Fivraaa! 🤗 Yayyie for making the post after all, and I'm always one vote up to read your long, long rambles! I just love the way you sit and dissect each point - because it's SO MUCH like reading something I've been wanting to get out of my system exactly like you say and in as many words! 😆 We are alleged bichdi behna for a reason 😆

So I haven't done this in a while.. Too long for my taste. But I guess now that I have finally gotten around to posting my thoughts, I'd like to do talk about Mohan and Megha's relationship and it's progression in general first before I get to the episode. Because I just can't talk about them how they are NOW if I don't first talk about how they GOT to here.. *sigh*

I honestly can't even remember which episode was the last one I ranted on (yep, it's been that long).. But I distinctly remember not talking about the "we-won't-look-at-or-help-each-other" wala scene. And so I guess that's where I'll start. Mohan had just recently posted his expose on Amar Vyas and Deenanath constructions - and he was SO sure he was right. He was so certain that his sabooth were truthful that he had even gone ahead and told a father that he should accept his son's dishonesty because it will be "easier" (*shakes head at the memory*). And Megha had recently been burnt by him and by her trust in him - even though she had moved on or TRIED to, in true Megha-form, there was that pain that was always there under the surface. And that same pain and broken trust wouldn't even allow her to do something as simple as THANK Mohan for any help he may have provided in any unrelated matter. So it made sense that they'd bring up the issue - again. But HOW they dealt with it was different. Up until then we had always seen Mohan and his bachpana, but that day it was like he fully brought out Megha's bachpana too, if only for a couple of moments. So they argue, like kids, and promise not to "come in front of each other!". Lol!! Sure, the feelings behind it were serious, but somewhere down the line I feel that was the day when their relationship changed a bit. From being "Mrs. Vyas a.k.a. Mirchi-madam" of the mauhalla to Mohan, she was now something more. She wasn't his friend yet, but she wasn't someone as distant as an acquaintance either. Even for Megha, who always maintained a decorum around everyone else, something had shifted. It was like Mohan had some how stepped inside the "propriety circle" that Megha has drawn around her otherwise. Sure, he was still going to be respectful of her and maintain some boundaries, but for some reason the same BOUNDARIES/expectations didn't apply to Mohan as they would to everyone else. And try as they might to say otherwise, from that day onwards they were more like "worthy opponents" than anything more formal.

And all the conversations that these two had since, silent or otherwise, just went to show how everything wasn't the same. They talked, but there was a hint of one-up-man-ship in there. They challenged each other, ENJOYED the challenge and almost anticipated the next one. Where Mohan became "tum" to Megha, she turned into "Mrs. Vyas" for him. She wasn't just another random person on the block who could be nicknamed by Mohan and he wasn't just another stranger who should be treated with distant respect - he was someone who was a bit more (knowingly or otherwise), someone who wasn't just a random stranger anymore even if he wasn't a FRIEND either. And she was "Mrs. Vyas", a lady that demanded the dignified response not because she was a widow or a mother of two but because she was SMART and WORTHY of the respect from Mohan. Warna pehley hamesha it would be "tum" and then it would be corrected to "aap".. 😆 Ab it amazes me k it's always "Mrs. Vyas", "aap"..

- To this point Fivr, wonderfully described! I know that scene had been majorly debated over its execution - although for some reason I can't remember being part of it, so maybe I wasn't around that day and caught up later... but like you said - they'd established something formal that day, given a sort of name to what they had - even if it was going along the lines of being purposeful, formal cold war variants. What I had really liked about that scene was the plain and precise manner in which Megha laid out her reason to be so edgy around him. And even though the followup enemy pact between them looked juvenile and bicker-ish... there was something very Mohan-esque about it. I can imagine someone like him pulling something as random and kiddy stubborn as a shaken hand promise in an exasperated moment with someone who's always blown hot and cold over him, for all the reasons in the book! As for Megha complying, I think she started off rolling eyes at him, making it very clear that she wasn't turning precocious like him - but then he egged her on with baits about how she might have gotten used to his help blah blah - and out came the claws. Not like her, in any typical sense, but then, one never really knows all the sides to one's ownself, until someone comes along to bring out those unexplored sides to one! Mohan does that to Megha - he brings out a reactionary side to her, which goes beyond not only the poise her loss has imposed upon her, but a reactionary side that may easily exceed even her usual nature before Amar's death... He's just that yin to her yang 😆 So honestly, even though watching that scene first time had cause me to raise an eye slightly, on a second watch, it seemed more natural, than not...

