One can relate to every emotion of Mohan Bhatnagar and Kudos to Kunal Karan Kapoor's flawless acting. It's really difficult to differentiate who do we love the most – Kunal or Mohan.
Amar Vyaas Ka Sach tumhe sweekarna hi padega. Agar thodi si bhi insaniyat bachi hogi na, toh zindagi bhar sharminda hone ke liye tumhe majboor hona padega. Bahut taqleef hogi. As a viewer I always dreaded the moment when Mohan would eventually come face to face with the fact that every bit of his "Truth" about the Mahananda massacre was nothing but a faade.
Report ko theek se jacha bhi nahi, parkha bhi nahi aur sab kuch chaap diya…"With great power, comes great responsibility." This was the lesson that Spiderman's Uncle had taught him. Nanhi's Spiderman, Mohan Bhatnagar, the Journalist and Star Reporter of Prabhat Laher is no less than a super hero because no one puts forth the crime stories the way he does. His ability to unveil the truth makes him stand out as a winner always.
From the inception of the story, Mohan is shown to believe that Dinanath is a corrupt person and was making continuous efforts to expose him. It was during this phase that he comes across Koel who was closely associated with Dinanath. Given to understand by Koel that she herself intends to expose the man in question, Mohan thought that he had finally struck the right chord. Thereafter he started playing his cards and ensures that Koel handed over the proofs which she said she had secretly procured to pin down Dinanath.
There is a very thin line between confidence and over-confidence and often one crosses the line without realising it. Mohan, desperate to unravel the truth, fell prey to Dinanath's trap. Somewhere it was Mohan's over-confidence which made him believe that he was leading the investigation. He therefore understimates Koel and becomes a little complacent. Not even in his wildest nightmare did he think that she could manipulate and use him to her advantage. He was so certain about the reliability of the source from where he was deriving the proofs for his story, that doubting Koel's intentions or her trust worthiness was out of question.
Even after knowing how Nanhi and Megha felt about Amar, Mohan was unable to negate the evidences and the efforts he had put in to secure them. He could not completely ignore the thought that perhaps Amar had a darker side to his personality, unknown to his family. As much as he felt sorry to have hurt Nanhi and her family's sentiments, deep down he was convinced that he was being fair and unbiased in delivering his responsibilities. Nonetheless, Koel's revelation last night leaves him in a state of shock wherein he realises that sometimes truth is not what it appears to be. This time around, single wrong judgement on his part not only established Amar Vyaas, an innocent man, guilty before the world, but also tarnished his own conscience.
"The greatest accomplishment is not in never failing, but in rising again after you fall." Mohan falling off from his bike symbolises that he did falter in his duties as a Journalist. However, on realising his mistake, he wastes no time and decides to seek forgiveness from Megha.
But will Mohan, being a Man of Principle, be able to forgive himself for putting Nanhi and her family through all the humiliation? To what extent would Mohan go to redeem himself and stand up for the truth?
As the story takes a new turn hereon, we hope that it only gets better.
