IPKKND is not an English show, it's primarily aimed at an audience which does not speak more than a few words of English. I think we need to keep that in mind, essentially.

Agree with the rest of your post, just wanted to address the above part.

1. I don't think the core audience of IPKKND can't speak much English---that would be one of the umpteen saas-bahu serials based in 2-nd tier Indian cities. Not pulling those down, just stating facts. IPKKND is targeted Not solely at a hindi-speaking audience---there is a large segment of this show's audience that speaks English, a small glimpse of which we see on IF.

2. I don't have problems with folks not speaking English, to me it is just another language like Hindi, or Telugu or Russian. But I do take issue with people who call themselves writers (who write in English), talk about how much effort they put into their writing, and then send me a threat in ungrammatical English to unbuddy me/ not send me PMs if I don't comment on their work. I think that time sending PMs is better spent learning how to spell, and imbibing proper grammar. That will only help their writing, and if their writing is good, the readers will come, PM or no PM.

There are some sterling examples of good writing from some of the writers who have commented on this thread, and your own writing is also a good example---if such good writing can come from IPKKND's audience, why can't the rest make an effort? I acknowledge that there are those who write casually---and don't care for editing/proofreading---but then they can't expect to put themselves on the same podium as IF's excellent stable of writers.

@Bold
That is entirely true. If effort is put, the readers will come, sooner or later.

Also just because a writer has good grammar does not make him/her a good story teller and sometimes the other way goes too (a historical example being Shakespeare of course). Some of the writers here have a good story but lack in communicating, that is understandably a shortcoming for Grammar Buff's like me/you... At the end of the day we all love the show and that's why we write and i respect that even if i don't appreciate it...

PS-I hope i made some sense, swear to god it made sense in my head 😆

You do make sense, and I can almost name the writers who fit that 'good story but bad grammar category'-- all the more reason for them to work on their grammar I say. I respect them too, and have nothing against them if they would just desist shoving their stories down my throat. I don't have the time for all that deciphering 😆