Over time, as Mohan gets to know Megha more than she does him, you see him getting attracted to her perseverance, her strength and her ability to smile through it all. And it wasn't a "romantic" attraction at all. I guess to me it always looked like Mohan was meeting someone like Megha - someone so seemingly "demure" at first glance but stronger and smarter with every glance since - k he couldn't help but be drawn to her. Mohan always seems like a guy who values integrity, strength and brains - and Megha is someone who has demonstrated all three in highly challenging situations. So I really enjoy the fact k Mohan looks to Megha with intrigue and curiosity than with "hawt stares" and "lowe waley expressions". I enjoy a man appreciating wits and brains (that are ACTUALLY that) instead of a pretty saree or a make up filled face..

Waise dekha jaye toh over all these two acted like such kindergardeners with Megha obviously acting like the girl least interested because "boys have cooties" wala expression and Mohan even more intrigued by the fact k koi use bhav kaise nahi dey raha.. 😆 And their bachpana-esque was highlighted even more during the initial Megha-working-in-the-same-office days where Mohan and his bindaas-ness was being curbed by Megha - be it his cluttered desk or his need to play basketball with crumpled pieces of paper. 😆😆 And Megha was learning k Mohan isn't as "mamooli" or horrible a person as she thought. Sure enough, being the Megha that she is, she cannot be convinced to accept him as a "dil ka acha" person just yet. But somewhere on a subconscious level, she KNOWS that he isn't like the rest and he isn't as horrible. Of course, his propensity for having trouble follow him doesn't work in his favor at all. 😆

So I was saying something along these lines on Nur's previous thread I think, or the one before that - about how Mohan hasn't received an ace in Megha's graces, obviously, but she also doesn't and can't put him down for the absolute anti-virtues in a sense. His propensity for trouble as you say, and just the overall Mohan-ism about him doesn't let her take his "dil ka achcha" deal seriously enough, specially when she's also been burnt by her tentative trust in him once...

As for Mohan - his double takes and turn head moments with regard to Megha are at such an intuitive level. There is nothing romantic about them yet, at all. Despite the de-re-naa moments. She just intrigues and surprises him at the slightest most trivial points, and he can't help but pass under transient wonder... If he'd shy away from her during his moments of wonder, I'd find it far more unnatural and jarring, than his direct unflinching stares or surprise - which are VERY Mohan in character, straight and candid! The only times he really averts eyes, is when he's put to spot about having caused her hurt, insult, or just having wronged her in some way. And again, even though it's a tad more pronounced for her, because she isn't a stranger anymore - Mohan is also the kind of guy who'd have a hard time living with having wronged anyone and realizing it.

And I really feel that their silent conversations are what provide the true-est insight into their relationship. Because there is always a sense of HONESTY in their conversations then that everyone else may not be privy to through their words. They challenge each other, laugh with each other, question each other or just express their pain and sorrow.. But they do it all in such a GENUINE manner - there is no pretense, there is no need to "fluff" up their emotions. Jo dikhta hai, wohi feel kar rahey hote hain. And they express it without hesitation. And I find that to be the biggest sign of how comfortable they are with each other as individuals. It doesn't have to be a "friendly" comfort level and it doesn't have to imply k they both like each other or even see eye to eye on everything. Just that even if they are butting heads over something silly or having a genuine argument, what they feel or how they are affected by the other has NEVER been sugar-coated (or any other kind of coated). And to me, it takes a lot of understanding and familiarity to be this vulnerable in front of someone who you would otherwise consider a "stranger" by worldly standards.

Exactly - to the bit in bold. I said this on another post, how what MM and have is basically a scale shift between two primary traits - intuition and genuineness. The two means they are both running on, because their time out moments from the at war status are always propelled in an intuitive sense, and at all other times - war, or indifference, or just bickering - they are genuinely what they are. And they have a subconscious understanding about each other at that - about being genuine people, for good or for bad - they are what they are at face value... no pretense, whatsoever! And somehow, even though Mohan being crude and true his Mohan-ism self is what ticks off Megha all the time, it is also exactly what allows her to intuitively trust him in the oddest moments of impulse. They bond over it - even in their twisted sense of bonding...

