Chapter-1 A Big Mistake
"Gopi this is Pavi...Pavi Malhotra. mere bachpan ki dost. Pavi ye hai meri wife gopi aur ye hai rashi, jigar ki wife"
"Oh hi gopi, hi rashi bahut tammana the tumse milne ki..maf karna shaadi attend nahi kar paaye "
"Namestey Pavi jee, aapse milke bahut accha laga..Ahem jee aapki bahut tarif kar rahe the"
"Oh...accha"
Ahem interrupted...
"gopi, mai office chalta hu...sorry Pavi aaj ek jaroori meeting hai, aur pehle he late ho gayee. gopi, jigar ko bolna ki wo mehta wali file leta aaye."
"mr. ahem modi, tum bilkul bhi nahi badle, hamesha busy, school se laga kar collage tak aur ab shaadi ke baad bhi?"
"aisa nahi hai Pavi..aaj vaakai mai ek important meeting hai, tumse shaam ko milta hu"
"theek hai yaar .. shaam ko milte hai bye"
"Pavi jee aayeye naa ander..baithiye"
"please gopi...sirf Pavi bolo"
"rashi, jigar kaha hai?"
"jigar jee Office ke liye taiyaar ho rahe hai..abhi aate he honge..."
"ahem ko dekh kar lagata hai ki jigar bhi waisa he hoga, pehle jaisa hasmukh aur thoda saa badmaash."
Pavi was really excited to meet his old friend Ahem and his family.
"rashi mai nikalta..."
Jigar saw Pavi sitting there with Rashi and Gopi bhabhi.
"arey Pavi...tu...?"
"kaisa hai Jigar tu? Yaar tu to abhi bhi waisa ka waisa dubla patla lag raha hai."
"haha aur tu bhi kaha badli hai, aate he meri tang khechana suru kar di...pehale apna haal chaal to bata..kaise hai tu?"
"Mai bilkul theek hu yaar, yaha ek audit assignment tha. Ahem ko pata chala to jid karne laga ki rehna hai to mere ghar aa kar he, main usko mana kiya ki meri vajah se khamkha tum logo ko takleef..."
"Takleef? Tu bhi naa yaar kaise baate karti hai..ye to ahem bhai ne bahut accha kiya jo tujhe yaha bula diya"
Rashi and gopi were standing there and silently listining to their conversation.
Jigar suddenly noticed it and said..
"Pavi tum gopi bhabhi aur rashi to mil he chuki hogi.?"
"haa bilkul...Ahem ne abhi milwaya."
"Yaar mujhe ab chalna chagiye Pavi..office ko pehle he late ho gayee hai..aur late hua to ahem bhai kaa gussa to tujhe pata he hai"
"haha bilkul jaanti hu ahem kaa gussa..tu jaa office."
Jigar looked at rashi and she gave a nod.
"Devar jee...Ahem jee ne wo mehta wali file saath lane ko kaha tha"
"Haa bhabhi wo maine saath le li hai"
Pavi met with hetal and kokila. They both were really happy to see her. And the reason were really clear.
Pavi lost her parents when she was young. But she refused to take anyone's help. She started tuition classes for kids to manage her college fees and run her house. She spent most of her youth working hard for each and every penny. Her life was not a fairy tale but she never lost her smile. Doesn't matter how hard life became she just kept facing it with dignity and honor. If someone ask her what she is good at..she would smile and say "I'm good at being Happy."
And thats what Hetal and Kokila liked about her. Kokila remembers that many times she offered to help Pavi but she refused it. And neither Kokila nor Hetal forced her because they knew that it was her choice to live a life on her own terms.
Baa came there in main hall...
"arey Pavi beta..tu"
"baa!!"
Pavi ran towards baa and tightly hugged her.
"arey dheery beta...tu to meri jaan he nikal degi"
But Pavi didn't let go. She clinched to baa for few more seconds. Finally when she let go Baa kissed on her forehead.
"arey beta Pavi..teri kitni yaad aati hai...lekin tu hai ki milne he nahi aati..mera to sharir he jawab de raha hai...nahi to tere se milne jaroor aati..aur tu to shaadi mai bhi..."
Pavi interrupted her..
"Baa...ab mai aa gayee hu naa..dher saari baate karnge...aur thoda kaam bhi"
Baa knew why she in interrupted her. She smiled and said
"Dekh rahi hu bahut sayaani ho gayee hai tu...suna hai bahut badi firm mai tu accountant ban gayee hai..badi khushi hue sun kar"
Pavi and Baa shared a very special relationship. Pavi knew that Baa is the only one who understands her every feelings. And Baa always worked as a guide for her. They both loved each other.
They all sat for lunch and Pavi couldn't stop herself from talking about her school and collage days.
She was really excited to tell gopi and rashi about ahem and jigar. Although hetal and kokila knew every story already but they were listening to all this really amusingly.
Pavi told gopi about ahem that from beginning ahem was a really hard working guy, always first in the class, favorite student of teachers and professors.
Gopi was smiling while listening to all this and her cheeks turned a little red.
Rashi asked her about jigar...how was he in his school days.
"Jigar was jigar...full of energy and heart. padne mai to theek thaak tha par dost banane mai awal tha."
Rashi could just give a smile to all this. She was hoping that Pavi might tell her something more.
At dinner everyone was there. Pavi told them about bank audit for which she came. she said she'll be working with some other local auditors. Audit will begin tomorrow and might take a week.
After dinner she insisted to help in kitchen, kokila refused saying that she should rest but Pavi said she is used to do all her work at home and she'll get really bore if she doesn't do any work. kokila smiled at this and allowed her to do kitchen work.
After wishing goodnight to everyone she went to guest room. She sat down near table, opened her bag and took out her personal diary.
and she wrote...
"Aaj itne saalo baad dekha usko. Wahi aanke, wahi smile, wahi chehra. Bilkul bahi haav bhaav Jaara bhi nahi badla wo itne saalo...
She paused herself for a second. She gave her heart some time to recover. She knew what she was thinking was wrong. She wanted to shake herself from the dream so she bit her thumb with her teeth to divert her attention. But It didn't work, her heart was still paining more than her thumb. And she wrote...
"Mujhe yaha nahi aana chahiye tha...bahut badi galti kar de maine yaha aa kar, bahut badi galti."
She closed her eyes before any tear could escape from it. She closed her diary and went to sleep, trying her best to think about audit assignment for which she came here.
