every time, I came up with a critical analysis of a show gone haywire, the show improved! so here is my attempt in critically analyzing the show!, hoping it will improve!
So, kya show tha aur kya ban gaya! This was a show which had a lot of promise and potential! May be, the thought crossed the mind, that perhaps there will be nothing to show when manyata becomes a princess without realizing that there was sooo much that could be done.
Ok, so this was about a rags to riches kind of story. You had your hero, who was poor and belonged to the middle class. Your heroine is from the mahal, but bought up in a chawl BUT
a) what's with this akash jhaap? Seriously, what linkage does it have in the story! except that manyata is deeply in love with him, she can't live with out him...does he have any role in future story telling? what role is he going to play in manyata becoming a princess? Is he hinderance? Isnt akash the most complex and selfish person born in this planet, who has a lot of insecurities in him. He says he loves manyata but instead of encouraging him, is actually a thorn in her way? How are we supposed to relate to him, or feel for him? He is supposed to be your lead right?
b) no, instead your audience has downrightly rejected him. For them, UV is the hero, yet you try to tell us that akash is suppposed to be loved and UV hated!
c) From a trp of 2.5 two months back, you have gone down to trp of below 1. Are you wanting to close down the show? Tell us, we will stop watching. Alot of us, already have.
Why are you all not realizing that you are loosing audience. If you lose your loyal audience, its very difficult for them to come back. Why are you not realizing that the viewers are a very intelligent lot these days. they need to relate to your characters, they need to relate to the story. What is there to relate in this story. Manyata is a brat. She has no manners. There is sense of civility in her. Who talks to the elders like that! I would have been slapped, had I ever spoken to my parents like that.
Punished, ya right! What's with komal. Isnt the family prestige more important to her? Isnt a mother supposed to show a child th right way. Don't the family become hard, when the child does wrong?
What values are you trying to show! that its ok to be like that? which era are we living in. some body please tell me...
UV has no feeling of scaredness or guilt in him? Is he even human. Jane is a desperado to the core. Which girls throws her self like that on a man? Isnt she supposed to be a jilted lover? So isnt her reaction and behaviour SUPPOSED to be like that of a JILTED LOVER! isnt UV the only one who can reason with Manyata! Shouldnt it have been UV who would have helped Manyata in becoming a princess.
Shouldnt the story have been of a progression of manyata from living in a chawl to becoming a princess. She is supposed to be the princess of the kingdom and she behaves like some alien species. Even a person living in the chawl has more mannera than Manyata. Shouldnt the story have been of manyata and UV falling in love gradually after becoming friends, and akash going abroad, becoming rich and coming back to wreck havoc!
Is manyata ever going to realize that there is a price one has to pay for their behaviour and that what she ia doing is not in sync with the family prestige and honour. She has just dethroned her own grand mother and you know what, you have just lost the essence of the story by showing this for you have just gone down the same old beaten track!
There is no natural progression. Your characters are what they were in the first episode. The story is where it was 6 months back! Where is manyata make over? Shouldnt it have happenned by now? Your tracks are the same as what there 6 months back. What is there for us to see? Is there anything to look forward - no? then why should we even see it?
sorry for being harsh, rude, crude - had to be...for this show had so much potential and its just been butchered!
