annie winked at Maan. "Isn't it so Veerji?"
Maan was already in a foul mood, and glared at her to shut up. Sensing the atmosphere was about to heat up, Dev wisely intervened. "Arree ye sab chodo. Mujhe bhook lagi hai! Where is the special breakfast I was promised?"
"Geeettt? Is everything ready or do you need help?" Naintara followed his cue and went to help Geet.
"Sab ready hai Di. Aayiye na. Jaisa aapne kaha waise hi sab kiya hai!" she answered back, trying to infuse some fake enthusiasm in her voice, when she felt like nursing her wounds in a corner.
"Kyaaa??" asked Dev, who was on high alert that day, not having forgotten his wife's threat of revenge. And since Naintara had not mentioned anything about it, he was even more on his toes. He knew that his wife never forgave or forgot. So it would be wise to be wary. He looked at Arjun who just shrugged. Annie had not told him anything either. Maan was not bothered about it, since he didn't know that the woman had challenged their husbands last year. And Dev and Arjun had not shared their worries this year with him, thinking he already had a lot on his palate what with his sudden marriage and Geet's injury.
"I meant that Di told me all your favourite dishes, and I made them accordingly. After all, this is the first time; you are going to eat food prepared by me in my house."
Dev was somewhat reassured and smilingly put his hand on her head in a gesture of affection, like he would to his younger sister.
As everyone settled down, Naintara gave Geet a questioning look to which Geet nodded. Happy that her plan was being well executed; Naintara started serving the men the pasta which Geet had prepared.
"Arre wah Geet. This is looking yummy! Looks better than mine also!" making Geet smile weakly. She had put her heart and soul into preparing it, knowing Maan loved it. But now it was all a waste. Maan was just not willing to listen to her, no matter what she did.
As the men were about to dig in, Dev noticed that the women were not eating, he felt somewhat uneasy and asked, "Why aren't you guys eating anything?"
Having anticipated this question, Geet came forward with their preplanned reason, "Jijaji actually aaj humara vrat hai. Isliye hum ye sab nahi kha sakte. Mai abhi khichdi lekar aati hu. It's nearly done."
Dev and Arjun dropped their folks immediately, suspicion written clearly on their faces, "Kaunsa vrat?"
"Humare Veerji ne itni minnato baad shaadi ki hai. It was just something me and Annie had planned. Aur kuch nahi." said Naintara casually. But the men were on alert now, and refused to eat, smelling a rat.
Naintara and Annie panicked at this, but Geet came to the rescue. She knew that both of them were relying on her, so she didn't want to let them down.
"Kya hua Jijaji? Accha nahi bana hai?" Geet asked softly, her smile falling. "Mai kuch aur bana du?" she tearfully managed.
Dev and Arjun were but human, and couldn't for the life of them bear hurting this tiny princess, who looked at them with such expectant eyes. Both looked at each other, and decided to go ahead.
"Arre nahi Geet! It's very delicious. See, we are eating!" and stuffed a little into their mouths.
Naintara couldn't help sniggering at them, which she turned into a cough to hide it.
"Wow Geet. This is really good. Hai na Maan?" asked Dev. "Haan, looks like you really lucked out Maan! Your wife can cook like a dream, unlike some poor people who had to eat burnt food for two months after marriage in order to not hurt their wives sentiments!" said Arjun pointedly, while Annie made a baby face at him. Everyone laughed remembering poor Arjun's plight.
Even Maan, who had been ignoring their talks all the while, lost in his own confusion as he was, managed a smile remembering those times. Painful they had been, but all these people around him had made him come through it. He didn't think he would have survived otherwise. Once again the betrayal splashed against his eyes, making him remember why he had decided to never trust anyone else ever in life.
And he was definitely not making an exception for Geet!
As they finished breakfast amidst more fun and food, the guys thanked Geet for the wonderful breakfast. She guiltily took in the compliments.
"Ohhk. You guys go and welcome the guests." The guys smirked at this, but their smiles were wiped out with Naintara's next sentence. "And dare you try any of your Machiavellian tactics on the poor fellows! We have invited everyone and so be the good hosts you are supposed to be. We will be down shortly."
"Why? What are you upto?" Arjun asked immediately.
"Aap se matleb?"
"Kaha na wo mannat! Bas usi ki thodi tayyari karni hai! Aap log jaiye! We will join you guys."
======
Naintara stood in front of the window, looking out to see Dev, Arjun and Maan sulking in a corner, glaring at everyone around, muttering something to each other once in a while.
"Zaroor kuch planning kar rahe honge! But sorry guys. Too late! Just half an hour more for the drug to start its effect, then you will know what it's like to mess with Naintara Rathode Khanna!"
Turning back to her partners in crime, she said "Okay ladies! Now the fun begins. Step 2! You will not, I repeat NOT go near them under any condition. Stay away from their reach, but within their sight. Let them just look and burn"
She handed over some sarees she had brought with her, "Get dressed."
Geet's eyes went wide as she saw the blouse, or the excuse for a blouse she held in her hand. "Didi ye?"
"Darling, didn't I say I will make them burn? Now go get ready, don't you want to see their faces when they see us today? In addition to the special medication they have received, let's just say, it's going to be an excruciating day." She smiled evilly at her plan.
As Geet went to get ready reluctantly, Annie turned to Naintara, "Di tell me na what it the plan? What was in the bottle?"
Naintara laughed at Annie and casually said, "Viagra!"
"Whattt???????????" Annie spat out the water she was drinking, coughing badly, her surprise at Naintara' bomb evident.
"Yup. Humse panga liya na unhone! Aaj unhe bhi pata chalega ke hum kya cheez hai!" Naintara said patting Annie's back.
"Par di...are you punishing them or …"
"Annie! Tum bhi na! The effect of the medication should start in half an hour. We will go in front them in these sarees, making them hyper. And we just flit around them, increasing their torment. Just be careful to stay well away from their grasp. Let them burn with unquenched desire."
"Wow Di." Annie said with admiration
"Step 1 : Mix Viagra with their food.
Step 2 : Wear slinky clothes to up the seduction factor.
Step 3 : Stay away from them."
"And the result would make them burn till they realize who is the boss!" concluded Naintara looking triumphantly at Annie.
Annie looked at Naintara in awe, "You are the best!" and hugged her tight. "Chalo, let's go and set the fire ablaze!"
