Serial Scan: 'Pavitra Rishta' makes quite a big leap

The serial takes a gen leap when a misunderstanding between Manav (Hiten Tejwani) and wife, Archana (Ankita Lokhande) is beyond repair. Manav goes abroad with his two daughters and foster son. Archana's daughters and foster son grow up to hate her at the instance of their scheming grandmother (Usha Nadkarni), but all that is made up for by her foster daughter Purvi (Asha Negi), a pretty and conscientious girl.

The track picks up when Manav's daughter's fianc Arjun (Ritvik Dhanjani) falls for her. Predictable as it seems, you just want to know what happens next.

Considering the erratic treatment given to the new gen romance, one gets the feeling that Ekta Kapoor, the telly queen, did not anticipate that the pair would catch on in such a big way. Her struggle to keep the Manav-Archana romance alive vis--vis the Arjun-Purvi track is quite evident. Arjun-Purvi's track definitely adds that extra zing to the family bonder.
