TOI: Bhairavi turns producer

Bhairavi Raichura aka TV's Kajalbhai has turned producer with a social thriller

She's still remembered as the small screen's Kajalbhai (her role in the serial "Hum Panch" many years ago). But Bhairavi Raichura has come a long way since then, having done a number of shows. And now she has turned producer with Colors' "Chhal - Sheh Aur Maat" and is naturally excited.

She says, "While discussing The Script, we constantly tried to think like the audience to ensure that the story was not getting predictable at any point. We went ahead with an idea for any scene only if we were able to surprise ourselves. Chhal's story involves a lot of action with an interesting combination of suspense, thrills and daredevil stunts."

Prashaant Bhatt, fiction head of the channel, adds, "This is the first time we're exploring the social thriller genre and we are happy to have the geniuses of the genre - filmmakers Abbas-Mustan - supporting our first step. "Chhal" in a way is our tribute to their kind of filmmaking, which forces audiences to think and keeps them on the edge of their seats. It may sound like a simple story of a newly-wed bride; on the contrary, it will take you through twists and turns that have been carefully woven to create the web of mystery and thrill."
Abbas-Mustan too seem impressed with the direction television is taking today. "This show has all the elements of an exciting film. The genre attracts a huge audience for its style of storytelling."

"Chhal - Sheh Aur Maat" launches tonight at 9 and will air every Monday to Friday on Colors.
