Demi is close to Camp Rock co-star Meaghan Jette Martin. They text each other all the time and actually spent last [2008] New Years Eve in Texas together. On April 8th, 2008, Demi was put center stage before advertisers at Disney Channel's upfront presentation at Legacy Recording Studios in New York. The theme was 'the next big thing'. Demi Lovato: Confirmed for The X Factor?

The i's may not be dotted, nor the t's crossed, but a new report claims Demi Lovato is pretty much confirmed as a judge on season two of The X Factor.

With names being tossed about haphazardly over the past few months, sources claimed this week that the fourth panel spot - alongside Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and $15 million-per-year newbie Britney Spears - had come down to Lovato and Miley Cyrus.

And, if the following E! News item is to be believed, Demi has beat out her fellow young star:

No contract has been signed still, apparently, but that doesn't mean we can't express our take on the possibility: it will be great for ratings, bad for credibility.

The judges are meant to guide the contestants, after all, right? Offer them advice based on their years in the industry? Seems difficult for a 19-year old to do.

What is your opinion? Would Lovato make a strong X Factor judge?

Britney Spears thinks Demi Lovato is inspirational and believes that they would have great chemistry on the show, reports Radar: 'Britney is the anchor of the new judging panel and that was Simon's most important hire.

Britney is extremely hopeful that Demi Lovato will become one of the judges because she truly admires her. Britney loves how open and honest Demi has been with her fans after she went to rehab last year. She thinks they have a lot in common and that they would have great chemistry on the show.

Britney is being kept apprised of the status of ongoing contract talks with Lovato and it is looking like she will be joining the show! Britney is extremely excited for filming to begin, which will be in the next month. Britney and Demi have met a few times very casually at Hollywood industry parties but those were very brief.

Demi went to one of Britney's concerts in Anaheim in 2011 and met with her backstage. Once Demi officially signs her contract Simon will have new judging panel over to his house for a celebration dinner. The second season of X Factor is going to be amazing.'
