Salman Khan is a man of his word. No dispute there. The actor, who promised to be help spread autism awareness, when asked to be the face of the cause at a recent event, had an eight-point guide published through his NGO, Being Human on World Autism Awareness Day today.

And since awareness is one of the biggest challenges around autism, the timing is apt. It's always so heartening to see a man stick to his commitments, no?

Autism is not disease it is a disorder and can happen to anyone irrespective of class, creed , nationality and gender. Autism exists all over the world.
One out of every 110 kids born today have Autism. Autism is a neurological disorder.
There is no known cause of Autism, and no cure for Autism. Hence early detection and intensive therapy at an early age will help children overcome the challenges to a large extent.
Autism is a lifelong condition. But no matter what age, people with autism can improve. Early detection does not always happen in India and parents should not be demoralized if they do not receive early intervention.
Bad parenting doesn't cause Autism.
Less than 2 per cent of autistic people have extraordinary talents. Even they still may need help on basic day to day living.
Parents, grandparents, and siblings can learn techniques of working with and interacting with children and adults that can help the entire family.
