It was a rainy night, and faint splattering sounds could be heard from outside as her mind buzzed with anticipation and excitement. Though for what, she had absolutely no idea.
She picked up her phone and sighed as she noted the time. 3:04 AM.
I wish this darn essay would write itself! Gaaah!
She couldn't believe she was stuck writing an essay on her birthday. She was supposed to be out with friends, hanging down at Trafalgar Square and spending the whole night celebrating.
Why was life so unfair?
The doorbell rang, snapping her out of her reverie as she gazed at it with trepidation. It was the middle of the night, who could possibly ring her doorbell at this hour?
Grumbling profanities under her breath, she got up off the couch and looked through the peephole out the door, but whoever it was had a hoodie on and she couldn't see his face properly.
Creeper.
She was about to step back and walk inside the drawing room, thinking whoever it was would probably walk away after a while, when the man removed the hood off of his head, giving her a clear view of his face.
She let out an audible gasp, unable to trust her eyes. She blinked, once. Twice. But no, it was him, it was really him.
He looked up, directly into the peephole, and offered her his sinful smirk, as if he knew she was watching.
Her hands were trembling as she tried to swallow the scream of excitement that was threatening to spill out of her mouth and opened the door.
There he was, in all his utter sexiness and devilish good looks. It was really him.
But still, she brought forth a hand and pinched him lightly on the arm, just to make sure she wasn't imagining things. He smirked again while taking a step forward, making her step back due to the close proximity. Before she knew it, he was inside the house, merely inches away from her and looking down at her in triumph as he uttered 8 familiar words: "Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai."
And then he slammed the door shut behind him.
She was alone. She was alone in her house with the devil's spawn himself.
"Happy birthday, meri jungli billi."
And she couldn't have asked for a better birthday present.
