Don't worry, dear. The earthquake movement pattern seems to be different this time. Instead of top to bottom collision (causing higher waves) it caused side to side movement, which had a milder effect, or that's what I heard on CNN earlier...

By the way, the alert has been lifted, thank God...

i was just gonna comment that!! :)
yes the alert has been lifted! and still ppl avoid beaches for a day or 2- stay safe and be informed :)
