I'm sorry for my delay. Really sorry. The weather is not safe here, and there had been no electricity for many hours. When all was resorted back, I was too late and having second thoughts of posting. But that was when I saw my previous post FIRE AND WATER: SLEEPING TOGETHER and I was dumbstruck. Truthfully speaking, I moved away from the screen, sat on the floor and cried: in my entire life, I had never been appreciated for my writing by so many people in so very beautiful ways. 199 likes and about 7-8 pages of comments from friends I acquired on the Forum and new visitors too. I was too shaken to write a new post on the new episode. But re-reading all your comments, I decided I HAD TO DO IT. And here it is, though I was too weak and tired to write a good one as the ones I wrote before. I can never thank you all enough. (Yeesh! My eyes are still moist! Think I just broke Anjali's tears' record!)
Is it true that today's epi struck the wrong chord in so many lovers of ArHi? I mean, I didn't look into the Forum but a glimpse of the first page before Logging in, the titles BASHERS ARE BACK and The episode really SUCKED, caught my eye. Wanna know what I thought of today?
THE THREE IDIOTS...eh, I mean,FRAUDS
PICKING POINTERS:
1. Loved you Shyam, loved you! That vile serpent is really good. A really good villain. He uses truth to mask his lies! He's done this before. Remember? When Anjali asked him if he was hiding something from her and he said with the very same straight face, yes, I'm involving myself in a second marriage behind your back. Wow! Anjali's expression 'that' day reflected her expression of today. And did you see: when he tried to change the topic with the' blue kurta' statement and added to the diversion by trying to put his arm around his wife's shoulder, Anjali 'does not' take into the diversion. In fact, she turns around, faces him and asks him about the 'joked' truth. Loved how she is becoming stronger and less diverted by his honey talks. The seed that was sown then (his second marriage joke), needed some watering and today Shyam's 'inheritance remark' watered that seed a little. Shyam the gardener is unbelievable: he is actually watering the very plant he does not want growing in his wife's mind.
2. Loved Anjali today. Who wouldn't for that array of expressions that was so perfectly timed to show her suspicions sparking up. She smiled at him when he mentioned their 'child'. She has to: she's a mother. But next moment, her eyes showed a flash of that still flickering doubt. And you know what Anjali: it's gonna hurt you when you come to know the truth, so we'll let the realization strike you real slow. We do want to see your happy chirpy face! And until Shyam's truth strikes, do remain yourself.
3. Jay and Ajay, great fans of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith (Men in Black), decided to try a hand at 'deals with ASR'. Little did they know 'the Eternal I-do-deals-with-ASR' Kushi was waiting to knock them off their feet. Wake up boys, its time for some serious living!
4. Mami and Nani sharing a complacent hug? Oh, now that's a starter. Looks like Nani is assisting not only our two couples to spend more time with each other but also brindging the prejudiced gap between Mami and Payal. Your really are a rocking Nani!! Okay, the Barbie doll dress was hilarious! I mean, I never thought Nani of all people would be made to wear it. Loved how even in that old age, she is so fun-finding. She stoops to nothing if she sees that relationships need mending. And what! That dress and wig was for Mami? So looks like we'll see the Indian Barbie avatar again sometime. Buckle up, buddies, and get ready to laugh. That's my way of dealing with trifle things or bloopers in the show, laugh it off and enjoy!
5. Payal is still doing it: trying and trying and trying real hard to win her MIL's heart. Go for it dear! Nani's with you and so are Kushi and Anjali...and maybe your hubby might help you too if he can find his spines intact on reaching home.
6. Akash my dear boy. Loved you for your realism: remember friends, it was he who had told Arnav that he should take Kushiji along with him to make the important deal sanctioned. And now when the deal appeared to have gone with the wind, it is quite natural for him to be disappointed. He was actually reflecting his disappointment at having trusted that Kushiji will deal with it accordingly, on the basis of HIS wrong rather than Kushi's wrong.
7. No words to tell you how much I loved Kushi today. Not just her quirky, tensed but composed attitude, her quick start observation, planning out and putting on an innocent front all the while knowing that once this Sethji Deal drama is over, her hubby might spring his wrath on her. Yet she proceeded with the comedy, because she had only one motive in mind: keep the fakes in the territory until the police arrive. "These two shall not run far, not under my watch!" And at the end, did you see the way she said, she missed his voice and his 'What the!s'... Lovey, indeed!