Which I guess now brings me to today - Mohan knows he's messed up and Megha has already been told k try as she might pretend otherwise, she is affected by his confession and his apology. Mohan NEEDS to fix his mistake and Megha NEEDS to keep her guard up as hard as it might be for either of them. So spurred on Guru jee (oh how awesome this man is!! 😍) Mohan jee koodh parhey maidan-e-jung mein. Of course, Megha being Nanhi-ki-Mummy, didn't give in at all! 😆 I loved how Mohan was PERSISTENT in his approach (even if it was Guru who had to keep preventing him from succumbing to his guilt) because to me THAT matters most. Ghalti sab kar dete hain, but those that really want to fix it, DO. Of course, Megha wasn't going to stop giving him a hard time about what he's done because she has to test him before she allows him to be in a position where he can hurt her.. again. So she first tells him to just print a retraction.. 😆 And then remind him of the silly promise.. 😆 And Mohan, who needs ONE chance, is looking at ANY way to get it - kuch bhi, kaise bhi, but he needs to make her believe that he is here to help. Because (in my mind) that's half the battle won for him. So he brings up the ONLY thing that he can think of that will produce quick and doable results (or so he thinks.. 😆) - why not go for a challenge k he won't cause any trouble all day. Because certainly THAT will prove k he means well. 😆😆😆

The bold really sums up the latest status quo between MM 😆 They can each be their own versions of mule heads as far as persistence and obstinacy is concerned, but each to their own spot is so justified for being butt headed - bot just because stubborn characters make a hawt lowe story - but because they both have come about to a spot of such clash where each feels compelled to stick to their own stand.

PS: I loved the way Megha turned back to him at the end of this scene and said waise muje bohot shaq hai ke musibat na aaye 😆 And then Mohan stumbling over his waces - such a ye to hona hi tha moment 🤣

Of course, Megha is apprehensive - once bitten twice shy and she's just not ready to give him another chance. I can identify with that because sometimes I tend to be this stringy with second chances too, even if it is not something to be proud off. 😳 But FINALLY, she gives everyone else's persuasiveness (even though I feel k on some level she WANTED to give him that chance, even if only to see if he makes it or fails) and Mohan jee is so sure k agley 8 ghanton mein kuch nahi hoga.. 😆

Prateek sir and his creepiness.. I am so glad k Prerna forced him to take Dimpy jee to the dentist (who looses a filling while eatting sweets?! 😕). I am honestly creeped out by how easily Prateek transitions from his creepiness to being "normal".. And how well he hides it.. Seriously.. 😕😕

His "normalcy" in being such a "creep" makes me all the more wary about his experience in such matters 🤢 It's so freaky the way he tells Prerna everything - I was staring at Megha, I'm going shopping with Megha - and his candor is like his greatest shield! Because Prerna is obviously too secure a wife to feel edgy about such statements from a husband she thinks is too devoted to her, and too professional outside. The way he shares his dealings and activities with her so naturally is what can never make her easily suspicious - he has TONS to hide, but he hides nothing. And interestingly, for her this is the case of staring at a truth so obvious, that you are bound to miss it. Anyway, I don't think I'll ever be okay with Prateek turning a lech. I gave this more thought and decided I would have found it so much better even in terms of a twist, if they'd only shown Prateek to eventually become grey, in becoming DN's ally. I could have dealt with an ambitious not so principled fourth estate owner anyday - over just turning a lech out of him for no requisite reason! In fact, making him DN's ally in the long run could have provided for some very interesting turns in terms of Mohan and his fall out, amd most importantly Prerna's dilemma over who and what to chose if he was a good husband, despite being a grey professional... That would have actually been something much more layered to watch if they just had to turn Prateek bad... khair - woh toh hona hai ni ab...

The initial scene with the guard was HILARIOUS! I loved how Mohan looks at Megha as soon as the silliness starts and then with every hint of amusement from her, he gets even more annoyed at the guy. Lol, that's exactly the kind of bachpana and (healthy) competition that I feel is unique to their relationship alone. And finally when Megha thanks the "uncle".. 🤣 Oh Megha is so good at sliding in these simple comments at the RIGHT time that may seem otherwise innocent although they are anything but. 😆😆

I have to say I am so happy k the fact that Mohan and Megha were standing an inch apart in the elevator was not used as a que to 10 hour long stares or even an awkward glance. 😃 It was so normal k haan bhai ho gaye kharey, koi baat nahi.. It's a busy elevator with people crammed in toh it's no big deal. Mohan's constant attempts at trying NOT to mess anything up were hilarious.. 🤣🤣🤣 How he tries to "nicely" ask the guys k logon ki lift mein ye kya ley jaa rahey ho.. Lol.. And how you can see him PHYSICALLY restrain his otherwise bindass comments that jump out of his mouth uncensored normally. 😆😆 Oh Megha.. You really did give him a task, didn't you..?

