Princess Jai nandini was on a high. DS had chosen her as yuvrani and it was only a matter of days before her coronation. she wanted to have a big party. so she booked one of the biggest disco so that she could dance the night away with her friends. there was also the simple matter of humiliating her older sister, manyata. soon princess jainandidni would become yuvrani jai nandini and get udays hand in marriage and jai wanted to rub that fact into her sisters face. manyata wearing silly anarkali and mughal-e-azam type clothes in a disc would look so odd and everyone would make fun of her. jai thought of mixing something in manyata's drink so that she would not be able to control her antics and make a fool of herself.
in the disco, manyata wearing a fitted red anarkali salwar suit and minimal jewelry stood in the corner watching people dance and felt like an outsider. uday was no where to be seen and she had no friends here. manyata felt peoples gaze on her and knew that a salwar suit was not suitable attire in a disc but she brushed it off. then the crowd parted and uday came striding in. he wore a simple black satin t-shirt tucked into black jodpurs. udays searched the crowd and when his eyes fell on manyata , he purposefully strode towards her and bowing deeply says " good evening princess, you look beautiful in red. aaj apne mera favourite color pehena hai. can i get you a drink?" manyata greets him in return and asks for orange juice. jai looking at the exchange starts getting jealous and within moments feels blinding rage. she open her tiny purse and removes two items - a blister pack with some sort of medicine and a roll of money. she waves to a nearby waiter and orders orange juice. she mixes a tablet into the juice and point the waiter in manyata's direction with a wave of the roll of money. the waiter grabs the money and walks in manyata's direction. uday seeing a waiter with orange juice waves him towards manyata and gives her the drug laced glass. manyata takes a few sips and feeling thirsty drowns the whole glass.she asks for another glass and the waiter goes away to do her bidding. the party rages on and manyata starts feeling strange. her head is spinning and its as if all the cares in the world have left her. she felt free and infront of her stood a slightly puzzled looking udayveer. she felt her eyes droop and gave uday a very drunk smile and slurred " i am your princess. hamara roka bachpan mein hua tha. i am your future queen." uday immediately realised someone had mixed something in manyata's drink. he even had a good idea who it was that did it. uday put his arm around manyata's waist and pulled her to him and said " yes my princess, you willbe my queen, but right now we must get you home." manyata draped on uday and half carried by him walked towards the exist and out into the parking lot. the cool air helped clear manyata's head for a moment and she stared at uday. her best friend from childhood, lost to her for sixteen long years but who was always by her side since she was found. he had waited 16 years for her to return so he could claim her. now that wretched jai would have him in a few days and she would have nothing. she quickly made up her mind that she would keep uday and to hell with the consequences. the haze returned but the thought remained - uday belongs only to manyata. uday lovingly helps manyata into the car seat and climbs in beside her. manyata stares out of the window and suddenly ahead she sees a mandir. she tells the driver to stop the car. uday ask the driver not to. manyata gets angry and starts screaming at the top of her lungs. uday freaks and asks the driver to stop. manyata opens the door and stumbles out. she runs towards the mandir and uday follows all the while asking manyata to slow down or she would get hurt. her prince was so sweet. manyata climbs the stairs of the mandir and her prince keeps asking whats on her mind. she sees a purohit and asks him" can you get us married?" uday is stunned, he thought he hadn't heard right, his manyata just asked a purohit to get them married? uday grabs manyata and says her " manyata, this is not a joking matter. you are not in your senses. lets go home and you can rest. we will talk later." "no, we will get married right now. this is my order. i am your queen." manyata stubbornly says. this was what uday had waited so long for. he had loved manyata for so long but he had to be the rational one, manyata was drunk. "what about our family and your akash?" asked uday though it was killing him."forget them, i want to marry my best friend who loves me and will always love me. he will teach me the true meaning of love and i will have the rest of my life to learn from him. so give this purohit money and lets get hitched. no excuses or i will scream." manyata slurs. uday thinks 'why am i stopping her, once we get married she will be mine forver and to hell with the consequences.' uday takes out money and gives it to the purohit and tells him to start the arrangements. the ceremony begins. they garland eachother and as the mantra are recited take their vows and do the pheras. uday puts sindoor in her maang and a gold chain that used to hang from his neck around her as a mangalsutra. he looks into her eyes and sees no fear only conviction that what is happening is right. the ceremony ends and the purohit proclaims them man and wife. manyata feeling wicked asks for a kiss. uday is stunned and embarassed. manyata continues "english movies mein the groom always kisses the bride. mujhe kiss chahiye." the purohit turns away and uday quickly kisses her on the lips. manyata pouts and says"agar ds yahaan hoti toh woh kehti 'thikse, uday beta, yeh kaisa kiss hai. chaliye phir se keejiye.'." uday blushes and grabs his new brides hand, kisses it and says"later, hum thikse practice karenge app par. pehle ghar chaliye." manyata and uday climb down the steps hand in hand and climb into the car. the driver mumbles into his bluetooth but the newly weds have eyes only for eachother.
manyata and uday reach manyata's home. they walk in to find everyone waiting for them. unnati catches manyata's eye and gives her a cheeky grin. everyone else has vary degrees of shock on their face. manyata not being able to stand the stunned silence blurts out "uday and i have got married in a mandir. we are going to my room. please dont bother us for the next few days." she grabs uday's hand and pulls him into her room, firmly shutting the door. everyone looks at eachother and starts laughing. jai enters at that moment and asks why everyone is up. ds says "your sister married uday and now she is the maharani of raigar and jaigar. sorry beta, it was not in my hands. its late get some sleep. good nite." everyone goes away, leaving a stunned rajkumari jai nandini behind to pick up the broken pieces of her life that will never have uday or the raj gaddi in it .