DIGGING DEEPER:
What can one dig up in an episode that seemed to look like a filler and a comical way of presenting Kushi- 'the AR savior'? Let's see what I can come up with:
1. The Sethji brothers (was that what they were called? I don't remember.) are actually a symbol of "Shyam's truth". Without running any background check up on his true colors, Arnav and Kushi are ready to relate with him. However, Kushi was the first to find out about his fraudity and without telling Arnav about it, she played around a bit and remained silent about the truth until the real punishers (the police, in Sethji's case) can come and deal with Shyam. Who might the real punishers be for Shyam? Arnav? Anjali? Nani? Or someone else?
2. The time gap between the conference with the Sethji brothers and the arriving of the police is the time gap between the present track and the realization of Shyam's truth to Arnav. When Arnav had shook hands with the Sethji's, he was shown with a confused expression and yet he sat down to make a deal with them. This is the same thing that happened with him and Shyam. He is confused about the truth that Shaym told (which is not the real truth, of course) and about if Shyam is actually caring and doing things for his Di lately. His confusion is there, but he is still ready to sit through it and make a deal of it as long he knows his Di (AR company) might benefit from it. Once he gets to now the real truth (Kushi reveals to the police before him) he will probably deal with Shyam, the way he rightfully has to.
3. Akash is a representative of the Raizada family. They assume Kushiji as the best companion of Arnav and advice him to tag her along in his marriage. However, when the truth of Shyam comes out, they will indeed be disheartened and ask her "this had been important, why did you hide it?" But again, when they realize that she had been right, they will say, "She saved us all. She does everything because there is a purpose." I'm waiting for that day to come!
4. When Kushi tells Arnav about something in the 'dal', its like she's echoing Shyam's presence in their family, and probably that's the remark that crossed Anjali's mind in the first scene: something in the 'dal'. Again, she tells him that honest people will look in your eyes and talk. Today, did you see the way Shyam fumbled and looked around here and there when asked by Anjali what his reason was in being in Chotey's room? Honesty was definitely the theme of the day, both at Arnav's home and in his office!
5. Again, did you see that Arnav hadn't hurt her or accused her in anger (yes, neglecting the fact he had no voice, but at least he had strength!) but only in frustration after she messed up with the Sethji conference. He just showed her he was dissatisfied with pull or hold, left the room and tried to deal with Sethjis. Even when Kushi made her re-entry with "we won't deal with you", he just stood there, held her attention and asked her what she was heading for. He could have been more forceful and tell her to leave or something, but he didn't. This is exactly what is happening in our track here. Knowing the terrace scene is tormenting him, he is still not revealing or accusing Kushi openly about the fact that he had seen it. He just lets it pass and is letting Kushi remain and make her repeated re-entries in his life. Yet, when the day Shyam's true identify will be revealed, Arnav and Akash (who represents the family) will stand in shock at the revelation and in awe of Kushi's decision as they did today.
6. Kushi tells at the end that she does some things for a propose and some things for fun. When asked by Arnav, during their ride, why she had to go ahead with a fake conference if she already knew that the Sethji's were frauds, she says she wanted to have fun. Let's see it in this light: Arnav will ask her why she hid the truth about Shyam and played along with the family and she will say she didn't want to hurt anyone. She will think through before anything is done. If Arnav and Akash hadn't run after the Sethjis to stop them from leaving, Kushi would probably have let the police arrest them OUTSIDE AR without Arnav and Akash or anyone else coming to know of it. She had to run to stop Arnav and Akash from renewing the deal again, and she had hence no choice but to make a public statement of the fakeness of the Sethjis. This is similar in Shyam's context. Kushi would have been happy to deal with Shyam OUTISDE SHANTIVAN without offering harm to anyone, but Anjali's existence put err in a dilemma and when Shyam tries to lay a bigger trap in the future (Sethji's renewing deal downstairs) she will be left with no choice, but to make public of Shyam's fraudity before Arnav and their family. Kushi is the one who is going to clear every fraud in Arnav's business and every fakeness in his family circle. Courtesy of Kushi: "Sethjis (or whatever your real names are) Hello Hi BYE BYE!! And Shyam bitwa, get ready: you're next!"
