Jai's nemesis had to come, and it came in the form of the woman he loves the most…..This is the way Life pays you back with the same coin, it gives you a long rope, but takes back with compound interest! And more often than not, we have no option but to pay back to Life!
I did not write much in my update yesterday regarding Bani's reaction, since I was short of time….at that moment I was confused when I saw Bani telling Jai that she hates him! But in retrospect, I think it was the most natural, the most expected and the most instinctive reaction that any human being would have!
The only thing that confused me was that both Jai and Roshni told Bani the truth, then why is that she reacted differently to both of them? When Jai told Bani that he had accidentally killed her Mother, she doesn't utter a word but goes running into his arms to die alongside him! But later, when Roshni tells her the same thing (with a lot of added inflammatory sentences) Bani reacts in an almost contrary manner! As I said before, it is Bani's first reaction that confuses me more than her second…..I can think of only one reason why Bani went running to Jai and embraced him tightly….She wasn't even listening to what he was saying, all she had in her mind was that in a matter of minutes, the man she loves most will be separated from her forever and she won't let that happen at any cost and hence when Jai finishes his story with a "Main Jaa raha hoon…" Bani does what only she could do, run to him, not to stop him from dying, but to die along with him! Bani's first reaction was her gut reaction……a reaction which was purely from the heart and involved nothing else!
But later, when she realizes that Jai is safe, and then, Roshni tells her how miserable she is going to be, when she realizes that she has ended up not only marrying, but loving the man who killed her Mother, Bani realizes the staggering magnitude of Jai's past and how it has come to change everything they shared till now!
I really admire Bani's fortitude and sense of justice, even when she accused Jai of being responsible for her shattered childhood, she never rakes up anything else….Bani never talks about how unfair he had been to her, how he had cornered her after their marriage and made her spend countless days and nights in terror and under his naked hatred without any reason, how he had used every conceivable method to emotionally shatter her……I think what Jai did to Bani after their marriage is his biggest crime, not the fact that he had killed her Mother accidentally! Bani doesn't even count that in the scheme of things……that really shows the largeness of her heart! Bani forgave Jai for everything he made her go through simply because she thought that she was paying for Pia's mistake and then she fell in love with him!
That way Bani has a far stronger and more resilient character than Jai, he had no feeling of guilt for taking Kiran's life and worse, hiding such a truth from Bani all the while, till the day he realized he was in love with Bani and did not want to lose her. But Bani, she repented and paid heavily for the mistakes made by Pia…all of her own free will. I don't think Jai even realized that he could make Bani suffer all the while, only because she chose to do so….Bani could have walked out of the marriage anytime she pleased, but she stayed on…..for both redemption and for love! It takes a character of great courage and inner strength to do so, and that way Bani is definitely a notch up!
