One chashma controversy has just about died down, and Big B is back in the news with flaming red and calm black spectacle frames in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna's promos. Do we like them? Do we like him in them? Would he inspire another 64 year-old grandpa to wear them? Life is one big cauldron of questions, and I can only try to find the answers

Gucci and Prada reckon Mumbai
When you have international mega giants Gucci and Prada making headlines in Hindustan, it's a clear sign that we have stylishly arrived! In his latest venture, Karan Johar, or shall we say Manish Malhotra, has given Mr Bachchan an uber cool designer get-up. But what caught my attention were the spunky spectacles he is sporting in the promos. "They are Gucci," exclaimed Manish, when I caught him in the middle of a press conference held in Dubai to launch his boutique.
A spell of coincidences began when we unearthed Manav Gangwani (he's the same Soha Ali Khan's "hamare favourite designer") wearing identical shades at a event held in February this year. The Delhi designer is a sunglasses freak ("at the risk of sounding pompous, I own 200-odd glares"), and bought this particular Prada pair for 200 pounds (about Rs 16,940) in London.
And then, Tommy Hilfiger, a high-end lifestyle brand from the US, butted in with their latest range of frames in red, blue and black.

When personalities clash
So, what's wrong with this photograph? Well, let's see. You have supermodel Ujjwala Raut putting her best pout on, demanding you to, "Pick her up". The catch is in the very next line, "Thinking Women's Monthly Magazine". Since when did a thinking women start using a pick-me-up line? Doesn't it contradict the let-me-be-me spirit? Or has it become a modern-day oxymoron? This latest fashion magazine to launch in India, beat us six, independent, single gals in the Your Life team. What do you think? Where you can pick up a laal chashma
These casual frames for men are designed to represent the current American state-of-mind. Available in square and rectangular shapes, these frames are crafted out of plastic and thrive on a bold colour scheme. You can pick up these lollies at Tommy Hilfiger showrooms in the city for Rs 3,000 onwards.
And if you think the price is too steep to attain Big B's style statement, then hold on till KANK releases. You are sure to grab replicas at paisa vasool shopping haunts — Colaba Causeway, Linking Road and CST. You can count on us to get you the steals and where you can find them. Till then, patience.
Oh brilliant! I am a huge fan of Mr Bachchan's, and the fact that he is wearing a similar frame as the one I own, is great news for a sunglass collector like me. Of course, the design will go on to become a style statement, and soon, you will see rest of India aping him. Personally, I have moved on to another pair. I've worn this one out