Gosh, watching Mohan at his Mission to control his attitude was EPIC! Specially the way he gives her all those obvious looks of how no he hasn't changed elementally but yes, he's only putting up with a phase to please her 😆 Koi kiti blatantly jata sakta hai, that's he's trying to get into somebody's good books with an intention?! 😆 If Mohan ever had to sincerely suck up to a boss or some superior for a mission, he'd be an epic fail 😆

The shop scene was so cute - especially when Mohan brings the phone to Megha, all excited k it's a skull shaped phone. 🤣 Such bachpana I tell you! A total larka! And Megha being the mommy-of-two that she is can't help but treat him like a kid too. "Is mein time dikhta hai?" *sweet smile*.. "Is mein dikhta hai." 🤣 Oh these two are such a riot when they are together. Mohan and obviously sab kuch random hi khareed liya and Megha was all concerned with the budget and the propriety of the stuff they are buying.

Okay, completely objectively, but in Mohan's defense - that sandclock was SO AWESOME! I wanted to throw a tantrum and sulk at Megha for being so stingy efficient! Kuch toh whim ke liye bi lete hain yaar! *hand on hips demanding look* But that phone was HORRIBLE 😆 I toh mentally imagined a scene of Prateek talking on that phone 😆 Or better Dimpy getting to use that phone as her desk set 😆 😆 Mohan could even gift it to her, just for kicks 😆 Oh no, no... Karan could gift it to her 🤣

I liked how they handled the comment about Mohan being from a rich family. It wasn't turned into a big deal and I really like how Megha (and even Mohan) can always keep any of their differences aside and provide any support/help that the other may need in any given time of need. Here Mohan was clearly a bit hurt by her comment so she does what she does best - placate him with PATIENCE and understanding. It wasn't over the top, but it was so humane k I loved it. Similarly, later on when the Rashmi incident happens in the elevator she helps him get past it in her small way. And he never makes a big deal of it - it is never construed into something "big" or something that hints at "lowe" or anything else. It is such a genuine way to treat their relationship.

LOL @ Mohan telling Megha k she is scared of the elevator. And an even bigger LOL @ Megha feeling the need to prove otherwise.. Ab kis mein bachpana hai Megha jee..? 🤣

Seee! What I mean about this reactionary side to Megha that Mohan compels?! He just eggs her to a point that she must give in to the lamest oldest baits in the book - knowingly half the times too! 😆

On a serious note, I LOVED the subtleties between MM they brought in at random points. The way Megha intuitvely sensed the change in Mohan when she mentioned a crorepati Dad - and esp the way she made up to him by saying his choice of "expensive" pens was good, waise 😆 Then again, the way she had to stop before biting into her food, to give him some too - I know, anyone would, but Megha is just so natural and matter of fact about it in that scene - it's SO her!!! And then the returned favor when Mohan extends "jam on his forefinger" towards her OMG EPIC 🤣 Her expression to his "kindness to share" 🤣

And of course, the moment of Mummy-Mohan's talk about Rashmi, and Megha getting a first glimpse into a side of Mohan she has neither seen before, and as her expression tells, she is surprised to discover! There's that flickering moment of him, really? and then immediate follow up of empathy - like of course, everyone has some story to tell, even if they don't go around being cribs about it! And her statement to ease the air - har maa ko apne bachon ki chinta hoti hai - something so natural coming from her. I love the dynamics between them in that moment. Megha is a mother of two kids talking. Yet, Megha is just Megha talking, from Mohan's perspective, in part. He would not move to such a statement coming from someone of his mother;s generation. It's just how it comes to him from someone who is an equal in one sense, and yet the more wise about this matter in another... He can connect with that advice coming from someone who is both a mother, and his peer.