Coming back to Bani hating Jai, I don't think that is ever possible. Bani is simply not made to hate anyone……least of all Jai! If she couldn't hate him for the monster that he was till now, how can she hate him when he is truly repentant about what happened and in love with her (Bani knows it now!) Bani finally reacted in a way, which made her look as humane as Jai is…..A person who has some amount of bitterness, anger and regret in her heart…..Infact, when Bani tells Jai that she hates him, what she meant was that she hates herself for falling in love with him and still does…..the words just didn't come out the way they should have! Bani has gone too far in her relationship with Jai, and by that I do mean that she has consummated her marriage, no….She has gone too far emotionally with him, so far, that leave aside tracing her steps back, if she turns back, she won't even find the path that led her heart and soul towards Jai…..Bani has erased all her steps leading to Jai and now she cannot go back, even if she wants to……When your love for someone is so strong, so deep and so profound, nothing can really affect you in the long-run……There might be moments of regret, of confusion, of self-pity and of anger, but these just remain moments and nothing else……Love finally washes off everything and paints its color on you! Even if Bani tells Jai that she hates him and means that, she can never really 'not' love him now.....Bani might have a new emotion for Jai (Hatred), but she really cannot forgo of the Old One (Love) she has for him......And when Love and Hatred both co-exist, Love always wins hands down!😃
All in all, I don't blame Bani one bit for her reaction to Jai…..I was confused a little bit, but now in retrospect, I think that it is Jai's nemesis! I am sure a lot of us think that he has already paid for his mistakes, but he has not! He has surely suffered 7 years in dread and guilt (That too I am not sure, Jai had no guilt till recently, only fright of getting caught!) and yes, faltered badly in wrong relationships…..but where has he paid for what he made Bani go through? Also, I found it very intriguing, that Bani instanteonlsy forgave Jai when Ranvijay told her the lie about his wife being the victim of Jai's Car, but later, she is not able to digest the fact that Jai had killed her Mother……It was really nice to see that Bani reacts in the way 99.99% human being would react…Apna Apna hota hai, aur paraya paraya…..Bani, unlike most other over-righteous Balaji heroines, puts Love ahead than any moral responsibility…..She put her love for Jai ahead of Ranvijay's dead wife, but later she put the love of her dead Mother in front of her husband's love…..For probably the first time, a Balaji Heroine has reacted like any woman would do in such circumstances!
I think Bani's current situation is the Pits, she is in the worst time of her life...She missed Love, Security and Warmth all her growing years, yearning for someone to keep a hand over hear head, someone to embrace her tightly from all dark shawdows, someone to wipe away all her tears, someone to light up her days and brighten her nights....and when she finally finds the man, she realizes that he is the one who was responsible for all that she had missed in her life....😭 Bani actually ended up falling hopelessly in Love with Jai and expressed the same to him! Bani can only stop herself from giving anything else to Jai in future, but try as she might, she cannot take back the Love, Caring, Understanding and Togetherness she has already given to Jai....A part of hers has become Jai's forever.....physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally!
It's a twist of irony, which we almost always end up paying for mistakes that we did not commit at that time, but for some other mistake that we committed and got away scot-free! As Jai himself said, that for all his hatred and anger, Bani only gave him love and understanding in return, now it is his chance to payback! Love is a two-way street……Until and Unless Jai suffers the same pain and longing for Bani that she underwent, he will probably never understand her true worth in his life!
A few things where I felt that Bani was unjustified;
When Bani accuses Jai of marrying her inspite of having accidentally killed her Mother! Now that is totally wrong, not only all of us, but even Bani knows why Jai had to marry her......What Bani should have told Jai was that how could he propose marriage to Pia when he had such a black past to hide! Pia is as much Kiran's daughter, as Bani is! I think by saying this, Bani has only proved her love for Jai.....She did not even mention the fact that Jai was going to marry someone else, Bani talked in a way, that suggested that Jai has never thought about any other woman apart from Bani!😊 See, Bani gives herself away everytime, especially infront of Jai!
Secondly, I disagreed with the fact that Bani blamed Nishikant's death on Jai. That was totally false, Nishikant died, because he was a weak character, a man who put the responsibilities of his two young daughters on his eldest child and himself resorted to escapsim. If every man took to the Bottle when his spouse dies, then every child without a Mother would become an Orphan. Jai had nothing to do with Nishikant's death at all and hope Bani realizes that later no!
All in all, I am looking forward to see how Bani reacts to Jai from now onwards. Bani tells Jai that she won't punish him for anything, she will let the Law of Nature take its course but he would have to live with her hatred from now onwards......That means, Bani has every reason to live with Jai....She talks about living with her hatred, not about living without her.....More important, I want to see how Jai reacts to Bani's indifference and cold attitude towards him! Will Jai become a recluse and an alchoholic like the same Nishikant that he hated and will wither away in self-pity or will be be the man that he is and win back Bani's lost love and trust once more?
My two penny's…..Would love to listen to your views and comments….
Cheers,
MT😊
