Striding in long steps, she made it to her room and after a bath she hoped to feel better and get going with her assignment. But alas, that just wasn't meant to be. She didn't find her fingers ready to rub lotion. She simply got into her pyjamas wondering how long her periods were going to last. She tried reading a book but lovey dovey cheesy dialogues were too slow at the moment and thrillers too high. She scowled as she threw it rightly onto her bedside table. She then went onto grab her knitting kit that she brought herself months before but never found time to get back to. Unfortunately for her brains, it was of no use for she found herself easily bored and madly pissed at having lost touch with the technique.

Ridhima logged onto her Skype account, hoping fervently that Muskaan was online which went in vain. Her cell was dead and she just wasn't in the mood to get downstairs to use the landline nor was she going to knock onto Navi's room and ask her for her cell. The wrong time of the month had never irritated her so much. She didn't what she was feeling. Her stomach was paining but it wasn't that bad that she had to yell and scream. She wanted to vomit but the urge was suppressible. The heavy feeling of uncomfortable tiredness added to it and she was being one lazy loser for now. She had blasted two kids some time back for not having studied what she told them to study and seeing herself shred her anger over her two buddies got her cursing herself.

It was nearly 4 in the evening and it was Saturday. The whole of morning and afternoon had gone waste excepting for the barely two slides she managed to finish her presentation after her million futile attempts to forget the pain on her lower abdomen. Now she was feeling utterly useless and the four walls of her room looked as though they were dying to close in on her.

When Aditi crashed on her bed quarter an hour later, she was still in shock. What was she doing here on a Saturday evening? She voiced her curiosity.

"I was on my way shopping. I called you to join me and then bam your phone was dead..," Aditi answered, resting her head on the pillow.

"Yeah, I have been too lazy to pick up my charger from the drawer," Ridhima interrupted.

"I guessed so. That's why I called Bua and she was telling me of a certain girl who hasn't moved out of her room. She literally begged me to get you out," Aditi said, stifling a giggle.

"So you are here to take me on a ride?' asked Ridhima, annoyed. She was definitely in no mood to go shopping or anywhere for that matter. She simply wanted to sleep on her stomach all day like she always did during days like these.

"In short, yeah. That's exactly what I plan to do. Besides, I hate shopping alone."

"Why are you alone? Where is Vivek anyways," asked Ridhima.

"Out with Armaan. Something came up on their case," replied Aditi.

"Their case? They have a case together?" blurted a surprised Ridhima.

"Yup. It seems that's why Armaan came back. They were out since last night. If it wasn't for the call Vivek gave me this afternoon telling me that they were okay, I would have freaked out."

"Last night onwards? Oh Great! No wonder Armaan was unavailable. I wondered why."

"Hmm. You guys on talk basis?" asked Aditi meaningfully ignoring other aspects of Ridhima's comment.

"Actually he gets my nerves more often but yeah we have managed to talk without pulling each other's hair for a certain amount of time," said Ridhima, making a face at the thought of her frenemy.

"Well he does have an effect on women. He can charm them so easily," commented Aditi.

"Excuse me. He didn't charm me. I just said we talk to each other. It's not like I am glad about it," frowned Ridhima. Aditi couldn't help notice the energy with which Ridhima spoke of Armaan. It had a ring of strength even in frustration.

"Okay Okay! I am never going to understand why you detest him because he is so cute. Now are you or are you not coming with me?" Aditi decided to back out for now. Armaan and Ridhima were a topic she needed to look through easily and lightly.

"No. I am tired. I need to get done with my presentation as well. You go ahead," said Ridhima lazily.

"Please come. Please...," and her ever famous taunts began to which Ridhima had but to surrender.

"Okay okay. Now get out. I want to dress up," and she dragged her legs to her closet.

"Kay. I will be waiting by the car," waved off Aditi.

"YOU CAME TILL HERE DRIVING?" yelped a shocked Ridhima as she shut the front door of the Nest.

"Of course. How else?. Aditi rolled her eyes.

"You little devil! I thought Vivek warned you against going out alone especially driving. God. Listen to him for once. His fears are definitely not unfounded. You really are going to make one insane mother," scolded Ridhima.

"Now don't you begin the rant. Please. I am tired of Vivek bossing me. Where on earth is it written that pregnant women cannot drive?" interjected Ridhima.

"Pregnant women can drive. But pregnant women who fainted thrice in 24 hours cannot. Its too dangerous. Now out. I am driving," Ridhima said with finality as she stood by the driver's seat.

And to that, Aditi couldn't retort. She scowled and then seated herself on the left side.

"Armaan, you okay?" asked Vivek.

Armaan looked red eyed. He was drained of energy; blanked out with the thickest veil of weariness

This time he had been hopeful. The phone call he got yesterday morning was more than shocking and when Nikhil told he managed to track it, Armaan hoped it was a good lead. Tracing the call and the mobile was an easy job. They had driven all the way till some god damn warehouse 174 kilometres away from Mumbai city. They kept it quiet and drove by themselves because they didn't want the information leaked. But nothing good came out of it. In fact they ended disturbing a poor man's sleep in the early hours of morning and scaring the crap out of him when they had their pistols ready to fire. It turned out that the caller had stolen the man's cell. Infuriated, when Armaan tried tracking by GPS, there was no signal.

"We couldn't have known it, Armaan. It's kay. These kind of things happen. We will catch that b***a** soon."

"One day we will. I know that. But what if it's too late. He specifically told something is waiting around the corner in this week. How am I going to live with that?" Armaan said, tears threatening to mist his eyes. He was scared, dead scared now because now his enemy hadn't mentioned Ridhima. 'Something wrong' was killing him. Anything and everything could go wrong.

"Look. We are worn out now. We will get back to this tomorrow fresh. I know we will catch him before he does anything nasty. You got to keep that belief. You get me?"

Armaan stared at Vivek's stern tone. His honey coloured eyes was warm and was requesting him to be strong. Armaan then nodded half heartedly.

"Come on. You need to gear up," said Vivek being cheerful.

"Where are we heading to?" asked Armaan in the car.

"Mall. Some mall. I will call Aditi and ask which one."

"Oh! Kay."

"Ridhima is also there. Thank God, she accompanied her. My wife has taken a vow to not pay heed to a word I say," said Vivek annoyed. It freaked him whenever she was alone.

At that, Armaan smiled and then thought of what happened. He felt his mood fall instantly. He wasn't going to be able to face her; not when he knew he had put her into a danger she didn't deserve to be in.
