It's no longer Yes Boss for Kavita Kapoor. But the model-actress feigns ignorance about the fact that she's out of the SAB channel show. The buzz doing the rounds is that Kapoor will be bumped off from the drama, while Nausheen Ali Sardar will make an entry next month.
"As far as I know, the show is not shutting down and I play the main character of Meera. Yes Boss revolves around me, so how can I not be in the drama?" reacts Kavita.
Heart-to-heart
It is reliably learnt that SAB is revamping Yes Boss, produced by Shree Adhikari Brothers. The plan is to introduce a fresh face to give the drama an added impetus. Kavita's character will die in a mishap with her heart being transplanted to new incumbent, Nausheen. This will ensure that she still has affections for her boss, Varma (Asif Sheikh).
Set in an ad agency, Yes Boss revolves around Meera (Kavita Kapoor) who is the creative head with her husband Mohan (Rakesh Bedi) also working in the same office as her subordinate. No one knows that Meera is Mohan's wife. To add to the drama, the boss Varma (Asif Sheikh) has a soft corner for Meera. Soon enough, Meera and Varma's romance unfolds in front of Mohan, who can only vent his frustrations at home to his mother (Sulbha Arya).
New flavour
Says a source, "There were certain issues with Kavita with reference to her style of functioning. She had a showdown with the dress designer recently. The plan is to change the concept as well as add a new flavour to the show."
Kapoor, however, says that she has a terrific rapport with her co-actors, Rakesh Bedi and Sulbha Arya. "We work as a team, and Sulbhaji is like a surrogate mother to me."
It is also learnt that prior to Nausheen, Rakshanda Khan was also considered for Yes Boss but she cited unavailability due to her other assignments.
What's in a name?
Priya Mishra, programming head, SAB, says, "There are certain things being worked upon, but right now I cannot spell anything out."
When asked about being back on the small screen after Kkusum and KalCchakra, Nausheen preferred to say, "No comments, for the moment."
But it is learnt that Nausheen has been roped in for the comedy and is slated to begin shooting next month. Her character will not be called Meera, but will be given a new name.