Oh the SONGS in the elevator - kaun choose kar raha tha yeh? 🤣 I do find it adorable k Mohan tried in his little way to make Megha more comfortable in those instances even if was by diverting her attention to how annoying he could be. 😆 Of course, that is when the amazing Jack and Jill are introduced - Megha sey toh kuch keh nahi sakta toh beechara Mohan apney new found friends k saath hi baat kar ley. It is almost hilariously cruel to see someone so otherwise expressive and witty have to bite down on comments for HOURS - so I can almost sympathize with his need to talk to mannequins. 😆 Although in his defense, he tried. He TRIED. But there is only so much he could do so finally he did dance with Jack jee who was way too tipsy to stand straight and the rest is history.. 😆😆😆

Waise how amusing was it that each of them acted so differently in that situation. Pehley Megha panics a bit and he asks her to calm down because "ruki hai toh chal bhi parhey gi".. He tries to hit all the buttons aik saath - impatient atma that he is.. And of course gets told off by Megha because she toh is the devi of patience (having two kids and all). And then he tried to OPEN THE DOOR?! 🤣 While she calls for help.. It is so indicative of their outlook - Mohan has this confidence that is sometimes OVER confident as he himself said in the past episode.. And Megha is somewhere lacking this ability to do a lot on her own since Amar's death. So I found that interesting.

Phir kya, they have a whole bunch of HILARIOUS conversations which really to me were yet another indication of how informal they are. They didn't stand around silently or even simply humor the other if they felt what was being done was stupid.. Their uncensored comments around each other just remind me of how are so much more to each other than just random mohalley waley strangers. With Megha sharing her food or Mohan offering his phone, water and jelly (?!) to her they were so much more like buddies (albeit annoyed at each other waley buddies.. 🤣) than strangers. And Megha's need to correct Mohan bar bar whether it be about his excessive water consumption or his horribly out of sync singing abilities are definitely not suggestive of a "janney waley" type relationship, try as she might to say otherwise... 🤣 Kabhi kabhi toh I am certain k Mohan does it on purpose just to mess with her.. 🤣🤣🤣

Waise coming to some other small things before I wrap this up.. Karan is useless - Dimpy jee k liye malish kara lo but koi elevator mein phassa hai toh ussey help na karo. Useless!! Renu and her need to glorify someone else's kid's mistake while parda dalo-ing on her own son's offenses.. *shakes head* And MIL's ability to make horrible faces ALL the time.. I swear when I saw her smile yesterday, I was sure the sun had risen from the West. *rolls eyes* And Mohan's mummy jee is looking for a girl for him..? *thinks* So it seems k Rashmi was someone that Mohan picked for himself - a girlfriend..? - who maybe didn't bother to stick around.. Broke his heart or just left him weary.. Could this possibly be related to his decision to leave home..? *thinks* I am interested to find out more.. I am too sad that Guru did not find out about Mohan being stuck in the elevator - it would have been side-splitting to see what he would have done to help.. 😆

Oh, oh.. And I like how Mohan clarified k this wasn't his fault and that he hadn't caused HER any trouble but rather he too was in trouble.. along with Jack and Jill of course.. 😆😆 I am certain that Mohan isn't going to let Megha use this against him even if simply on a technicality and not just because he can't afford to have this go against him but because he is CERTAIN k this ISN'T his fault. And if Mohan isn't one to shy away from accepting his mistake at the earliest, he isn't one to take undue blame for something he didn't do wrong.. Waise I loved how Mohan went "ye toh minute minute ka hisab rakh rahi hai" (or something to that effect) when Megha was shooting down all his attempts to show k he wasn't trouble during the intials parts of the episode.. 😆😆😆

I may have forgotten a lot of stuff because I did this from memory but I am sure I'll be able to comment on them once someone else mentions them.. I honestly don't even know how coherrent this was.. Blah. And you were right Pallavi.. This doesn't seem "not too massive" kisi bhi angle sey.. 😕😆

Anyways, I am looking forward to Monday and to see how Mohan convinces Megha k he is indeed worthy of her trust this time.

P.S. I am so unable to think of anything witty to title this.. I guess this lameness will have to do.. 😕😆

^^ To ALL of the rest you said Fivraa - 😆 😆 😆 - I have nothing to add *shocked* - but sabi bol diya tumne!!! 😆 Overall, a satisfying ME - nothing content high, but such a complete entertainer, I could hardly complain about it on that objective level 😆

Thank you guys for your comments! My spring break has sadly come to an end and that means I now need to finish up a lot of assignments in the next two weeks that I SHOULD have been working on this past week. Blah! So in the interest of getting an early start tomorrow, I won't be able to reply to each post separately.. (*sad muh* I loved your comments Jzee.. In fact there were some in there that I would love to discuss if I wasn't such a lame-o person when it came to time..*sigh*).. But I enjoyed everyone's comments and I am definitely waiting for tomorrow's episode! 😃
